Chapter 12: Supernatural Awakening
Luke was absolutely terrified by the piercing glowing yellow eyes that are filled with killing intent.
Due to the surprise that Mathias suddenly closed in the distance swiftly, Luke in reflex threw the fireball straight at him, wanting him to stay away. But the blazing fire suddenly splashes to the surroundings as a hand penetrates through it.
Swoosh!
Boom!
With nothing but his bare hands, Mathias hits the fireball as it exploded in his front.
Out of fear of the unknown that slowly wrap around them in a tightening grip, Luke and his friends jumps away and even somersaulted a couple of times showing their nimbleness. It was clear that they receive some sort of training to be able to do that.
Emerging from the blazing fire were the same yellow eyes which makes the three of them gasp.
"No effect? That's not possible, he doesn't have any mana!", Luke exclaimed finding that Mathias eats the fireball explosion without any problem, but his eyes then got attracted to Mathias's hands which looks weird.
It didn't take long for Luke to realize that Mathias's hands were not hands anymore, but claws!
Upon confirming that Mathias is certainly not a human, Luke wanted to flee out of fear but his eyes darted to the left seeing a shadow leaping swiftly and tackling his friend. Looking at his side he finds his friend is being mounted by Mathias that for some reason looks bigger now.
"Raargh!! Help! Help me!!", the guy shouted before his neck got torn gruesomely.
With nothing but a bow as a weapon, the guy has no chance of fighting at close range like this. Blood gushed out from his torn throat like a fountain however, he didn't feel the pain for too long when his entire face got clawed and killed him instantly.
Luke and his other friend were rooted in their spots upon seeing this.
Both of their trembling eyes are looking at the guy's face that is dismantled from that slash, it was very hard to look at the gore and blood that is happening in front of them. Not only that, but Mathias also didn't stop and started ripping the guy's body to shreds while being fueled by the anger inside of him
Snapping out of his daze, Luke knows that he will die if he stayed here any longer.
Mathias has definitely turned into a Supernatural that he has never seen before, he looks like a Shapeshifter that can morph his body into something else but Shapeshifters can only turn into something that already exists.
In his years of life, he has never seen a creature as fearsome as this one. It shouldn't have existed!
"Quick, let's attack him together!", Luke shouted at his other friend.
Although the guy holding a sword beside Luke hesitated as Mathias's current self instill terror inside of him, he decided to listen and Immediately does as he was told. Gripping his sword tightly, the guy charges forward with light steps.
But how he was surprised to see that Luke turns around and ran in the other direction.
Turns out Luke just wanted to buy some time for himself to escape by sacrificing the guy, the feeling of betrayal was present before a powerful force knocks him down to the ground. The guy groans lightly before that groan turns into a painful scream.
The scream reverberated in the night, forcing the animals and insects to flee from the place.
Soon enough the miserable scream slowly started to fade and was exchanged for the sound of flesh being torn and clawed, the splattering of blood can also be heard as the blood dyed the fresh brown ground crimson red.
It turns the beautiful night scenery into a picture painted by the devil itself.
Faran saw this happening from the back, he was also surprised to see something like this which turns the night completely around. It was gloomy before, but now the night is filled with terror.
"M-Mathias...?"
Upon hearing his name being called Mathias glanced at Faran slowly.
Although he already realized that something is off with Mathias for him to be able to do this, Faran feel the air stuck in his throat when the pair of feral yellow eyes are glancing at him. A low growl escapes Mathias's bloodied mouth, making him sound like a beast.
Red lines of blood drizzle down his mouth from eating the flesh of the guys he killed.
Mathias doesn't look like anything he was before as his body is becoming bigger and more muscular, his human fangs have already turned into beastly fangs, black hair started to grow on his arms and even face, and his nails have now turned longer into claws.
Rage and savageness are emitted through those yellow eyes, it was akin to the gaze of a predator.
Even though he only knows Mathias for a day, he knows that these yellow eyes don't belong to Mathias. It was as if Faran is looking at another person occupying Mathias's body, something evil and wicked.
"M-Mathias...?", Faran mutters his name one more time unconsciously.
As if something within him reacted to his name being called, Mathias blinks his eyes a couple of times before his pupil widened once again, "F-Faran? What's going on?", he mutters in confusion as he saw the blood in his hands.
Not only that he can also feel the iron taste filling his mouth to the brim.
Fear started to envelop Mathias's heart as he saw himself in this state, he then unconsciously looks up to the full moon before out of nowhere a powerful invisible force pushes him down to the ground.
"Raargh!", Mathias grunted as he grips the dirt on the ground strongly.
Wailing in absolute terror while looking at his own two hands, Mathias saw his already long nails grow even longer and ripped his skin. Blood seeped out uncontrollably as the pain forced him to let out a loud scream that echoed to the surroundings.
Realizing the changes happening to his body, Mathias uses his last bit of strength to dash away.
Not wanting to hurt Faran that is watching him being like this from the side, he decided to use every last bit of his sanity and strength to leave the place. But as he reaches a distance away, the pain inside his body only grew.
"Haah! A-Am I transformi- aghh!", Mathias feels his human fangs also grow even longer.
Crack!

