Chapter 9: chapter 9: A waste of time.

Hearing that they would finally be going back Nasha's eyes sparkled, she couldn't wait to see her parents again.

Aina on the other hand had a complicated look on her face. Noticing her expression, Elrica looked at her, that along with applying slight pressure from her {Intimidation} skill made Aina speak after hesitating for a bit.

"Can I stay here?" She asked.

"If you still feel unwell we can wait a few more days." Elrica said which made Nasha slump.

"No, I mean can I stay here and live with you in the future?" Aina timidly asked.

'What a waste of time.' Elrica thought

"Very well, after escorting Nasha back to her village I will come back." Elrica said.

Elrica needed only one person to show her the way, that was the only use they held after all. As for coming back? That wasn't a lie, after escorting Nasha she would definitely rush back to Aina.

However if Elrica had to take one person back to Aldia it would definitely have to be Aina, Nasha was just a peasant farm girl w

Aina on the other hand was the only daughter of a proud family of knights back in Aldia, bringing her back would surely make her family thankful enough at least to the extent of giving her a decent set of equipment.

Two days after, Elrica and Nasha set off towards Nasha's home village. It wasn't Aldia but it was close to it.

The journey took a week, over that week Elrica would carve lines every now and then on trees, that was to make sure that Nasha wouldn't lead them and so that she could make her way back without a guide.

In the evening of the seventh day, Nasha and Elrica finally broke through the endless trees to reveal extensive plains covered in golden wheat fields.

On top of a large hill sat a few houses surrounded by a tall wooden wall.

Looking at the familiar sight, Nasha's eyes moistened as her heart was filled with nostalgia right before Elrica's sword pierced through it from the back.

Weakly holding out her hands

"Mother...." Nasha muttered before her body turned limp.

Elrica shook Nasha's body off her sword and it crushed on the floor as her blood spluttered.

'it got on my boots' Elrica thought as she looked at her blood stained boots.

Grabbing Nasha's body by the leg, Elrica vanished back into the wood work.

•••••

Five days later in a shallow pond, a platinum haired woman could be scene standing in it.

Her green were narrowed in concentration as she held on to a wooden spear tightly.

The sun shined brilliantly casting its glorious rays on the platinum haired beauty making her platinum hair glow.

Suddenly the woman moved plunging her spear down in a power motion and impaling two fish on its tip.

While walking back to the cave, Aina saw a trail of white smoke in the direction of the cave.

Hurrying her steps, she smelled the familiar smell of cooked meat as she got closer and once she arrived at the cave, she found Elrica, grilling some strange racoon like forest creature.

Noticing Aina's arrival, Elrica looked up at her and beconned her over with a gesture.

"I made us breakfast, come and eat."Elrica said.

Aina sat across Elrica and said, "You're back early, how did your journey go?"

"The trek was long, but there was no trouble on the way." Elrica said.

"Did you meet Nasha's family?" Aina asked.

"No." Elrica answered.

"Why, I heard they were very nice people, I hope nothing unfortunate happened to them." Aina said.

She had heard of stories of people dying from heartbreak before and hoped that nothing so tragic would happen to poor Nasha.

There was also the possibility of a hoard of monsters destroying Nasha's village and killing everyone.

"I don't like big crowds." Elrica gave an unexpected answer.

In Aina's eyes, Elrica was a powerful and reliable warrior adept in combat. Her appearance was also intimidating not only because of her skill and power but also because of her large stature very uncommon in women.

Although although Elrica didn't notice due to having a similar height in her past body, she was very tall by the standards of this world standing at a height of 185 centimetres (6 ft) a height very uncommon for a woman.

However thinking about it, Elrica had lived in this forest with only her father all her life so seeing a place so packed with people might scare Elrica.

"Oh." Aina voiced her complex thoughts.

Elrica and Aina ate together, afterwards Elrica got up and grabbed Aina by the arm and walked away from the cave.

"Are we going somewhere?" Aina asked but didn't resist as she was dragged by Elrica inside the forest.

A minute later, Elrica came back alone, took a nap, prepared some food and set back towards the village again.
