Chapter 9: Chapter 9
As soon as the dust cloud disappears, on the ground, two pokemon can be seen lying down, fainted and unable to move.
"This battle is a tie! Send out you next pokemon!" the referee says in a loud tone.
'Dam not the ideal situation but it's fine. I will have to make do with what I got thanks a lot. Poochyena.'
Brendan is satisfied with the current outcome, not the ideal situation but doable from his perspective. Norman proceeds to send out Slakoth and Brendan Torchic.
Pokemon: Slakoth (Deep Orange talent)
"Start!"
Both pokemon start tensing up. Both pokemon are currently mid Rookie level, Torchic looking very confident and the Slakoth very lazy (This Slakoth like me when im doing school work lmao).
"Use ember Torchic!"
Slakoth instinctively rolls over.
"Slakoth use leer"
Slakoth succesfully uses leer while waiting for its opponents next move. Brendan doesn't know what his dad is planning and is confused but is keeping his composure.
"Torchic use flame charge!"
Torchic starts to swell up fire energy around itself and starts to sprint at slakoth.
"Slakoth wait till it's close then dodge and use scratch."
Slakoth hearing this, nods and waits only for a few seconds before dodging the flame charge, but getting grazed, Slakoth proceeds to go for two scratches and gets two direct hits. Brendan flinches and within a split second says.
"Torchic quick night slash then fall back and use ember"
Torchic, a little dazed by the two direct scratches, still hears his trainer and goes for a quick night slash. Getting the direct hit Torchic uses quick attacks to get some distance and use ember. The Slakoth, still in pain from the night slash, isn't able to react to the ember and faints.
"Slakoth has fainted! Winner Brendan from Littleroot Town!"
"Wow, you've done an exelent job Brendan. Using growl to counter double team and with your quick decision making was able to win the match!"
Norman exclaims in a suprised tone by his sons genius thinking and quick decisive attacks.
(tbh, if I made Norman try, he would have won lmao, he's a gym leader with years of experience but remember, he's supposed to be looking for talent and give new trainers battle experience if it's their first time. He's not there to absolutely crush newbies lmao.)
"Lets gooo Torchic!"
Brendan shouts, before hand he didn't plan for his father to have a monster Taillow with him but the match ended up in his favour. Before the gym match in route 102, he planned on how to counter double with growl and to use sand attack on skitty as it didn't have any special moves. Then he would power through with Torchic (This man has a Purple talent; Torchic ok).
