Evolution for the goblin race is a bit different than others. One is that it rarely happens in caves, as they have to grow strong enough to evolve in the first place. Goblins are weak, so a regular has to reach the strength of a Hobgoblin to evolve into Hobgoblin. There are different types of hobgoblins, with some specializing in CQ combat, Magic, potions, crafting, breeding, etc. It just depends on your personality.
