Chapter 55: Chapter 55 - First Class [5]

I watched carefully as Arthur and Adrienne fought, the difference in skill was all too clear. Arthur was perfectly predicting every movement that Adrienne would make, and countering them as best as he could.

Adrienne swung her sword downwards, but, using his greatsword he deflected her attack and took the chance to launch a condensed blast of flame into her stomach. The condensed ball of fire packed a punch to say the least, the recoil caused Arthur's arm to shake and it even pushed him back a little.

Magic was the creation of Mana by means of the conversion of Mana, but it still sort of followed physics. Because of that, propelling oneself using fire or wind Magic was possible. However, Awakened who used Fire Magic didn't typically like to use fire for mobility.

That was because it was just difficult to pull off and even harder to control. They could also strength their attacks by using fire to propel themselves forward, like if they were punching someone, they could form a flame from their elbow to accelerate their attack, but that could just end up in a dislocated arm.

Compared to that, Wind Magic was much easier to use for mobility as the gales formed were much easier to control the output of. It was also much easier to use blasts of wind to throw your body around compared to using fire.

And with that in mind, Arthur launched himself into air by creating wind at the bottom of his feet, trying to make some space between himself and our teacher.

However, Adrienne looked up at him, bearing her fangs at him, she jumped causing the ground beneath her to crack.

However, I had stopped paying attention to the battle by now because of something else that had come to mind.

Any movement causes air to be displaced, for example, shaking like how Arthur's hands shook from the physical recoil of his attack. That should've displaced a small amount of air.

What if I tried generating and manipulating wind pressure by making all of my body shake?

I had superb control over my body, I can quite literally feel my cells replicate when I use Arcane Magic. But, what if I used the sensation of pain to help me control each individual cell? If I can vibrate each individual cell, then I would be able to form and control a tremendous amount of wind pressure.

Well, probably. I could very well just fail totally, and not manage to create a Mana Art. But, that wasn't exactly something I hadn't considered. Mana Arts that you attempted to create were never guaranteed to succeed.

Faling was a part of life, it's impossible for people to succeed at whatever they want just because they try a little. That's just not how life works.

I know that I'm in a novel where my existence itself is miraculous, but not everything will just go my way. The world bend over backwards to accommodate my needs, or anyone else's.

'Well, maybe for Arthur, it would. But he doesn't count. His existence is a cheat.'

As they fought, I noticed Arthur getting tired, and Adrienne approached him while they were in the air, he was slower to react. This wasn't due to exhausting his Mana, after all, due to his efficency and fairly large Mana Capacity he wasn't close to running out from a short exchange.

But, it looked his body was beginning to tire and because of that, his output was also decreasing. Adrienne took notice, and looked at me as her body rushed towards Arthur.

I knew what she wanted, a 2 on 1. And so, I obliged, enhancing my body with Arcane Magic and then using Blood Manipulation to strengthen myself even further. And so, I unleashed a ginormous wave of blood at incredibly high pressures, creating a wall between Arthur and Adrienne.

Now that I didn't have a sword in my hand, I didn't have to worry about running out of blood.

Once Arthur landed, I used the blood I had unleashed to form several swords which I fired off in rapid succession at Adrienne. I could've made arrows or spears, but I was more comfortable making swords.

They were something I had wielded ever since I got here, so they were easier to visualise and therefore, create.

Magic required visualisation, if you couldn't visualise it, there was no way for you to begin to manifest it through Magic. To an extent, the same worked for combat.

If you can't even visualise winning, you probably won't win. That's just how it works.

And so, I believe in this thing called 'the winner mentality.' And that is the absolute belief in victory, victory to me is survival.

So long as I don't die, I win.
