Chapter 4: Mother

"Anita, lead me to where my mother is" Rose ordered and Anita bowed her head and started to lead the way. unknown to rose, Anita was already thinking of how her master became very serious and stern and authoritative at the same time. like she has changed from timid into a mature person when she woke up. but she is her sworn master. no matter what changes may happen
she will follow her master until the end.
Anita led rose to the person she wanted to see. rose going on the familiar way already knew where her most beloved mother is. thinking where her mother is right now if not mistaken makes her blood boil. how could those people dare!
Anita stopped at the brown wooden door and it made a creaked sound as she slowly opened it. she stood on the side and rose entered the room. the whole room is dim lighted and as soon as rose entered, she felt her heart broken, the room was originally a storage room and is very dirty and dusty that every corner of the room was filled has spider webs.
there are different things stock on the side but on the very center of the room. there lies a coffin. it was wooden and poorly made. rose slowly made her way and then stopped in front of it. rose slowly looked down on the coffin and there she saw a woman's face with her eyes close. she is without any makeup and dressed in white like hers. her face is very beautiful but pale at the same time.
In her past life. when she woke up, she never saw this woman again in her entire life, but now, she may have seen her mother but there is still no difference, she is already dead!
Rose just stood there, not moving nor talking
she is just there, memorizing every part of her face
silently staring at her mother.
this is her way of mourning. she already had shed enough tears in her past life but not anymore on this one. she was there for hours and hours. looking after her mother, staying by her side. Anita tried to talk to her but she didn't reply and Anita helplessly stood on the side and watch her, guarding her.
their silence was disturbed when a maid came rushing, going inside the room. she then came near rose, ignoring Anita and told her
"Young lady, we've been looking for you everywhere! the general is asking for your presence" she directly said but there was a hint of annoyance on her tone. minutes passed but there was no response seen on Rose. she just stood there without looking at the maid which made the maid more upset.
"Young lady, have you had your ears checked? I said the general is asking for you." the maid said bitterly that made Anita angry. she was about to say something when she heard the icy voice of her master.
"What is your name?" Rose seriously asked and then it was the only time rose looked at the maid. when the maid saw Rose's eyes. she suddenly, unknowingly felt very scared, her serious expression made her feel like she is in danger. what the heck! she is only like 7 years old! how can she make her feel like this? the maid is very prideful. setting her feelings aside, she answered
"E- - ericka, why?" the maid said, did she just stutter? She asks herself. Rose then ignores her again and looks back at her mother and lean her small body near her.
she smiled at her and whispered
"Mother, I will have to say goodbye now. I'm really sorry. it was all my fault, but rest assured Mother. I will make those people suffer tenfolds, then I will also live my life to the fullest like you have always wanted me to and then after, I will see you again and we will be together once more, then, I will make it all up to you" Rose kissed her on the forehead, glance at her for the last time and then slowly walks away, Anita followed her behind while the maid stood dumbfounded.
