Clara turned her disapproving gaze to her mother, expecting the latter to say something like.
"Sorry Chelsea, we can't go with you. We haven't had our bath or breakfast yet. Moreover, Clara has afternoon classes and I need to visit the Roadside Cafe to look for a job to support myself."
Sadly Rosemary was in an appreciative mood and her sense of reason seemed to have evaporated into thin air.
Instead of speaking out Clara's mind, which was in fact the true reality of things, Rosemary simply said.
"Okay, sweetie, anything for the mother of my unborn grandchild. Just give me a few seconds to wear something presentable." Rosemary said softly, worried that the wrong tempo of her voice could cause Chelsea to have a change of heart.
"Good. I'll be waiting inside my car."
Chelsea was about to leave when Clara's squeaky voice said some displeasing to her ear.
