Chapter 3: Kimi no Na wa

Natsuo and Ena went towards the old lady selling tofu pudding. Ena seems to be familiar with the old lady as she was smiling happily as she heads ahead and greeted the old lady.
"Good morning, granny Chiyo."
"Oh? Ena-chan, good morning to you too."
The old lady, with squinted eyes, also greeted Ena. She was smiling gently at her, she then took a look at behind Ena and saw Natsuo also approaching them.
"Tell me, Ena-chan. Is the young man heading her your boyfriend?"
Ena was nodding at first but she suddenly blushed upon hearing granny Chiyo's last question. Her face turned red because she also thought about what it would be like to be Natsuo's girlfriend. She did not even have any idea why she was thinking of this considering that they had just met each other today.
"G-Granny Chiyo, what are you talking about. We just meet earlier, I don't even know what school he goes to."
"Akimori High School."
A voice was suddenly heard behind her, surprised, Ena hurriedly turned around and saw Natsuo smiling at her.
"W-What?"
"I said, I also study at Akimori High School."
"How did you know that I also go there?"
Ena was confused. If she remembers correctly, she had not told him the school she studies at. The only thing she told him is that she's entering a competition.
'Don't tell me.'
"Yes. When you said that you'll be entering a photography competition. I just took a hunch that maybe, you're also from Akimori High School."
'Did he just read what I was thinking?'
"Nope. It is just written all over your face."
Natsuo said with a smirk, he then towards the old lady and also greeted her.
"Good morning granny. Could you please serve two bowls of tofu pudding?"
"You are quite a cheeky young man. Teasing Ena-chan like that."
Natsuo just scratched his nose awkwardly. He just couldn't help it, Ena was just too cute earlier. Natsuo knows what this kind of feeling is and it had been a long time since he felt this feeling.
"I like it. Wait for 5 minutes."
Granny Chiyo grinned at Natsuo before making their order. Natsuo then turned towards Ena who was unusually quiet. From what he had seen so far from her personality, she doesn't seem to be the type to be quiet for a long time.
"What's wrong?" Natsuo asked.
"Uh? No. Nothing!" Ena answered a little bit stuttering.
Natsuo eyed her suspiciously but did not pry too much. He then asks the question that was bugging him since earlier.
"By the way, how come I've not seen you before in school?"
"That? I just transferred this year so, it is understandable that you haven't seen me before."
"So that's why."
"That's why what?" Ena asked curiously.
"I haven't seen a cute girl like you."
'C-Cute?! Me?' Ena thought as her face turned red, fortunately for her, Natsuo had not seen it as he was receiving the bowls tofu puddings from granny Chiyo, unfortunately for her, Granny Chiyo saw her expression as she was grinning at her.
"Here." Natsuo passes a bowl of tofu pudding to Ena.
Ena received the bowl of tofu pudding, her eyes were shining and there was a little bit of drool leaking from her mouth. After staring at the bowl for a while, she wiped her drool and came into her senses.
"Ah! Granny, here's the payment."
Granny did not accept it and smiled.
"You don't have to. He had already paid." Pointing at Natsuo who was already heading towards the bench.
'He already did? I thought I was supposed to be the one paying?' Ena thanked granny Chiyo before running after Natsuo. Of course, she was careful enough not to spill the tofu pudding.
"Hey!"
Natsuo turned around to look at Ena and asked, "What?"
"Why did you pay, I thought I was the one treating you."
"Well, you thought incorrectly then." He smirked at her as he sat down.
"Hey, not fair!"
"What do you mean not fair? Is life even fair?" Natsuo asked.
Ena sat down next to Natsuo, "That's different!"
"Yeah, yeah." Natsuo waved his hand carelessly at her. Ena pouted and puffed her cheeks seeing this. She watched as Natsuo scoop down and the tofu pudding with his spoon and brought it into his mouth.
"Wow! This really tastes good." He turned towards granny Chiyo and gave her a thumbs up. Granny Chiyo just smiled at him and continued serving to the customer in front of her.
"Ha! That is to be expected, granny makes the best tofu pudding." Ena smiled proudly. She also ate her tofu pudding and smiled blissfully.
Natsuo seeing this felt that his world suddenly move slowly, everything else except for Ena disappeared. The only one left in his vision is her and only her. He had no idea why he keeps on having this vision, it is like there is some sort of cosmic being forcing him to fall in love with this lovely girl in front of him.

Natsuo and Ena talked with each other. Natsuo was interested in knowing more about Ena and the same can also be said with Ena. Both of them had even forgotten about the time.

Natsuo stared at Ena's back as it slowly disappears in the distance. Good times do not last long and they sadly had to part with each other. They had exchanged contacts with each other so they can still talk and even meet up when they had time.
He had told Ena that he wants to be a novelist, although it would make more sense if he had decided to be a businessman since it is the field he is the most familiar with. But as Natsuo wants to have challenges in his life, he decided to try being a novelist. His final goal is to be able to create an original story and not something he had copied from his previous life.
Natsuo went back home after not seeing Ena's back anymore. It was already a few minutes before 8 AM. His father should be already awake by now, and just what he had guessed. His father was already in the kitchen, staring at the banana in front of him.
From the looks of his father, he looks like he is about to face his greatest enemy. He did not even notice Natsuo entering and did not respond to him when he said 'I'm Home'.
He went to his father and put the tofu pudding he had bought in front of his father. This had pulled his father out of his trance as he finally noticed Natsuo.
"Ah! Natsuo, where were you?"
"I went out to jog," Natsuo answered.
"You went jogging?" Akihito asked, seemingly in disbelief. Well, it is to be expected, Natsuo's predecessor was not the type to wake up early in the morning much more exercise.
"Yes. What's so surprising about that, I want to gain some muscles." Natsuo said. He then also told his father about Ena, "I also got to meet a cute girl."
"Ha... good for you." Akihito helplessly shook his head. "Thanks for the tofu pudding by the way."
"No probs dad. I'll go to my room now. I suddenly thought of an idea and I want to write something." Natsuo said as he headed towards his room. Suddenly, he stopped and return back to the kitchen and looked at his father.
"What?" Akihito asked, feeling uncomfortable with the looks he was receiving from his son.
"I just thought that maybe you should also start jogging in the morning. Who knows, maybe you would also meet a woman who will become my new mom." With that said, Natsuo went to his room. Leaving his father in the dining room, smiling awkwardly as he already found a woman who will become his new mother, he had not just told him.

