Chapter 4: The brave warrior of the sea
One piece belongs to Oda sensei
It took us one day and one night to reach the syrup village. As soon as we saw the shore, Luffy was bouncing up and down with excitement of getting a new ship.
When we reached the shore, suddenly there was a menacing voice we heard.
"Leave this village in this instance pirates !"
"I am the brave warrior of the sea Captain Ussop. I have ten thousand warriors under my command. "
"Ten thousand ! This island's population will hardly exceed five hundred. Talk about liar." I retorted.
"Oh no my surprise attack failed ! And I have been exposed."
"Captain ! What should we do ? Should we ran away ?" a little boy asked.
Then came out a fair skinned boy with a not so long nose and black hair. His face was a little feminine. I was shocked after seeing Buggy's nose, I was expecting a very long nose from Ussop. Luffy and Zoro are not so different from what I had seen in anime in my previous life. Heck I have seen a real leaving man inside a treasure box ! But this really is surprising.Then the boy pointed a wooden pistol towards us. It's nozel is wider than normal pistol. I have never seen a wooden pistol before. I wasn't expecting that either. But then I also took out my gun. But Luffy stoped me.
"Tell me. You have drawn your weapon now. Are you ready to use it ?" looking at Luffy, his eyes were really shadowing by the straw hat.
"What !" Ussop was startled. He was starting to sweat. Then suddenly, Luffy went a step ahead.
"Do-Don't y-y-you dare !" Ussop was now visibly sweating.
"I am the great warrior Ussop !"
"Wait Yassop ?" Luffy asked confused.
Hearing a familiar name, Ussop recovered a little from his fear.
"Yassop is my dad. "
"Really ! Wow ! You are Yassop's son !" Luffy has now clearly forgotten acting like Shanks and visibly excited.
"You know my dad ?" Ussop was confused as well.
"Yea .He was in Shanks crew."
"Okay ! It seems you two know each other. So how about we talk about it while eating ."
...
"Hey Ussop, if you don't mind, that pistol seems to be hand made."
"Yes ! you are right. I made this pistols miself. And special bullets as well.These bullets creat smoke and loud sound to scare of pirates." Ussop told us excitedly.
"Wow you are a genius. Can I see it ?" I asked or more like pleaded.
"Here ."
This Ussop is a genius. He has made a magnetic spring board which can fire the bullet to more distance than usual spring system, since he is not useing any gun powder. The bullets are wrapped in threads. But they are like small firecrackers which goes off by a little fiction. I thought that I will see a long nose boy with a slingshot. But this is really surprising.
"Really, I have to admit, this is a real piece of work. As a gun user my self, I have to admit, This is really incredible. I would have never thought of the idea of useing a magnetic spring to launch the bullet."
"Really ! Ofcourse! it is awesome. Because I made it afterall !" Ussop said rising his chest.
"By the way, We are looking for a ship." Zoro opened his mouth after a long time.
"Yea ! hey Ussop! we are searching for a ship. We have enough money to buy one."
"Really ! Then I might help you. I know the perfect place to get a new ship. But, what is there in for me ?"
"What do you want ?" I asked suspiciously. Because it is suspicious. Ussop was never this type .
"I want two things. I want you to help me capture a traitor. And secondly, I want to join your crew. I have a dream. I want to visit all the ocean, and really become a brave warrior of the sea."
"Okay." Luffy answered instantly.
.......
This is suspicious. Is Ussop a reincarnated person as well. I am not sure. But if he is, then it will explain his intelligence. I might be overthinking it, but I have to conferm it later.
After that, Ussop explained everything about captain Kuro. He told us that he was planning something hideous , but what exactly, he doesn't know. After that, Ussop went towards the mansion of the owner of that island. Next day we all went to the different shore. Ussop sent away his lacky because this time, we are facing actual pirates. This time, we don't have to ran around the entire shore because, we actually knew what is captain Kuro is planning.
I and Zoro were able to wipe out most of the black cat pirates. Luffy's fight against Kuro was exactly like canon. Ussop took care of Jongo the hypnotiser. But this worries me a lot. As much as I like Luffy's personality, if his fighting style does not improve, we are going to be in a tough spot in future. And I absolutely don't want him to lose his brother Ace. Luffy got some injuries fighting captain Kuro. Zoro got a little bruised up as well. I am pretty fine because of my devil fruit power. Call me a coward, I don't care. but I have had my fair share of hard times in the past as well. I am thinking of teaching Luffy and Zoro observation haki.This will increase our survival rate a lot. Honestly I don't want to relay on Luffy's devil's luck to escape from tight spots.
After the fight was over, most of the black cat pirates escaped including Jongo. Two days after, marines took away Kuro. Next day, we got our own ship Going Merry. We got it free because, we helped the island. That left us with the same amount of cash that we had before. Ussop drew our own pirate flag, a skull wearing a straw hat. After that, we took some rest.
"Ussop, I want to ask you something. "
"What it is Nami ?"
"I will be blunt . Are you a reincarnator ?"
.... After a long staring, Ussop opened his mouth. He said in a grim voice -"Yes."
"Wait, does that mean you are one as well ?"
"Yes."
"I see. I hope that the decisions you took doesn't turn out bad as mine."
"What do you mean ?"
"You don't have a tattoo of Arlong pirates on your arm. That means you evaded Arlong. Knowing future is good. But the decision we took have their own consequences. I have to learn that in a hard way."
"What do you mean ? What happened with you ?"
"I got my memories of my previous life when I was four and half years old. My mother was sick at that time. I wanted to save her. So using my past knowledge as a automobile engineer, I decided to make motor boats, sell them and took my mother to a doctor . I successfully sold some blueprints to marines, and able to collect enough money to pay for the doctor when I was six, But everything gone wrong. Because of me my mother died in the hands of the pirates, instead of a normal death. Because of my cowardishness my mother paid the price." With saying that,Ussop was crying."You have devil fruit powers. and have evaded Arlong. I don't know that you love your family or not, as they are not truly yours. But every action has it's consequences."
That threw me out of loop. I then evaluated my actions.
"I do love them. They are not any anime characters. They are living, breathing persons. I visited cocoyashi village six months ago. Except for monetary torture, and dictatorship, Arlong hasn't killed anyone yet."
"That's good I guess."
"Nami foooood !"
....."I think we should go for Sanji next."
" Yea no kidding, Luffy's stomach is something else."
So our adventures continued.
