Chapter 75: The Tournament! (3)
"Chloe and Sen" Bai yelled after Link and Rafael left the ring.
A girl with blond smooth hair, green eyes and a beautiful face stepped forward, catching everyone's attention.
Link recognized her, he saw her when he first woke up in the Academy and met her again in the Library.
"So her name is Chloe" Link thought.
Sen was a dwarf with a giant hammer as his weapon of choice, while Chloe had a pair of gloves with small spikes covering her fist.
After their introduction, Sen lifted his arm and hit the floor with his hammer.
Boom!
The hit did not look strong, but the results were astonishing. The floor cracked, random stones and dust covered the area.
The audience was unable to see much, but only hear the sounds of fighting.
"That dwarf is good, do you think the pretty girl will lose?"
"Probably, that was the dwarf race's Smash spell, they mostly use it to break materials or equipment to forge but he used it to create obstacles and hinder her vision"
"That's smart"
Students started talking to each other since they were unable to see much.
5 Minutes later, it went quite as the dust started to settle.
A figure started to slowly appear, it was Chloe.
"Chloe Wins" Bai announced.
"What happened?"
"I don't know"
Sen was next to her, with the barrier activated.
"She's strong" Link thought to himself. He managed to witness the fight due to his excellent vision.
It might have sounded like it lasted 5 Minutes, but Link saw Sen lose in one.
He moved around the rubble, trying to find a blind spot to strike Chloe from. She kept looking forward unaware so he jumped to attack. That was when she moved like a snake, her fist shone in a dim red light and struck Sen, forcing the barrier to appear.
She did not stop though, proceeding to attack the barrier over and over again. She frowned, and Link clearly heard her say "Why can't i do what he did?"
"Do i have a little fan?" Link smirked.
<Don't get your hopes up>
"Shut up"

Other fights took place but Link found all of them uninteresting, class ended and everyone started leaving.
Link was talking with his friends when someone blocked his way, it was Rafael.
"Why does every person in this Academy keep blocking my way like I'm in some kind of dramatic action movie?" Link sighed, moving closer to him.
"I don't know what gave you the courage to dare do that to me" Rafael spoke, pointing at Link with anger "I will do everything in my power to see you squirm" After he finished what he came there to say, Rafael walked away.
Link stood there looking at him "I guess i touched a nerve" he thought.
"Link, He looks really pissed, what if he does something?" Tom was worried.
"Yeah, what if he sneak attacks you while you're outside?" Fei added.
"Outside? He needs a Power Level over 10 to go out, I'm safe don't worry." Link said.
"No, his Power Level Reached 10 already, he has an upperclassmen relative or something, I heard that he got so many resources from him." Samuel said.
"Good for him i guess, you guys don't have to worry about anything, i'll be fine" Link was not worried at all, even if his relative upperclassmen and himself attacked Link, he was sure running away would be easily achievable, if he ever needed to he has Blink to aid him with his escape after all.

The days went by smoothly. Other than the Gathering Missions and watching the Tournament Fights, Link started studying in the Library.
When Link was outside, he saw a Plant that looked like an average Rose but with black petals, he found it creepy so he left it. Later at the Mission Hall, he saw another student holding it in his hand, waiting for it's evaluation.
"That's a Devil flower, you got lucky" The staff member said.
"How much would I get for it?" The student asked.
"I can give you 150 Points"
Link nearly banged his head on the wall. Like an idiot he let a 150 Points worth flower slip away. He even went back to the spot where he saw it and did not find it there anymore.
That's when he decided to start studying about everything related to the resources and materials available in the forest.
A couple of weeks went by with the same routine, until the finals of the Tournament finally arrived.
Fei and Link made it through easily, even Chloe did not find any difficulties reaching that point, she beat every opponent that came against her, and she did not relent on trying to break the barrier like Link did. In every fight she would keep attacking it until Bai stopped her.
There were 8 people left. Link, Fei, Chloe, Janet, Leo, Garry, Guss and Steve.

