Adrienne was half asleep when Lennox returned. She expected him to wake her up but who knew he would rest his head opposite her, his warm breath tickling her face instead? She suddenly felt conscious of being too close to this man. She wondered what Lennox was thinking at that moment. Though she was somewhat rude at him at times, this man was unexpectedly patient with her.

She then heard him say, "I hope someday, you'll find the happiness you deserve."

Adrienne felt her chest tightening upon hearing those words. She had never considered her own happiness since her rebirth. What fueled her will to live was nothing but revenge. Her personal aspirations and happiness weren't part of her priority list.
