Chapter 251: Reunited (1)

Adrienne was tense as they made their way to the Zhao estate. She walked up the stairs with dread, her heart beating harshly in her chest. Lennox held her hand, and her Uncle Reese was right before her, but not even their presence could set her at ease. She was scared of what she would find when she walked through her mother's door.

Old Madam Zhao jumped anxiously from her seat when Adrienne entered. Adrienne's grandfather also looked relieved to see Adrienne arrive with her husband. 

"Addie..." She said with her eyes shining with tears before she pointed to Rosemary's bed, and to Adrienne's surprise, her mother was looking back at her, her lips curling in a small smile. 

Adrienne stood frozen on the spot. She couldn't believe it. Her mother had been in a coma for years, and the doctors had given little hope of her waking up. The sight of her smiling and acknowledging Adrienne's presence filled her with a mix of relief and disbelief.
