Chapter 512: Chapter 512 - Gone Crazy (Part One)

"What's going on?"

"I don't know," Roy's expression turned cold. "They came at me intending to attack. I have no idea who sent them."

"It doesn't matter if you don't know." The old man snorted coldly. "There will be opportunities to find out!" The Moran family was not one to be trifled with.

Anyone who messed with the Moran family would come to regret it!

"What exactly happened? Why are you and Laila here? What about the plane and the people on board?" The old man, being experienced, hit the nail on the head with his questions.

As Roy was being examined by the accompanying rescue team, he replied, "After we got on the plane, they brought some food and drinks. Laila seemed to like it, so I let her have my share too. Little did I know, they had put sleeping pills in the drinks, hoping that we'd all crash with the plane in our sleep."

The old man's eyes sharpened, and his lips tightened as he struggled to contain his rising anger. "And then?"

"I thought Laila was too tired and had fallen asleep, so I wanted to ask someone to bring a blanket. But I found out that all the flight attendants had disappeared. When I came out, I saw all the crew members, including the pilot, had already put on parachutes and were jumping out. In the rush, I managed to grab one of them and snatch his parachute."

In just two days, there had been three deaths due to Roy's actions if you counted the unfortunate guy who had been used as bait and was subsequently killed by his own companion. Such an event would surely garner significant attention in the United States, but here it would probably only appear on a few people's desks, and it might not even make the news.

In that life-or-death situation, he felt no guilt for outliving the enemies. After the initial discomfort passed, he only felt relief. He was relieved that he had preserved his own life and protected the person he loved the most. That was enough for him.

Oswald's old man saw that Roy showed no remorse for taking lives and subtly appreciated his decisiveness. If Roy was merely a handsome young man with some acting talent in his eyes before, now he had completely accepted him as part of their family.

To become a member of the Moran family, you needed to have the resolute determination and the willingness to do whatever it took. Look at Quentin; he managed to catch the old man's eye as a highly accomplished elite. To be honest, stars, actors, and singers couldn't get in the old man's good books.

"Well done!" Forget about grabbing a parachute bag; even if he had killed everyone on the plane to save himself, it wouldn't matter. He had his ways to prove it was a matter of self-defense, and he didn't have to worry about any accusations.

The next events were easy for the old man to figure out. Looking at Laila's clean appearance and Roy's disheveled and bloodstained condition, he knew that his granddaughter had been cared for and protected. Someone willing to give everything to protect her even in the face of danger was exactly the kind of person he wanted by her side.

"This should have something to do with Faiza," Roy said, not forgetting the look he saw on Faiza's face before boarding the plane. He hadn't thought much of it at the time, but it only struck him as malicious after the events unfolded.

"Faiza?" The old man nodded with a cold look in his eyes. "I know what to do now. After we return, you should rest. I'll take care of what's next."

At this point, Dawud also received the news that Laila had been found by the Moran family's people. When two of the men he had sent out lost contact, he knew something was amiss, though he didn't yet know who had killed them.

But no matter whether they had died at Laila's hands or the old man's, it wasn't good for them. Especially now that Laila had been found, the truth of the situation was likely in the hands of the Moran family.

What should he do?

Dawud's mind was in turmoil. Faiza's actions had been extremely foolish. He had harmed others and made the crew members jump with parachutes, making it clear to everyone that the plane crash had been premeditated.

But his daughter had been pampered by him from a young age, and even though she had caused trouble, he couldn't bear to see her sent out to face trial. His biggest problem now was that he couldn't find a way to save his daughter and protect the family from being implicated. If the royal family found out that the guest they had so carefully invited had almost killed his daughter, their family's entire fortune could be in danger.

Their family needed the support of the state to survive and to thrive in the country, they needed the favor of the royal family. Once the royal family turned against them, there was no telling how long their family would be able to survive.

After much thought and with the rescue team about to return, he finally made a decision.

"What? You want me to confess?" After hearing his father's words, Faiza widened his eyes and stared at him in disbelief, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Father, do you know what the consequences will be if I confess?"

Dawud, of course, knew, that such an act would normally result in the death penalty. But if he didn't hand over his daughter, he would face the consequences of the entire family being targeted by the Moran Group and the royal family. He couldn't take that risk. He loved his daughter, but he wasn't willing to send her out to face a severe punishment. He loves this daughter very much, but she is not the only daughter, and as long as he is willing, he will have new daughters born in the future. If getting rid of a trouble-making idiot daughter could save the entire family, why wouldn't he do it?

He thought so, but he couldn't say that.

"Faiza, my child. Don't worry, as long as I'm here, you won't be punished too severely. You are my most beloved daughter. Do you think your father would want you to suffer?"

"Even if it's a light punishment, I won't go!" Faiza might be foolish, but that didn't mean she was stupid. She was passionately in love with the prince when it came to matters involving him, but she could be very clever when it came to matters of self-interest.

Perhaps her father could indeed ensure that she didn't face heavy penalties, but even if she was just sentenced to a few lashes, it was something she couldn't accept. The prince would never marry a woman who had received a flogging in public, and he would certainly not choose a woman who had a criminal record to be by his side.

"Faiza, don't mess around!" Dawud finally showed a hint of impatience. "It seems that I've spoiled you, making you not realize what you've done. Anyway, this is your mess, and you should be the one to fix it!"

With that, he had several men stuff Faiza into a car, ignoring her loud protests, and drove her to where Prince Al Nadeem lived.
