"The reason I called you here is to reward you for your contributions and you should have already been informed of your awards as champions of the tournament."
"The school will be aiding our team in selecting a compatible spirit ring, correct?"
"Yes, now I will be presenting you for you help in the crisis. These were actually specifically selected by the headmaster." He places two small bottles onto te table first. Long Chen instantly recognized what it was.
"Mystic water pills!"
"You are correct. I'm sure these pills will greatly improve your spirit power and raise your talents even further. Now, as for the second gift." Director Du places three bags onto the desk, "You have been given the privilege to select a spirit bone of your liking out of these three."
'A spirit bone?! Who knew I'd be getting one this early?'
Staring from the right, the first one is a right arm spirit bone from the 1000 year old golden demon ape. It increases the user's physical strength and endurance with an intimidation ability.
The next is a left leg spirit bone from a 30 000 year old shadow panther. This spirit bone naturally greatly increases speed and agility while the user gains the ability of travelling within the shadows.
The last one is a skull bone from a 20 000 Mirage spirit which enhances the user's wisdom and maintain calmness with an immunity to mental type attacks.
'The school is really being gnerous here. Not only are all three compatible with me, two of them are also from over 10 000 year old spirit beasts. "Is it alright for the school to provide me with such valuable treasures?"
"Getting this much is only natural considering your contributions. If you believe this is too much, think of it this way, Shrek is investing in your potential and future." Director Du replies. "Go ahead and pick one."
"I understand. Thank you for your considerations." I turn my attention back at the spirit bones in front of me. Truth be told, I had wanted a more direct attack ability since I realized from my fight with Ma Xiao Tao and Dai Yaoheng that I was lacking in that area. 'Should I go with the first one then? No, since two 10 000 year old spirit bones are in front of me, I don't want to waste such opportunity. A shadow ability sounds nice but I'm not gonna be an agility attack types spirit master.'
'The last option is....the skull bone. Having calmness and a faster thought process may be helpful in battle. An immunity to mental attacks sounds nice too if it weren't for the fact that mental type spirit masters are rare.' This is a tough decision for Long Chen as he frowns, 'But wait, if I'm immune to such attacks then wouldn't that mean Yuhao's and Wang Dong's 1st spirit fusion attack won't work on me? It's precisely because mental type attacks are rare that I need to be more careful when I meet one.'
"I have made a decision. I will be taking the Mirage demon's skull spirit bone."
"The Skull? Not the left leg bone? An unusual choice but alright. Don't forget to not tell anyone or else Shrek may be accused of favourtism and cause a riot among the othet students."
With that, Long Chen took both the pills and the spirit bone before returning to his dorm to begin the absorbing process. Back at the room, he met up with Dai Yaoheng, his roommate. He expressed his concern for his friend after the whole situation. There was already rumors on Ma Xiao Tao whom gained the title of 'Crazed Flame Demon'. They both congratulated each other for getting onto the list for core pupils.
It was only days later, that Long Chen catched on that his title as the Night Prince has been going around the school and nearly every first-years refers to him by that title.

Three months later, Long Chen had successfully increased his spirit energy by several folds and the rate of cultivation had also increased. In a mere 3 months, he raised his spirit rank to 34. Moreover, his skull spirit bone did more than just improve his abilities and an immunity. As someone who has a mirror spirit tool, the bone resonated with his martial spirit and some of his skills evolved.
All students are reallocated to different classes. Disappointingly, Luo Han and Hao Lin are now in a different class than Long Chen. On the other hand, Dai Yaoheng and Ma Xiao Tao are now in the same class 1 as him. The school has inserted their top students into this one classroom.
There was a lot of tension in the air and a lot of students avoided the girl as they couldn't forget the event that occured in the finals of the tournament. The atmosphere became even more tense when Long Chen entered the classroom. The boy himself ignored all the stares and merely sat in his desk. Dai Yaoheng was the only one who went up to talk to him.
(*A/N: Remember I'm just assuming that they are in the same year group since I couldn't find information of their past or exact age. Pretend that it's like this pls)
Unexpectantly, in the middle of their conversation, Ma Xiao Tao got up from her seat and approached them. "Erm.....excuse me."
She call out awkwardly to get their attention, "I need to talk to Student Ming...about what happened...during the tournament."
'She's unexpectantly reserved about this,' Long chen commented, "What about it?"
"...."She was quiet for a moment and took a deep breath in, "I want to apologize for the trouble I caused. I lost my control and..."
"Oh that....well, It's already been 3 months since. There's no need to think about that now."
"But...."
"It's fine. There's no point in fussing over a small mistake. It's more important to focus on classes and imporve our strength."
"You call that a small matter?" Yaoheng, who was standing beside him sweatdrops about how nonchalent his friend towards this. 'Weren't you stuck in the infirmary for a week because of this?'
"I understand. Student Ming really is does have a very calm personality, as expected of the Prince of Night!" She puts a thumbs up.
"Don't call me that. It's weird." Long Chen knew that she was teasing him, 'Weren't you all shy a moment ago, what happened?'
"That's right! Our mysterious and cool Prince of the Night!!" Yaoheng joins in jokingly, seeing that it's such a rare opportunity to tease his ever so indifferent friend.
"Don't you start that too. Besides who are you to talk, you Prince Sun."
"Wha- Don't say such an embaressing name! If anything, I should be Future Tiger King, right!"
"Hahaha! You two have such flashy names!" Ma Xiao Tao laughs as she became amuse at their interaction. The two boys heard her words and turned around to face her with a glint in their eyes.
"Doesn't her demonship have a better title?" Long Chen starts.
"Presenting the Crazed Flame Demon of Shrek!"
"Wha?! I thought you said that it's pointless to think about the past!"
"It is pointless but I said nothing about the name."
"I also heard nothing."
"Are you two ganging up on a girl like me! Can you still call yourself men!"
Watching the supposed three strongest first-years conversing like this made the other students question themselves, 'Was there a need to worry at all?'

Sherry_Silver I know that Ma Xiao Tao and Dai Yaoheng's characters aren't exactly like what they were in the manhua but they are still young right now so it's fine. They'll mature as they grow up, right?
