Reds Reset Chapter 109

Link sat in his room, thinking about his upcoming fight with the Ghouls. He was a bit nervous but excited at the same time. It seemed like yesterday Link was struggling to kill a Level 1 Monster, whom he almost died to alongside his father.

He became a Level 3 Mage now, and with the enormous Mana pool he possesses, Link can fight a Level 4 Monster on even grounds with ease. His most powerful asset is his access to an endless number of Skills and his ability to Level them up to new heights. Link decided to make use of his advantages.

He remembered his fight with the bandits group, how the Archer Feo fired a barrage of arrows towards him. He knew that with a Skill like that he won't need average arrows anymore. It won't be long before his quiver with its limited Arrows became an obstacle to him. So Link decided to look for a Skill similar to what she used.

It did not take him long to find one.

Link bought it and still had a lot of Skill Points to spare. So he decided to Max out a Skill. And he chose 'Heal' for obvious reasons. It was the Skill that might decide everything.

Link was shocked. Skill Evolutions were extremely rare, but he did not only get it, but also got to choose from a variety of Paths, as the System said.

"What does this mean?" He asked.

<I'm as shocked as you are. I'm guessing that 'Healing Wave' Heals a group of people, but the first two, i don't know what's the difference between them>

"'Greater Heal seems like the better version of the old one, but Holy Light sounds… Holy" Link frowned.

"Ghouls are Undead, right?" Link asked.

<Yeah>

"Does that mean they are Unholy Creatures? Ones created from death? Is that why Heal harms them since it has the opposite element?" Link continued "Would 'Holy Light' have a better effect?"

After hearing that, Link pressed 'Holy Light'. Receiving his new Skill.

"It sounds like the Skill of the Paladin from a game I played way back" Link smiled.

<What's a Paladin?>

"Not sure. They're supposed to be the servants of God that do his bidding or something. All i remember is that the Paladin did the most damage to the Undead, so it won't hurt to try" Said Link.

<Nope.. It might actually hurt. Try it on the Undead outside first>

Hearing what Zero said, Link remembered. Rushing into battle was not an option anymore. Link knew very well that he might actually die facing those monstrous Creatures by himself. Which made him a bit hesitant.

"I need a Tank" Link muttered.

"No, not that kind of Tank" Link laughed "A Tank is someone or something that takes damage for you. And i have a good idea who we can use as one"

<Who?>

"Zasho" Link had a sinister grin.

Link left for the woods, killing a group of goblins in seconds and leaving Zasho to feed.

As he sat atop a tree. Link started browsing the Shop. That was when he realized.

"I need a better weapon" Link muttered "The one I have is nothing but an Intermediate Level 1 Beast Soul. If not for the Mana Imprint, it would have broken a long time ago" Link started looking at the different weapons in the Shop, Finding one that caught his eye..

['2' Level 3 Beast Cores]

['1' Iron Ingot]

['10' Killer Bee's Iron Stingers]

The reason Link was interested in that Weapon specifically was because he actually heard of the Killer Bee Creature. Unlike all the other Daggers, he finally recognized the name of the material needed. He saw Hunting Quests with its name on the Guild's board so many times. Though Link never took any interest in hunting bugs. They bothered him a little.

Ding!

Link was lost in thought when he heard the familiar sound.

<Dire Wolf's Beast Soul> <Pet> <Basic Level 2> <2 000 / 2 000> -- New --

"Finally" Link smiled "I knew it'll be something like this so i got some in advance" Link said, proceeding with the Wolf's Evolution.

Zasho shone a bit, but when the light was gone Link did not notice any changes other than it's Aura.

"So you're a Level 3 Creature now? Good" Link had a creepy grin on his face. But it did not last long after he opened the Beast Souls Tab.

"Skills? What the hell" Link frowned.

"Not sure. But what skills can it have?"

Link reached and pressed the three dots. A message appeared in front of him.

<[Bite] / [Mutilate] / [Harden] / [Wolf Alpha's Howl] / [Health Regeneration]>

Link was impressed. The Skills looked powerful, especially the 'Mutilate' and 'Wolf Alpha's Howl'.

Mutilate was a Combo of slashes. Zasho will deliver several devastating attacks with his sharp claws to the enemy, hitting every opening and weak spot.

Wolf Alpha's Howl was a boosting Skill where a Damage and Speed boost is applied to its allies.

"Wow, Nice" Link gave Zasho a thumbs up. It looked at his finger with its head tilted in confusion.

After a bit, Link stood in a giant field. Green grass covered the ground like a beautifully crafted carpet. Trees were well dispersed all over the place. Though Link sighed. There was one thing out of place that ruined the gorgeous image. The giant Bees with huge spikes for limbs and sharp stringers. They were huge and disturbing to look at.

One had blood all over its mouth from its meal. A dead Goblin laid on the ground, being fed on by several other Bees.

"I fucking hate bugs" Link muttered. He pulled out his bow and a purple Arrow appeared, taking place gently between his fingers and settling onto the bow string. "I'm not getting close to those things" Link said as he powered his weapons with 'Mana Print' and started to fire.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Link was ruthless. He spared none and wiped them out. Some survived the barrage of Arrows and attempted to attack, but right after they were shot and killed.

<Killer Bee Killed>...

The announcements kept appearing as Link showed no mercy. "Die!"

(Two Hours Later)

<50 000 Exp Acquired>

<50 000 Permanent Mana Point Acquired>

<Stab: Gives the User the power to penetrate any surface with great force by using a sharp weapon>

Link collected all the resources he needed and successfully got his new Dagger. It had a yellow handle with a Black Blade. It was mysterious and badass.

"Alright. What else do we have left?" Link asked.

"Oh. yeah, sure" Link agreed and headed back to his room. He no longer feared Leveling Up the Skill. He only did it for whatever physical boost he might receive.

"As expected, not much happened" Link barely felt anything when the Leveling up process was over.

It was a long day for Link, he yawned and stretched his arms and legs. "I'm going to bed" He muttered as he laid lifelessly on the soft bed. Quickly drifting into a deep sleep.

Time went by and Link's preparations were all ready. He stood on a hill, with the mountain in front of him . The Undead Hordes were still roaming around aimlessly.

"Wait, can Healing magic work on all Undead Creatures?" Link wondered. He saw an Undead Knight getting separated from his group. Link decided to ambush it. He snuck up on it with all his Stealth Skills active and cast 'Holy Light'.

Tcht!

Link saw the Creature keep walking like nothing was happening, but its body was smoking. It sounded like meat on a grill.

The bones started to slowly corrode and lose their previous sturdy look. They became frail and weak looking, but the Creature did not even realize what was happening to it.

"Zasho, go attack" Link ordered.

Zasho ran towards the Undead Knight, growling at the Fiend menacingly "Use Mutilate" Link gave another order. Its claws shone, and the wolf performed a series of slashes so quick they turned the poor Undead into small pieces. It looked like Zasho had no resistance whatsoever as its Claws crushed the bones with ease.

"Is the Skill too strong or was that due to 'Holy Light'?" Link wondered. He started luring Creatures and testing all the ideas that came to mind. Until he figured it out. "'Holy Light' Has a huge effect. It weakens their defenses and ruins their Bodies. Zasho's attack isn't weak either but it still had some resistance without Holy Light being used on the target"

<You've made a good choice choosing that Skill>

Link puffed his chest and snuck inside the Cave. He walked through the eerie and familiar path until he reached the hall.

"It's time"