In his room, Natsuo was searching for a publishing company where he would try to enter a competition to gain more attention. His plan is to first gain attention before publishing his book, so in that case, it would not take long before it started selling.
After finding the company he was looking for, Natsuo started writing the novel.
Note: You don't have to really read the following as it is just a copy-pasted short summary of the whole plot of 'Your Name'. The reason I put it in here is so that those who do not know what it is, will understand.
[Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school girl living in the town of Itomori near the Hida region. She is bored with small-town life and wishes to be a handsome Tokyo boy in her next life. She begins to switch bodies intermittently with Taki Tachibana, a high school boy in Tokyo when they wake up. They communicate by writing messages on paper, phones, and sometimes on each other's skin. Mitsuha causes Taki to develop a relationship with his coworker Miki, while Taki causes Mitsuha to become popular in school.
One day, Taki, as Mitsuha, accompanies her grandmother and sister to leave the ritual alcohol kuchikamizake, made by Mitsuha, as an offering at the family shrine on a mountaintop outside the town. The shrine is believed to represent the body of the village guardian god ruling human experiences and connections. Mitsuha's latest note tells Taki about the comet Tiamat expected to pass Earth on the day of her town festival.
The next day, Taki wakes up in his body. After an unsuccessful date with Miki, he tries to call Mitsuha, but cannot reach her and the body-switching ends. He decides to meet her directly, but not knowing the town's name he has to rely on his memories of the scenery. A restaurant owner in Hida recognizes Itomori from Taki's sketch and tells him when the comet unexpectedly split into two; the larger piece kept moving, but the smaller one crashed onto Earth and destroyed the town. Looking at the site of the crater and while in disbelief that Mitsuha died this whole time, her messages on his phone disappear and his memories start fading away. Taki finds Mitsuha's name in the records of fatalities and discovers from the date of the disaster that their timelines were separated by three years.
Taki goes to the shrine to drink Mitsuha's sake from the bottle, hoping to reconnect with her body and warn her about the comet strike. Through a vision, Taki discovers that a girl he met on the train was Mitsuha, not knowing they were separated for three years. She had instead met his past self while trying to meet with him personally. He wakes up in her body on the morning of the town festival. Mitsuha's grandmother deduces what happened, and tells him the body-switching is part of the family history and caretakers for the shrine. Taki convinces Teshi and Sayaka, two of Mitsuha's friends, to help everyone evacuate the town, by disabling the electrical substation and broadcasting a false emergency alert, while Taki assumes Mitsuha's role as the mayor's daughter to try and persuade him to evacuate the town. Realizing that Mitsuha is in his body at the shrine, Taki goes back to find her.
Mitsuha wakes up in Taki's body at the shrine. When Taki reaches there as the sun is setting, the two sense each other's presence, but are separated by three years, but when twilight falls (referred to in the film as "magic hour" or "kataware-Doki"), they return to their own bodies and meet. They attempt to write their names on each hand so they will remember each other, but twilight passes, and Mitsuha disappears before she can write hers. The evacuation plan fails, and Mitsuha is determined to convince her father to evacuate the town. Going to do so, Mitsuha notices her memories for Taki starting to fade and discovers he wrote "I love you" on her hand instead of his name. Despite the evacuation, the comet piece crashes to Earth and destroys the town. Taki wakes up in his own time, only to remember nothing.
Five years after his visit to Itomori, Taki has graduated from university and searches for a job. He senses he lost something important, but feels drawn to the disaster, learning that the inhabitants of the town survived by following the mayor's order. One day, Taki and Mitsuha see each other when their trains draw parallel and are compelled to disembark and search for one another, finally meeting on the stairs of Suga Shrine. They initially walk past each other as they are both shocked, but Taki turns around and inquires if they had known each other before. Mitsuha replies that she had the same feeling, and with their connection re-established, they shed tears of happiness and simultaneously ask for their names.]

As Natsuo was immersed in writing, his phone suddenly started ringing. Even though he was reluctant to answer it, seeing that it was his childhood friend, he answered it.
{Natsuo! Help Me!}
Answering the call, he heard Fumiya's voice.
{Fumiya what's wrong? Where are you?}
{Come here at L'amant Restaurant}
{Okay. I'm on my way.}
Natsuo immediately ended the call, he organized his papers slightly before heading out to the restaurant. From Fumiya's voice, Natsuo can hear his urgency and it seems like something happened.
He just hoped that it is nothing too serious.

LazyKhris Aight! I got lazy and I think there will be no chapter tomorrow. My original plan was to actually stockpile first before I started uploading chapters. But I forgot that I'm not the type of person who follows the plan.
Anyways, what do you guys think? I had just edited the first chapter and I have already wrote 3 chapters. If this what happens to also the other chapters, then I guess I'll reach 240 chapters, not to mention the additional things I will be adding later on. Just wish me luck that I won't lose my motivation.
