"I said, I'll take care of your granddaughter, Ms. Gray. If Iris is still willing to accept me..." Xavier stated, looking directly into Iris' eyes as if he were now confessing his love to her.

His words nearly caused her to collapse, as her knees felt like jelly. In a flash, she held onto the edge of the bed to steady herself and tried to calm her rapidly beating heart.

"H-Heaven! Xavier, are you serious?" Cassandra's voice sounded ecstatic on the other end.

"Yes, Ms. Gray. I meant every word," Xavier confirmed.

Cassandra couldn't help but smile with joy. She was thrilled that her granddaughter's dream of becoming Xavier's lover had come true. "My granddaughter would be over the moon if she learned about this. Have you told her? I mean, how do you think she would react?" she asked curiously.
