Chapter 34: XXXIII
"Our runway project is getting closer, I really hope to finish this dress soon" Indigo spoke as she sewed buttons on the dress she was making.
"You looked tired" Kannon spoke to her friend as she continued to sew pieces of fabrics.
Her pair of golden eyes were greatly focused on her, seemingly very passionate with what she is doing.
"Not getting enough sleep?~" Kannon teased her friend while wiggling her eyebrows. Hearing about it, Indigo furiously blushed as she glared at Kannon.
"Enough talking and more sewing!" suddenly a familiar stern voice sounded from the behind as the teacher stared at them with her measuring gaze.
It was so intense that it felt like she was rather measuring their worth. Kannon and Indigo hastily do their work when everyone in the room started to gasp in awe.
"Yui your work is amazing!!"
"I can't believe the details"
"I have never seen anything like this!"
Indigo that was caught by the sudden burst of attention towards Yui could not help but get curious and lifted her head "Is that really Yui?".
Kannon who heard Indigo turned to look at her and furrowed her brows with her friend's astound expression.
She shifted her head towards Indigo's line of sight and her eyes widened with surprise. It was Yui's excellent piece of work, the skirt alone was enough to make everyone speechless.
The smooth ombre colour of light purple and dark blue purple covered with thin gloss fabric that embroidered with small uneven sizes of crystals that were arranged into constellations while other crystals were scattered to have an impression of stars. It was so beautiful that even their strict teacher was speechless.
As if looking at the starry night on the clear sky, Yui's masterpiece could just take someone's breath away. Kannon could not help but had her hand strangely shaking.
[What is this?]
She thought to herself holding her right hand with her left and furrowed her brows as she stared at it. Kannon hate to admit it but seeing Yui's work made her quite nervous towards her own. If Yui is very capable then it would possibly increase the standards of the judges that will reflect on their grades.
She worked so hard to get in to this school and now she had to work twice as hard to maintain a high grade to continue.
Even though Indigo might be slacking in her work, her sketching skills is only second to Yui while Kannon is average in all skills.
"Damn these business trips are taking a toll on me" Dakota spoke as she laid on the bed after loosening her white blouse.
She was currently on a hotel in Pavo State, just inside Sector Cinq, visiting the branch family or her so called relatives. The Kaede family is a big family with branch families in Sector Uno and another Sectors as well, with Dakota in the head family and her Grandmother being the family head.
The branch family relies on the businesses of the head family as they are the ones that manage the business entities while the head family controls it as a whole.
Dakota being the heir in the family has to engage herself in her relatives to get to more familiar with them in business but on actual terms.
[Keep them on leash]
Dakota thought with a laugh, a few of her relatives seemed to be discontented with her position since she did not finish college they thought she'd be stupid enough to handle it. First day of meeting the branch family and she had already taken cafe of a few.
Scaring them a little will make them behave a bit.
[I bet they are quaking right now]
She closed her eyes with a wide grin on her face. Feeling her phone vibrating on the bed Dakota lazily answered it without even looking at the caller's ID.
"Speak" her tone was quite annoyed and lazy.
"O-oh..are you busy? I'll call you later then" it was Kannon's voice that made Dakota immediately sat upright and raked her hair backwards with her fingers.
"Kannon! I'm sorry I thought it was Leto, he was bothering me since earlier" Dakota lied with a straight face making up an excuse with her earlier attitude.
"Should I just lock the door since you are still not home yet" Kannon's tone was unusually very soft and low.
[She must be worrying if I have spare keys]
Dakota pinched the space between her brows remembering that she forgot to inform Kannon about her sudden business trip. She was caught unaware too and just earlier this morning Dakota was surprise that her father suddenly made her visit the branch family.
"Ahh...tsk.I was so busy and I forgot to tell you I will be away for a few days..I'll probably back on Sunday" Dakota staring at the small calendar on the small desk beside her bed.
Thinking of it made her mood sour, she'll be away from Kannon for a few days while facing troublesome ugly faces in work.
"Alright"
"Hey! Are you busy?" Dakota got up in bed and walked towards the balcony while gazing at the stars.
"Why is that?" Hearing that Kannon's voice turned suspicious thinking that Dakota might be up on something.
If she had anything to learn from Dakota that is, she is very cunning with a grin on her face.
"I just wanted to hear your voice, how is my kitten doing?~" almost kissing her phone Dakota just heard Kannon suddenly hung up on her.
"Feisty kitten" she chuckled.
"Who's your kitten?!" Kannon had her cheeks puffed as her gloomy mood immediately shifted to a sulking.
"Humph!!"
Doesn't that mean that if she didn't call her then she would not even know that Dakota went to a long business trip?! She waited for nothing, wasted her cooking skills and put Dakota's dinner to fridge.
Kannon shifted her head to the box in her room, it contained the dress she was making. Their teacher allowed them to bring their work home so they could finish it, after all just an hour per day in school to work on it is not enough along with other school works they have.
"Being a student is hard!!"
Kannon slumped on the bed thinking about Dakota despite being the same age as her is already working on a big company with a high position.
[Of course nepotism at its finest]
She thought but it did not cloud her judgement towards Dakota being very capable in her work.
