CHAPTER START---

---1 Month Since Pain Attacked...

"Stand up," Jin commands.

Pakura rises from the chair she was in as the seal on her body disappears. Green hair with orange ends falling messily toward the sides of her face.

"How did you die?" he asks her, handing off Danzo's head to Karin at his side, Kotoamatsukami already used on his Knights, the girl moves to place the head back into the preservative.

"Betrayed by my village and allies, for, peace?" Pakura asks, not sure of the finer details.

'She isn't hostile, it worked just like the others, nobody else can even sense the genjutsu, Knights loyal only to me...'

"Right, you'll be loyal only to me now, no more betrayals, when I'm not around my sister Karin will control your team."

"Huh, team?"

"Yeah, you're my Knights. You're only loyal to Unity, here," he tosses her a headband, the kanji for Unity on the metal.

"I understand sir."

"When you aren't on assignment you're free to do as you like, without breaking any laws or revealing who you are, this operation is not to be revealed under any circumstances," Jin informs her as Karin comes back into the room with a tray of food.

"Uh, you need to eat before we get you cleaned up, you've been gone for 15 years..."

"R-right," Pakura's voice was uncertain.

"You can come with me, I'll get you all caught up and show you around," Karin says before walking out.

Pakura only nods at Jin before quietly excusing herself. As both women leave Jin frowns slightly.

"Maybe that genjutsu makes her more subservient...the others seemed just fine... I'll let Karin deal with that..." Jin mutters to himself while walking down the hallway.

He was currently in casual clothes with a new visor on his face, by order of the 6th Hokage.

Entering a room at the far end of the hall, Jin sees Kakazu, Roshi, Han, and Fu sitting around a large table having an awkward breakfast.

"I woke up Pakura, she'll probably get some rest then join your team, we haven't really had time to have a big group talk, you know what your jobs are, anything you need to discuss..."

"You killed me to bring me back, you're something else," Kakazu growls out.

"I brought back people who suffered because of petty countries, you're pretty high on that list."

"Was this always the plan, this why you met me and Han?" Roshi asks as he sips his tea.

"I wanted to recruit you, yes, I hoped I could do it without having to bring you back, but life...I mean, death, happens," he corrects himself while taking a seat.

"Feels good to be free, but what happened to our tailed beasts?" Han asks, the man towering over the table, standing at 7ft6 his height shows even when sitting.

"Currently sealed and inert, I'll be raiding the Akatsuki base to deal with them after the villages settle down, the intel I have matches what Kakazu gave me so we'll all be moving as one, but that's for after the villages get their shit together."

"What about the Kyubi and Hachibi?" Fu asks, the girl was finally taking a breather from stuffing her face.

"Mmm, I'll find a way to remove them from the equation, but that's a bit more delicate," Jin gives her an uneasy smile.

"Oh, ok, feels weird being friends with the guy that killed me," she giggles while playfully patting Kakazu's arm.

"I'll say." Han looks at Kakazu.

"Don't make it weird, you have a common goal now, I need to get out of here. Just do what Karin says and make sure she doesn't get hurt alright," Jin says while getting up.

Receiving a serious nod from everyone in the room, he casually walks into the hallway to intercept Karin.

"Hey, there's something else I wanted to tell you," she stops in place, holding Pakura's old clothes to be burned.

"Need something?"

"I just came back from checking on Suna, they're done with repairs thanks to Gaara but they don't have enough doctors. I told him to expect you in a day or two, take Pakura with you as well."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"I'd like you to be able to at least run to one person outside the leaf if things go bad, Gaara is a friend so be nice alright," he gives her a pat on the head.

"I'm always nice..." she grumbles.

"Uh-huh, I'm heading back to Konoha, and make sure these idiots don't do anything dumb. Aside from Han and Pakura you're pretty much dealing with super powerful children that like to roam about, be careful."

"Got it," she replies as he leaves her in the hallway.

he quickly makes his way out of the hideout, beginning his short trip back to Konoha.

Arriving atop the outer wall of the village minutes before noon, Jin releases a deep sigh as he looks around.

Hundreds of Naruto's could be seen running around helping the last bits of construction.

He'd been monumentally helpful in cleaning and repairs.

Unity provided the materials but the land of fire didn't have the manpower to spare. Both the Capital and Konoha were devastated, one much more so than the other.

The atmosphere was still not back to normal, people were still grieving, but Jin threw himself back into his work, even now as he leaped across rooftops he sees shops opening back up, once crowded places now barely having anyone.

He hadn't even attended the funeral, requesting to check on the situation in other villages instead. He couldn't stand at the mass funeral as people mourned those he could have easily saved, but chose not to save.

Making his way over to the reconstructed Hokage building, Jin quietly arrived at the roof.

"I'm going inside," he says to the posted chunin. He wasn't in the mood for talking with people right now.

Opening the door and all but running into the building he ignores the smiling faces of people who recognize him, his face tired as he arrives at the Hokage's office.

With gentle knocks, he pushes the door open to see his Kage swamped in paperwork, a pained look plastered across his face as his assistant has a small desk with almost just as much paperwork in front of him.

"Lord Hokage, I'm back..." Jin announces as he closes the door behind himself.

"We've got a problem, it looks like a war between the great nations is about to start if we don't move quickly," the 6th Hokage, Shikaku Nara responds, not even looking up from his paperwork as Shikamaru gives Jin a tired smile from his own desk smaller...
