Chapter 13: Orange town
"Alright take us little to the side to dock." Luffy said.
"Wait why go to the other side?" Nami asked, a bit confused as they could just go straight.
'Because that mad clown have a very powerful cannon which was able to destroy like quarter of the town when they first showed it firing, And even though it's power was dropped to not being able to even destroy a single building in just single episode, He still wasn't going to take his boat in it's radius and He knew that it was almost impossible for them to getting past him and his crew but he wasn't going to risk it as all their money and other important things were on the boat.' He thought.
"Don't worry about it. Just take it to the side a bit." he told her.
"Alright we will go to the side." She said she was still confused but she believed he must have a reason. Kuina had also woken up by then. She came out with a smile on her face " Good morning captain, Everyone." She greeted them. They also greeted her.
After some time they docked the boat. And then started walking to where Buggy and his crew were. After walking some distance they came across an old man in makeshift armor. He came towards them with a bit of hostility and cautiousness.
"Kids who are you, are you guys with that Buggy pirate?" The old man asked with a serious expression.
"No, We are not with them. We just came to the Island a few minutes ago." Luffy told the old man.
After seeing there were just kids and women he believed them, "Then you have come at a very bad time. You should leave this town as soon as you can.
"What happened here, old man." Ann asked the old man about all the destroyed or burned down buildings.
"That pirate captain Buggy came here a few days ago. He fired some kind of cannon, many houses were destroyed and many families were burned alive. Because of that all of the remaining people were forced from our home and live in jungles. Now these pirates are living in the town having parties all day."
All the girls had a disgusted face after hearing that.
"You should also leave from here because it is not safe for you." The old man warned them.
"Don't worry old man we are adventurers and we are stronger than we look. We actually came here looking for Buggy as He has a map to somewhere we want to go." Luffy told him.
"What!? you don't know he has eaten the fruit of the devil. He is a demon." The old man still warned them.
"Well so am I so don't worry about it." Luffy said and stretched his arm to show him.
"Wha..What are you?" The old man asked.
"I ate gomu gomu no mi, I am a Rubber man." Luffy just simply told the old man
"Old man we will take care of the Buggy pirates for you. You don't have to worry about it."Ann said to him.
Then they went towards the town square where Buggy was, leaving the old man alone.
"Ah young people are always so hasty." The old man said watching the backs of the group.
As they walked through the town they saw all the destruction pirates had done to the town.
"This is terrible." Makino said at the terrible condition of the buildings wondering how many people were burned alive in those buildings.
"Don't worry we will get rid of that Buggy and his crew soon." Luffy said to her as he put his hand above her shoulder.
"Wait, Get..get rid of, you mean kill them, we can't do that." Nami said, looking a little horrified at the idea.
"Okay, so what do you think we should do with them, Nami?" Luffy asked her
"Mmm we should beat them and knock them out then we will take the map and treasure." Nami told them what she thought they should do with the pirates.
"And then?" Luffy continued
"Then what, we will take the map and go." Nami said, a little confused.
Everyone just looked at her like she had grown a second head.
"Nami, let me explain to you what will happen after that, when they wake up they will be enraged that all their treasure and map to the Grand line was stolen and then they will kill every single person in this village. So you just want to make them angry and then send these angry people to all the people of the town."
Nami looked horrified after hearing that. Did she really never think things can happen like that, of course she didn't. She is part of the original straw-hat pirate. They think that people don't seek revenge when you trample their years of hard work. That after getting a punch they just become good people who will do no kind of harm to another person.
Like that Captain Kuro guy who after his defeat is still free and always watching news about Luffy. Is that the only mission remaining in his life to stare at news, Is that the only thing he would do in his life after his defeat by Luffy. Wouldn't he go back to syrup village and kill that Kaya girl and take her money now that no one is there to stop him? Or is it some kind of rule that he will only attack when Luffy and his crew are there and not when they are far away.
"But still we can't just kill them." Nami still insisted.
"Alright Nami let me tell you this way. Let's assume that a pirate comes to your village and kills your loved ones. And if you know that someone could have killed him before he came to your village, wouldn't you want him to kill that pirate. There are many kids thinking like that because of these pirates and many more will if all we do is just punch them two times." He knew he was hitting a nerve there but if it makes her understand then he is OK with it.
Nami was silent and looking down. She was thinking, thinking about her childhood when she lived happily with Bellemere and Nojiko and how Arlong had taken everything From them. How she had lived her life With stealing and running for life and making maps for those fishmen. Didn't she want to kill him, of course she wanted to kill him. If she had power she would have killed him with her own hands. Then weren't these pirates the same haven't they taken so many lives they could even be worse than Arlong as he has been one place ruling over them taking ridiculous taxes. But how many villages and towns these pirates have destroyed.
She looked up with a determined expression and said, "You are right, the only way they won't do anything like that again is them not being alive."
