Chapter 6: 6) Conspiracy?

The next morning, as soon as he woke up, a maid was already waiting for him at his doorstep.

"Is something the matter? "

Aryan asked curiously.

"Yes Prince Mahendra, Maharaj Chitrangad has requested your presence in the court today. And I have been sent here to inform you and guide you. "

The maid answers humbly.

"Alright I understand. Just give me half an hour and I will be out. "

Subsequently Aryan got fresh, took a bath and finally followed the maid to the court.

And just before he reached the court, Aryan happened to meet Shubh who was currently being escorted to the Punishment Hall for interrogation as a prisoner coming from the opposite corridor.

And the moment Shubh saw Aryan, his anger immediately flared up and he looked at Aryan as if he wanted nothing more than to pounce on him and tear him to pieces.

"Well, well, if it isn't the great warrior Prince Shubh Udrabhan ? How come you are are wearing these handcuffs? Is this a new fashion in Udra kingdom?"

Out of bad taste, Aryan decided to take a jab at him and commented sarcastically.

"Pttt! Just you wait bastard. When my father receives the news, I will ask him to specifically demand King Chitrangad for your head. "

Shubh roared in a hoarse voice.

"Hahaha, and why exactly do you think King Chitrangad would compromise with your Udra kingdom and harm me, their benefactor? "

Aryan asked with a raised eyebrow, keenly smelling something fishy.

"Hahaha, looks like princess Bhanumati didn't tell you, did she?"

Shubh laughed excitedly as he finally found a place to embarass Aryan.

"What didn't she tell me? "

Aryan asked solemnly.

"The reason why she was ambushed in the first place. Because if she had told you, you wouldn't be asking me the question about why would King Chitrangad compromise. "

After saying this, Shubh walked away with the guards, leaving Aryan standing in the middle of the corridor, thinking about his words.

"Don't tell me that I have unintentionally fallen victim to the schemes of these Royal families? Aargh, just fuck it. Let's wait and see what the hell is going on here. "

Aryan sighed helplessly and headed to the court.

....

In the court, King Chitrangad was sitting on his throne on the podium while the ministers were seated on cushioned chairs, and the court was bustling with discussions. As Aryan entered, all eyes turned towards him, recognizing the prince who had saved princess Bhanumati from Shubh Paundrya's treachery.

King Chitrangad acknowledged Aryan with a nod and said, "Welcome, Prince Mahendra. Your presence is much anticipated today."

Aryan nodded respectfully and took his place among the attendees. The court proceedings continued, discussing various matters of the kingdom, but Aryan's thoughts were still consumed by his encounter with Shubh.

Finally, as the court session approached its conclusion, King Chitrangad addressed Aryan directly. "Prince Mahendra, there is one more matter that needs your attention. It concerns the recent events and our kingdom's security."

Aryan listened attentively, realizing that something significant was about to be revealed.

King Chitrangad continued, "We have received word from spies that Shubh Udrabhan's actions were not solely his own doing. There is evidence to suggest that someone within our own court might have been involved in aiding him."

A hushed murmur swept through the court and Aryan noticed all this thoughtfully.

"Investigations are underway," the king continued, "and we are determined to find the truth. But we need your cooperation, Prince Mahendra. We believe your unique perspective and skills can help uncover the traitor. After all, sometimes we as insiders miss some small things but as an outsider, these mistakes are very easy to spot. "

Aryan nodded solemnly, fully aware of the gravity of the situation. "I will do everything in my power to assist in this matter, Your Majesty."

With that commitment, the court session concluded, and Aryan found himself at the center of a new and complex web of intrigue within the kingdom of Kalinga. As he left the court, he couldn't help but wonder about the true depths of the political machinations at play.

After having lunch, Aryan walked aimlessly in the palace. After all, his main goal behind coming to this place was to rob the Kingdom's treasury so that he can hopefully meet the conditions for activating the fox's sin of greed and get another ability.

Thus today Aryan's main goal was to find the exact location of the treasury. However what happened in the court and the conversation with Shubh previously were a surprise.

But anyway, under the guise of looking for the traitor, he can do things a lot more freely.

After passing a corner, Aryan suddenly heard the sound of running water coming from the end of the corridor.

Curious, he followed the sound and walked straight into a beautiful, secluded courtyard within the palace. A tranquil garden with a sparkling fountain at its center greeted him, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. The soothing sound of the flowing water filled the air.

As Aryan explored the courtyard, he couldn't help but appreciate the serene beauty of the place. And when he was engrossed in this heartwarming feeling, someone silently approached him from behind with hushed steps.

Aryan was completely unaware of the newcomer. He slightly bent down in front of the fountain to scoop some water, but coincidentally happened to see the image of someone standing behind him.

Surprised, he instinctively turned around. But also at this time, the person standing behind him pounced on him.

* splash *

As a result, they both ended up falling into the fountain.

* budak * * budak *

After catching his breath, Aryan finally clearly saw the face of the other person.

"Princess Bhanumati? "