Link stood in the Ring, facing a skinny kid with black eyes and dark skin, he was from the Demon race, Leo.
The fight started with Leo casting a spell, black smoke started to slowly cover the Area.
"This is going to be a pain in the ass" Link thought to himself, as he started to lose sight of Leo. This was a blinding spell, which even with Link's impressive sight, it managed to work on him.
<Use shadow Walk>
"Would it work here?" Link asked. He thought of that too but he was not sure if the condition would be met or not. But he activated it, and to his surprise, it worked.
"What did he do?" Leo was walking towards Link, his eyes shining in a light red color when he saw his opponent vanish all of a sudden.
The black smoke is a popular Area effect Demon spell called 'The Black Abyss' it did not only blind the enemy but also mess with all their other senses. Leo managed to learn the first part of the spell, but that was enough to completely blind others, while he'll have perfect vision inside it. Seeing Link vanish like that made him question if he cast the spell correctly.
Bam!
Leo felt a hard punch hit his side, sending him to the ground.
"What the hell?" Leo was confused, he neither saw nor heard anything come at him.
"Sorry Leo" Link said, using his dagger to strike towards his neck.
Ding!
The barrier appeared, blocking the attack.
"Link is the winner" Bai announced, even when the smoke was still there he somehow still managed to know that the fight came into an end. "That Link kid is impressive, even i barely sensed him, not bad" Bai thought to himself, he had eyes that can see through everything, even 'The Black Abyss' Spell did not hinder him in the least, but when Link used 'Shadow Walk' Bai barely managed to see or sense him.
The smoke vanished, Leo and Link appearing to the crowd.
"That was fast"
"Didn't Leo cast that spell? How is he the one to lose that quickly?"
"Don't you remember? That's the kid who nearly broke the Barrier fighting against Rafael"
"That's him?"
"I wish i could have seen the fight"
Link became somewhat of a popular kid with his fights, he always ended everything quickly and with no remorse, making him the most likely candidate to Win.
"Fei and Chloe" Bei yelled.
Like usual, after their introductions the fight started.
Fei was planning on staying away from Chloe, since he uses a bow and she has Gloves on, but he was confused, she did not move at all.
"Are you not going to attack?" Fei asked.
"In a fight, you can not get distracted that easily" She spoke, making Fei flinch.
He looked down, finding out that his feet were slowly sinking into the ground, it was like quicksand, and as hard as Fei tried he was unable to get out.
"How? I only stood in place for a few seconds" Fei asked looking at her.
"I started casting it when we were introducing ourselves" She answered, her voice calm showing no emotions.
"That's cheating" Fei protested.
"In a fight, an enemy can have all sorts of traps and tricks prepared beforehand. Saying not fair or calling it cheating is ridiculous, our fight started the moment we stood inside the ring." Chloe continued "Did you really think i'll start chasing you around like all the others did?"
Fei froze for a bit, finding her words logical. Plus, if it really was cheating then Bai would have stopped it already.
"I lost then" Said Fei, unable to move his feet.
The next two fights were average, ending up with Janet and Guss's advancement.
"Alright, Link and Chloe" Bai spoke, making other students start whispering.
"Who do you think will win?"
"Chloe of course"
"But Link ended all his fights in seconds, and he showed that he's strong enough to even break the barrier"
"Yeah, but Chloe will still win"
"You're thinking with your head right?"
Link and Chloe stood facing each other, no one attacked.
Chloe looked at Link and opened her mouth "I don't like you" she said.
Link frowned "What?" He did not know where that was coming from.
"Did he just get rejected even before asking her out?"
"Wait, Link asked Chloe out?"
"I guess so, why else would she say something like that"
"Ouch!"
"It's ok Link, don't be sad"
"Cheer up Link"
"There are plenty of fish in the sea man, don't worry about it"
Link got angry and yelled "I didn't confess, what are you all talking about"
