Chapter 55: The Daughter of the Southern Duke

Thud... Thud...

The sound of flesh hitting a hard surface echoed through the enormous room.

The echoes of these punches were so powerful, they reverberated like amplified thunder, sending small tremors through the air.

The room itself was a huge training chamber, a facility filled with various equipment and weird contraptions designed to enhance strength and conditioning.

In the middle of this gym, a sizable area was dedicated to combat training. Some kind of fighting ring or platform stood at the center, while surrounding it were padded mats and punching bags, displaying the wear and tear of countless intense training sessions.

A lonely silhouette stood in the midst of these bags, throwing powerful punches with precision and control while maintaining a fluidity of movement. Their body moved with grace, showcasing the hours of dedication and practice that had gone into honing their skills.

Each strike landed with a satisfying thud, making the punching bag violently swing and sway in response.

Creak...

In the end, the metal chain holding one of these bags gave away under the relentless force, causing the bag to crash heavily onto the floor.

It almost fell onto the figure, but with a quick and agile movement, they swiftly stepped aside, narrowly avoiding being hit by the falling bag.

Thud...

Looking at the broken equipment with a deadpan expression, the figure let out a small sigh.

"It's the fourth time this week. I should end it today..."

Placing the broken punching bag aside, the figure, still clad in their training attire, slowly made their way towards the balcony at the side of the room despite their muscles, still buzzing with the exertion of their workout, protesting against the movement.

Swish...

As they stepped out onto the balcony, the cool night air greeted them, a refreshing contrast to the stifling heat of the training room. The moon, a luminous orb was hanging high in the sky, cast its silvery glow over the cityscape below, painting the buildings in a soft, ethereal light.

The figure leaned against the railing, gazing out at the twinkling lights of the city. A sense of tranquility washed over them, easing the tension that had been building up in their muscles and mind. The rhythmic sounds of the city, the distant hum of traffic and the faint strains of music, provided a soothing backdrop to their thoughts.

In the soft moonlight, the figure's features were also illuminated. It was a sight that would stun any onlooker.

Her face was a mesmerizing blend of beauty and mystery. Her skin was flawless, with a porcelain-like complexion that seemed to glow under the moonlight. Her lips were full and inviting, painted a deep shade of red that complemented her perfectly. Her nose was small and elegant, and her cheekbones were high and defined.

But what truly captivated one's attention were her eyes. They were large and almond-shaped, with a piercing crimson hue that seemed to glow with an inner fire. Her eyelashes were long and thick, framing her eyes like delicate lashes.

Her hair was a stark contrast to her crimson eyes, a cascade of pure, snow-white hair that flowed down her shoulders like a waterfall. It was as if her hair was made of moonlight itself, shimmering and glistening in the moonlight. The combination of her snow-white hair and crimson eyes was both stunning and intimidating, making her appear both angelic and otherworldly.

She looked like a celestial being, a creature of elegance and power, standing on the balcony with an air of both grace and defiance rather than a brute that had just broken a metal chain with her bare hands.

However, it was understandable. She wasn't normal. She was the generational talent, the only person in the world who had the bloodline of the Dragons running through her veins. The child who has the potential to become the strongest being in the world. The only successor of the Southern Duke.

From a young age she had been groomed to embrace her destiny, to carry the weight of her bloodline and become a beacon of power and authority in the world of humans.

However, no matter how resilient she was, she was tired. For 17 years she had borne the burden of expectations, trained tirelessly, sacrificing her private life and personal desires for the sake of becoming strong.

"Only a year left until 'it' starts..."

Looking at the moon hanging high in the sky, she flexed her fingers, gripping the railing of the balcony tightly and placing her foot outside the barrier.

Slowly, she climbed over the railing and stood on the edge, her snow-white hair billowing in the breeze.

Click...

Suddenly, the sound of the gym doors opening interrupted her thoughts, and she quickly turned around to see a middle aged woman with maid clothes staring at her with wide eyes.

"Lady Iris!"

The maid exclaimed, appearing before her in an instant and reaching for her hand, however, before she could grab hold of Lady Iris' hand, Iris pulled her hand back with a mischievous expression.

"Bye..."

Showing her tongue, Iris leapt off the balcony, her white hair and crimson eyes shimmering in the moonlight as she descended through the night sky like a shooting star.

The maid watched as her lady disappeared into the night sky before letting out a heavy sigh and pulling out her phone.

"Sir, I'm afraid your daughter has done it again."

"..."

"Yes, she jumped off the balcony."