Mathias crouches in a weird position on the ground as he can feel something moving inside his body, it feels like a snake slithering inside his body and knocking everything. It didn't take long for him to realize that it was his bones, his bones are growing and breaking constantly.
The pain brought by this process is excruciating, it overwhelms Mathias's mind completely.
As he watches his own body transforming, he started to realize what he was transforming into, 'Hearing those ghouls from a distance, got attacked by the Urban Wishing Tree, and even the crack on the tree I punched yesterday. Don't tell me that they were not just weird occurrences...'
Experiencing something like this, Mathias started to realize the weird ability he possesses.
Despite he puts the blame on the new body that he received, it seems there's more than meets the eye. Being very strong that can fend off a Ghoul, hearing the sound of Ghouls approaching from afar, and even being rejected by the Urban Wishing Tree shows that he's not just a human.
It was getting clearer what he was going to transform into, but Mathias was in denial.
'No, no, no! Please, no!!', Mathias screamed inside his mind but it was already too late, his mind is already started to be engulfed by bloodthirst. Everything his eyes can see now is shaded by the color red, but then something weird appeared in his vision.

Mathias blinked his eyes a couple of times, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.
But focusing is something that he can't afford right now as the excruciating pain is attacking every inch of his body, it's definitely the most painful thing he has ever experienced in his previous life and this one.
Even if an explosion happens beside him, he'll probably wouldn't realize it until he gets hit.

Pain has been the only thing occupying his mind at this current moment, he keeps screaming and shouting as the bones inside his body started to move. At this point, he doesn't even know what his body looks like as his mind can't think in this state.

With eyes consumed with the beast that is living inside of him, Mathias clawed the ground before he slowly stood up. Now nobody would recognize him anymore, even his sister if she was still alive wouldn't recognize him in this state.
Covered in black furs completely with bulging muscles underneath, he has become a monster.
Mathias can feel the moonlight massaging his entire body and giving him strength, it rejuvenates him and instills his mind with more anger and bloodthirst than it already has. Feeling the sudden urge climbing on his throat, he spreads his arms while contracting his claws strongly while facing the full moon.
Aooouuu!!
A powerful and deafening howl escape his mouth, echoing into the entire forest.
On the other side of the forest, the Ghouls that are still eating the Ardent Black Mages' corpses stopped eating for a second and lifted their heads up. Each of them heard the overbearing howl reverberating into their ears.
Upon hearing this howl, the Ghouls started running in the other direction out of fear.
Even though their current state doesn't allow them to have high intelligence, their survival instinct forces them to run away as far as possible from this place. Inside their unconscious mind, they knew that there was an evil creature being born.
Similar to the group of Ghouls, Luke was running back to the town with a pale expression.
Luke's entire body shivers and his heart started to thump violently when the howl reaches his ears, he didn't even look back knowing that it comes from where he met with Mathias and Faran earlier.
"He's a Supernatural, he's a Supernatural, he's a Supernatural!"
Feeling the impending fear that is more than he can take from seeing how both of his friends got killed rather easily by Mathias that turned into an unknown Supernatural, Luke tries to pick up his pace not wanting to be in the darkness of the forest any longer.
Just then he suddenly stopped on his track as his body froze completely.
A pair of yellow eyes suddenly appears from the darkness in front of him which dropped his heart to his stomach instantly, his face is now pale as a blank sheet as he slowly backs away, "H-Hey, M-Mathias... I-I'm s-sorry. If y-you let me g-go, then I-I'll never s-show my f-face in front of you ever again"
Stuttering immensely, Luke is already regretting trying to attack Mathias and Faran.
Without a doubt, he's no match against Mathias right now as he's able to reach him very quickly. But all he received back from saying that was nothing but a low animalistic growl that terrifies his entire soul.
Overwhelmed by fear, Luke ditched every sense he has and started running in another direction.
Luke was running with all his might but he saw the thick shadow following him, it move from right to left at a blazing fast speed which he can't possibly match. Facing forward with fearful eyes, he knows that his chance of surviving is slim.
"I-I don't want to die..."
