Chapter 13: 013 * Bonus Chapter *

Alex was back inside the inn, and immediately his whole body started to spasm. While he had acquired the Seekers' eyes, Alex didn't notice much of a difference. The reason for that was because his eyes were still adjusting to the new eyes. He had logged off before they were fully adjusted and had slowly eased himself into his new outlook on the world. Now he was seeing the world with his new eyes without fully adjusting.

In Alex's view, he saw the world in a whole different way. The number of colors he saw was astronomical, and he was able to see the tiniest detail wherever he looked. However, the most insane part was that sometimes everything would go black. Objects would have a white outline, and some places would have yellow patches or cracks. This type of vision would flicker on and off. Eventually, he was able to turn it off and go back to a more normal vision. He felt that he would need a few hours to get used to this new normal vision. He also would need some time to pass for all the attention to cool down.

Alex stayed inside the room, practicing sword movements. He did this for 5 hours and finally became fully accustomed to his new vision. He had plans to go to another dungeon; however, this dungeon required a party of 4 people. Of course, Alex was going to be in the party, so he would need to find three more people. He had a few people in mind, but he didn't know if he could convince them. The people he wanted to convince were the Flower Castle guild. In the past, the guild had become a major power; however, that all changed when they offended another major power because of a player. This power then absolutely destroyed the guild and humiliated its members. The person they were protecting was Alex. He was the reason for their downfall, and he wouldn't let such a large debt go unpaid.

Alex first needed to make contact with them, and he knew the easiest way. On the official game's forum, he posted a message asking to talk to the Flower Castle Guild guild master. Of course, many players were confused about which guild was the Flower Castle Guild and launched a full investigation. That's when they learned that they were merely a newly formed third-rate guild. Guilds that were eying the most popular player at the moment, Lucifer, began to put pressure on the guild. Of course, these guilds were merely second-rate and a few first-rate guilds. No true powerhouses had started to pay attention to Lucifer as they also had elites. After around an hour, the Flower Castle guild finally replied to him, asking where he wanted to meet. Alex then privately messaged them the location of a restaurant inside the city and the time. The restaurant was expensive; however, he didn't mind the cost as he thought he was just paying back some interest. The meeting was scheduled in 6 hours, and Alex planned on trying to get used to his other vision in the meantime.

Alex arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes before the agreed time. He sat down at the table and ordered a strawberry milkshake and a slice of strawberry shortcake. Just this cost around 1 gold coin; however, he didn't mind the cost. A few minutes later, a woman with pink hair and light blue eyes walked through the door. She looked around the restaurant and started to walk toward Alex. She looked a little nervous, but she tried her best to not show it.

"Lucifer?"

"Yes, that's me. And who might you be?"

"I'm Blossom, the guild master of the Flower Castle guild."

"Oh? Please sit down, order whatever. It's all on me."

"Well, thank you then."

Blossom ordered a slice of cherry cheesecake and a raspberry smoothie. While they waited for the food, neither one of them talked. Once the food arrived, Alex was the first to speak.

"How has running a guild been treating you?"

"Fine, at least until you drew so much attention to us."

"I'm sorry about that. I just wanted to hire a few people from your guild for a dungeon run."

"Why would you even need our help? Another thing, why would you ask us?"

"Good questions. I need a minimum number of players for this dungeon, and the answer to your second question is that I have no real reason."

"Okay, then why would I ever agree to this?"

"Well, for a multitude of reasons like free exposure, money, items, and forming a good relationship."

"How much money? Also, how would we get free exposure?"

"Well, getting a first clear on a dungeon helps a guild get new recruits and show their strength. Then I was thinking 70 Gold Coins, and I get to keep every item and material we get. I'll also give 3 Ivory Iron equipment for your people to dismantle the corpses. Is that acceptable to you?"

"What members did you have in mind?"

"I don't have any specific members, so your guild can decide among yourselves. I just need 3 players, and they can gather at the Fire Cave dungeon in 10 hours."

"Alright, that works for me."

"Okay, then all I need from you is to sign the system contract and have any players who are coming with me also sign it."

"Alright, I'll get them to sign it."

"Well, I guess that's all we need to talk about. Have a good day, Blossom."

"You too, Lucifer."

Alex stood up, walked to the counter, and paid the bill. He then left the restaurant and started heading toward the adventure guild inside the city. He wanted to buy a better storage ring now that he had the funds to do so. He went inside and bought a Shimmering Silver storage ring for 20 gold coins. This ring had 250 item slots, a dedicated money slot, and 15 non-bag slots. Unfortunately, the adventure guild didn't sell higher-ranked storage items to newbie adventurers. He also bought the skills Parry and Extinguish. Each skill had cost him 30 Gold coins, however he felt that they were worth it.

[ Parry

[ Extinguish

While still inside the city, he also grabbed a few quests he knew about that Alex could complete inside the Fire Cave. The quests were Core Collection and Kill Fire Elemental. They were reputation quests and were rewarded based on strength and quantity. At the moment, players didn't know about these quests, but that wouldn't last long. Luckily, they wouldn't be able to always gain reputation from them. When someone reaches Baron, they will be unable to gain reputation from these quests.

Alex went and bought an alchemy cauldron. It cost him 10 gold coins for an Ivory Iron, and he also bought 3 gold coins worth of herbs. He had already spent most of his money leaving him with only a few gold coins. Alex wanted to make fire resistance potions for the Fire Cave raid. He had bought enough materials for 25 tries. While he didn't have any experience with potion making, he had seen Master Alchemists making potions before. Alex was hoping his Seekers' Eyes skill would help him. He went back to the inn and began to create the Fire Resistance potion. He didn't actually own a flame, so he had to use some consumable flames that lasted 10 tries and cost 3 silver each. In his first try, he failed. Before he began again, he went through the experience again and compared it to the recipe. He reviewed any mistakes he made and tried again. Another failure happened, and he reviewed his experience again. This happened three more times before he succeeded.

[ You have created a Fire Resistance potion. Gained 300 experience. ]

He used the rest of his materials, being able to make 20 potions in total. He also almost gained a level from all the experience. He had spent three hours making potions, and the trip to Fire Cave takes 3 hours. He still had 2 hours to spare and decided to head toward Fire Cave. He wanted to have enough time to reach level 18. His whole plan depended on whether he had enough stat points in sense and enough fire resistance.
