Chapter 59: Secret Mission! waku waku!!
"It didn't take long for them to reach Water Seven. "So cool!! A giant fountain," shouted Luffy. "This city looks so amazing," said Usopp in surprise. 'How the hell did they build it? Such an amazing place,' thought Gohan while looking at the city.
They started looking for a place to dock, but some people told them that they were not allowed to dock there and had to go to the dockyard at the back since they were pirates. After a few minutes, they docked their ship.
"Okay, everyone. Nami, Luffy, and Usopp are going to exchange the gold for berries and meet that Iceberg guy. Me, Robin, Merry, and Chopper are going to sightsee and gather information about the Adam's wood," said Gohan.
"Adam's wood?" asked Usopp with a confused look. "That's very rare wood. It's known to be the best wood to build a ship. Gold Roger's ship was made from it," replied Gohan. "Can't we ask the shipwrights about it?" asked Lily.
"That's because it's considered illegal by the World Government for obvious reasons. If we want to use Adam's wood to upgrade Merry, then we will have to find Tom's apprentices," stated Gohan. "Can you stop throwing these random names at us? Now who's this Tom?" asked Nami while feeling annoyed.
"He is the same person who made the sea trains. The best shipwright to ever live. So if we want to make a shipwright our crewmate, then one of his apprentices is perfect for that. Does anyone want to ask anything else?" asked Gohan. Everyone shook their heads, but Merry raised her hand.
Gohan sighed and said, "Go on, Merry." "When are you going to teach me how to fly?" she asked in anticipation. "As soon as your upgrade is completed," replied Gohan. Merry nodded her head, started smiling. Gohan looked around and saw that Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper had also raised their hands, but Gohan chose to ignore them.
"Gohan, if we are looking for Tom's apprentices to upgrade Merry, then why are we meeting Iceberg?" asked Robin. "It's for the backup plan if we couldn't find the people we are looking for. But you are right!! Nami, you guys go and get the money. We will meet Iceberg tomorrow," said Gohan.
Luffy and others left to get the money. Vivi and Sanji left to buy some supplies, Zoro decided to stay on the ship, and Gohan and others left to gather information.
"Wow!! There are so many people!" said Chopper with an amazed look. "Look, some of them are wearing creepy-looking masks," said Merry while looking at the people around her. She was enjoying riding on Chopper's back quite a lot. "Looks like there are lots of tourists here," commented Robin.
Suddenly, Merry sensed something and looked at Gohan. "Gohan!!" she said with a serious expression. "I know! It's just a rat. Don't worry about it," said Gohan with a smile. "Hm! Is someone following us?" asked Robin.
"Yes, to be more precise, he is following you," said Gohan with a smile. Robin's expression changed, and she asked, "Me?" "Yes, you! You don't have to worry though; he is weaker than you. Let's find out why he is following you," said Gohan.
They continued to walk around until the man who was following them was closer to them. "Robin, we are going to make a little distance from you. Be on guard," warned Gohan as he and Chopper walked three to four meters away from Robin.
Suddenly, a masked figure walked towards Robin and whispered something while passing her. Robin was looking at the masked figure while thinking if she should kill him or not. "Robin, Gohan said to go with that masked guy. He has an epic plan," said Merry with an excited face as she came beside her.
Robin looked towards Gohan, who was grinning, and felt a chill run down her spine. Gohan and Chopper acted as if they didn't notice anything and went inside a shop, while Robin followed the masked figure.
"Aren't we going to follow them?" asked Chopper. "We don't have to since Merry can communicate with us from a long range," replied Gohan. "Really?! That's so cool!" said Chopper. "Yes, I think it's because of the bond we share with her. We are very lucky to have Merry with us," commented Gohan.
Meanwhile, at the dock, a man with a long nose like Usopp was standing before Merry. 'So this is the ship of the Straw Hat Pirates. It's very small for such a famous pirate crew. Hm? Why does this thing look brand new? There are no signs of any damage at all. Is this made out of Adam's wood?' thought Kaku.
He was about to touch the ship, but Zoro's voice rang out, "Who are you?" asked Zoro as he appeared beside Kaku. 'What?? How did he get next to me so fast? I didn't even notice him!' thought Kaku in shock.
"Hello! I am a shipwright. I was surprised by the good condition of your ship, so I wanted to check the quality of the wood," said Kaku with a smile. "You are pretty strong for a shipwright," said Zoro. Kaku got surprised but kept the smile on his face and replied, "Yes, we have to take care of pirates on a regular basis, so we have to be strong to protect ourselves," said Kaku.
After that, he disappeared while using Soru. "A shipwright, huh?" muttered Zoro and went back to sleep.
On the other side, Robin and Merry were following the masked man, but were seen by Sanji and Vivi. "Isn't that Robin and Merry? Where are they going?" said Vivi in confusion. Just as they were about to call them, they heard Merry's voice. "Stop!! Just pretend you didn't see us. Me and Robin are on a secret mission."
"Merry??! How can I hear your voice overhead while you are so far away?" asked Sanji in surprise. "Hm? I don't know? But I can talk to you guys like this. Anyways, don't disturb us right now because we are on an important mission," ordered Merry.
Sanji and Vivi looked at each other with confused expressions. "Let's ask Gohan what's going on," said Vivi. Sanji nodded his head.
Robin and Merry followed the masked man to an alley. Suddenly, a door appeared before them. "Go inside," instructed the masked man. Merry looked at the door with a wide smile and said, "Secret mission... a mysterious door... waku waku."
