Chapter 9: Journey Begins and Meeting Nami
"Pirate hunter Kuina, Like the one they have been talking about in the newspapers. Also said to be a demon to all pirates." Ann asked looking a bit interested
"Yeah that one, I want to know what the people of East blue consider a demon." Luffy said with interest clear in his voice.
Then he looked back at the girls and said, "Well it's time to set sail."
He looked at the girls' attires, Ann was wearing an orange bikini top with black shorts. She also had a blacked cropped jacket on her. On her head there was an orange color hat and red bead necklace. She also had a sword on her hip.
Makino was wearing black and orange shirt and white pants. With a staff sticking on her back.
And He was wearing a simple black shirt with white pants. He also had a sword on his hips. He was also wearing the straw hat. It didn't have much of an emotional value to him. He just kept it for symbolic value.
Also unlike anime characters they also had more clothes on their boat. Luffy even had Captain's coats in different colors like black, white red, Blue, Which he was not sure if he would ever use.
Also he was not some short lanky dude like Luffy from the start of the anime. He has filled out very much and looked even more filled out than original Luffy Looked after the time-skip.
Their boat was medium size. It had three small back to back cabins on it.
They had already prepared all the necessary things on the boat and also stocked it with a month worth food supply. They also had ten million Beli on the ship, some from gathering treasure from a small age and some from Makino's savings. It was mostly in big bills and some was in the form of gold.
Then all three boarded the boat.
The whole village was standing on the coast of the village cheering for them and wishing them good luck.
"Well mayor, we will be going now." Makino said, waving her hands.
"Hump." Mayor Woopslap grunted, "Off to bring shame to our village."
"Alright everyone We are off," Luffy said with a smile while Ann was just standing on the side arms folded with a small smile on her face. And they started sailing off as They had already said goodbyes to Dadan Family in the mountains.
There was no lord of the coast as they had already killed and eaten it's meat.
After some time of sailing they saw a small whirlpool forming at a distance. They easily steered clear of it. Then some time later Ann looked up and told them about a ship in the distance. She sensed it first as she is best at sensing things with great distance. And another ship which was coming towards it.
"Alright you guys bring the boat, I will go ahead and check." With that said he used both Geppo and Soru and went in the ship's direction. After just a few seconds he was also able to sense the ships. He went to the commercial ship. By his estimate it would take ten more minutes for the other ship to reach it.
He was easily able to sneak inside without anyone noticing with the help of Observation Haki.
He went inside what looked like a ballroom. He looked and spotted a lot of people in fancy suits and cocktail dresses. Then he saw an Orange hair girl gazing out of the window. He looked at her, She had short height, slender figure and short shoulder length hair and was wearing an off white dress with frills on it. It could be just one person, Cat burglar Nami.
He went beside her and looked at the ocean. "Beautiful"
Nami Looked to the side and saw Luffy staring into the ocean.
"The ocean I mean, isn't it beautiful?" He turned towards her and asked.
She just smiled at him 'Probably just acting' he thought to himself.
Then she said "Yes it's really beautiful."
He then took her Hand and kissed it.
"Monkey D. Luffy" he introduced herself.
"Nami" to which she replied. After that he let her hand go.
"May I have the honor of this dance?" he asked with a slight bow.
She just smiled and nodded.
They danced together for about five minutes. He asked her some questions like what was she doing on this ship or such.
All of which she lied about with a smile.
Then she asked "So why are you on this ship."
"Oh I am not really from this ship. I was just travelling on a boat and saw this ship so I came aboard to take a look. I didn't know that I would get to meet such a beautiful girl." He replied to her with a smile.
She just smiled awkwardly not knowing whether he was telling the truth or not.
He sensed that the pirate ship had come close to the ship.
He went close to her and brought his face close to her ear and said, "You know when you are wearing your work clothes and hiding a weapon under your dress, you should not let anyone get this close to you."
After hearing that she began to panic "Don't worry I won't tell anyone. You can do whatever you want without worry." He told her.
There was panic above the Deck and soon the sound of cannon firing came and the ship started swaying wildly. Nami leaned on him for support and He hugged her tightly taking advantage of the situation. Her face was red from embarrassment, this guy was totally taking advantage of her. After some time when the ship stabilized a bit he let her go from his arms then he kissed her on cheeks when ending the hug.
"We will meet again in future, Nami." And then he went off.
Nami was standing shell-shocked with a red face not knowing what to think about what just happened.
After some time she just sighed thinking that she probably will not even see him again and went to her work.
Luffy looked at the pirates that had boarded the ship and were going to the public areas like that ballroom of the ship. They were all weaklings. He could just knock out with a low burst of Haki but he really wanted to punch something really bad.
Then he punched all the pirates left and right and shortly after they all were lying unconscious on the floor. By that time Nami had already boarded the pirate ship and started collecting all of their treasure.
Luffy quickly went to the pirate ship and punctured a small hole in all the lifeboats on the ship. Then he went back to the commercial ship.
There he saw a woman bigger than Dadan he had grown up with. Man she was really big. He was captain of the pirate ship 'Iron Mace' Alvida.
She was standing on the bow of the ship with some pirate standing behind her. He even saw Coby in the corner who was shaking and trembling in fear.
"You, are you the one who defeated all my men." She asked him.
"Oh those weaklings yeah I was the one." Luffy told her without a care.
"Who are you, Brat ? Are you a bounty hunter? I haven't heard of you before." She asked him
"I am Monkey D. Luffy. I am a pirate." Luffy replied casually.
"Then we are enemies. You probably don't know who I am. Coby, Who is the most beautiful woman in this ocean?" She asked as looked towards Coby.
"Who are you, fat lady?" Luffy simply asked her. He didn't really want to insult any woman but this one was just asking to be brought down a peg.
After hearing that all of their jaws dropped to the floor. Coby's shaking increased even further. While Alvida was shaking in rage.
Luffy sensed a marine lookout ship coming towards them.
Well it's time to end this farce. He then dashed towards Alvida and then sent a punch to the gut. And she went flying like in the show.
He thought about flirting with her but then got rid of the idea as soon as it came because it was not because flirting that she came after Luffy, It was because After him punching her she found the island on which the fruit Sube Sube no mi was. Which gave her beautiful and flawless skin. So If she finds the fruit she will just come after him and she does not then it's better this way so that she does not chase after him.
After that he knocked out other pirates. They will all be caught by The marines. In the meantime Nami had stolen all the treasure from the pirate ship and lowered a lifeboat from it.
He then went to his Boat just a small distance from the ship and the girls were waiting for him.
"Found something interesting" the girls asked him.
"Probably, follow that lifeboat." He told them.
"Who is on that boat." Ann asked a bit intrigued.
"Someone interesting." As they followed the boat he told everything that happened.
Nami was really frustrated she didn't know what to do as there was a hole in the boat which was slowly filling it up and sinking the boat. And even if she did not die somehow the treasure will still be lost.
Then she saw a big boat coming to her side and heard "Need any help?"
Then she looked at the speaker of the voice and it was the same man she met on the ship, who she thought she might never meet again.
