Chapter 1: Death
This is my first time writing a story so please forgive my grammar

Lex groaned in a groggy voice, his surroundings pitch black. "Where... am I?" Memories of the explosion flooded his mind, and he winced as he touched his injured face.
Lex was an assassin who had fallen into a trap set by his wealthy client. The bomb he planted had detonated prematurely, betraying him. Anger surged within him as he realized he had been compromised, a common occurrence in his line of work to eliminate evidence and silence witnesses.
Lost in his thoughts, Lex suddenly heard a majestic voice from behind. "Hello, Lex." The empty black space transformed into an ancient room, revealing a man with golden hair and blue eyes sitting before him.
Cautiously, Lex asked, "Who are you?"
"I am the one who summoned you here," the man replied.
Perplexed, Lex questioned, "Why am I in this place?"
"I summoned you to become my apostle and carry out missions for me. In return, I offer you a chance at a new life," the man explained.
Curious about the nature of the missions, Lex inquired further.
"Mostly assassinations of troublesome individuals," the man responded.
Lex hesitated, waiting for any additional information. The room fell into silence, allowing him time to contemplate and make a decision.
Finally, Lex spoke with resolve, "I accept."
"Very well. What would you like as your special ability?" the man asked.
"A system," Lex requested.
"Granted. Now, you must be on your way. Go," the man commanded, clapping his hands.
As the man's hands clapped together, a white light engulfed the room, and both figures vanished, propelling Lex into his new path.