Luffy was happy that he was able to get his point across to her.
"Alright Nami and Makino you go to their ship for treasure and me, Kuina and Ann will take care of these guys."
Yeah he is not going to leave Nami's safety on some plot Armor where she will only come across some dumb pirates who she could easily fool.
Luffy along with Ann and Kuina went to town square. He then looked towards a restaurant where there was a group of people.
"Oi, Big Fat Red Nose clown! Get out here." Luffy yelled
"Who was that? I will kill you fleshy bastard." Came a voice from the building. And then a man walked out of it.
The man was wearing a short sleeve shirt with red and white horizontal stripes and had light green pants with a green sash around his waist he had a red scarf around his neck, captain hat and coat with curly toe shoes. He also had make up on his face and a big red nose. Giving him the complete look of clown.
"You are really the ugliest thing I have ever seen." Exclaimed Ann.
"Who are you calling ugly, you asshole. Man prepare the buggy ball." Buggy shouted at his man with bloodshot eyes.
They started loading the buggy cannon and they had to rotate the cannon to their side. Luffy and others had to wait quite a bit before the cannon was ready to fire but when it was about to fire Luffy just sped to it and then rotated the cannon on their side. "Why don't I let you guys taste your own medicine." He said to them.
'Bang'
After when the dust cleared they saw most of the buggy's crew was dead with their own buggy ball. He sensed the life signs but there weren't any of these guys.
Only three guys were remaining standing. A big green lion and very weird rider who was wearing blue pants, white fur pants and had white hair with two protrusions like things made with his hair, truthfully he was more of an animal than a human , A weird flamboyant man on a unicycle. He is quite tall with long green hair which was covering half of his face, blue and white checkered scarf, white pants and a very long overcoat without anything underneath it And Buggy himself.
"I can't suppress my anger any longer." Said buggy with a shadowed face.
"Captain, allow me to kill these worms." Said the weird man on the unicycle.
"Let me join too." Said the weird one on the Lion.
"Very well Cabaji, Mohji bring me there head." Buggy ordered his remaining two men.
"Kuina you take on the weird guy on the unicycle and Ann can just play for a bit with the weird guy on that lion. I will have some talk with this clown here for a bit." Luffy said to the girls.
After that they went to their fighting partners.
"Pirate hunter Kuina, It is a pleasure To meet you, I always wanted to match my blades with you." Said the man on the unicycle. With a sword in his mouth.
She just took her stance and said "I don't have time to chit chat just start the fight."
"Very well." He said before Launching his attack. Which has so many unnecessary things in it. He started doing all sorts of acrobatics on his unicycle.
Kuina easily blocked his attacks.
On the other side Ann was just playing with that guy and beating the shit out of him.
After that he appeared in front of Buggy in just a flesh. And punched him. He added a bit of Haki in it. Buggy went flying through many buildings behind him. "You know I would have loved to keep this farce of a fight going but really wanted to test a power of mine so stay still ok."
After that devastating punch Buggy could barely move. He then put his hand above Buggy's heart. "Haki.. how do you know to use it in this sea." Asked Buggy with a painful expression on his face.
"Ho I didn't think you would know about it. And even when you know about it you are still this week. I don't know what that Roger guy was thinking when he added you to his crew." Buggy's eyes widened after hearing how this guy knew about that, he thought.
Now to see if it works or not here it goes. " Extract."
Soon a violet colored fruit with swirls materialized in his hand. It Was Bara Bara no mi. Looks like it works. He didn't know it would work or not so he hasn't told anyone about this power yet.
"My fruit how..how did you do it?"
"You don't need to know that." Luffy said before Killing him. He then hid the fruit.
Until then both Ann and Kuina had already won their fights. And their Opponents lay dead there.
It was a really underwhelming fight. Buggy pirates were really weak. In the next fight he will probably just let the new girls fight.
Then they all met up with Makino and Nami who had gathered about 100 million beli treasure and the Map from Buggy'
Makino was looking a bit glum. He knew the reason why because it was also their first killing and while Luffy and Ann had no reaction to it, Makino was not like them.
He just went to her and squeezed her hand hard. She looked at him and gave him a small smile then kissed him. She will probably be okay tomorrow. And he will make sure to comfort her very much tonight.
After they returned from where they came from. They met the old man. When they told him about the buggy he didn't believe them at first but after his denial passed he went on his knees and thanked them.
After that Luffy left half the treasure with the old man to rebuild the town. Surprisingly when he told Nami to give half the treasure she didn't make any fuss about it. Looks like she has changed quite a lot.
After returning he also reported to Garp about the whole thing. Who just told him good job.
Luffy and all the girls were standing in a circle around the map.
"Alright Nami where to Next." Luffy asked Excitedly
"Well the next Island is 'Gekko Island." She replied with equal enthusiasm as she showed the Island on the map.
