Chapter 2: 2

"Derenle is way hotter! I don't know why people even manage to ogle him." I rolled my eyes for added effect.

"I know right?" My roommate Bims agreed with me and I stopped and turned to her, putting my phone down.

Bims always thought that Nathan was hotter and never failed to argue with me when I brought it up and now she was agreeing with me? I glared at her and she rolled her eyes. Wondering why I was glaring at her when she obviously agreed with me?

Well, Bimbola was convinced that Nate was the hottest guy in school and would never change her conviction for anything in the world. Not even if it was my dying wish. She only agreed with me to get me to shut up. When Bims was tired at your rants, her way out was agreeing with what you said to make you shut up already.

"You're hurting me, you know that." I went for a sad look when my glare didn't seem to work on her. And nothing could be executed better without a dramatic effect so I feigned hurt by placing my hands on my heart.

"So you talked to him?" She asked for the nth time since I told her about my encounter with Nathan Ayobami. She was more interested in the fact that I talked to the world's crush than what I thought about him.

"Yes, I talked to him. But that's besides the point Bims. I mean, could anyone be that lame? I can not stand the prick. I was seconds away from stabbing him with my fork–" well I wasn't eating with a fork "–his fork."

Bims laughed and I smiled. Her laughter was contagious. "I totally agree with you." She did it again. She agreed with me.

"You're so dead!" I roared and lunged for her as she ran and her banshee like scream pierced through the room.

"I'm talking to you Ayobami!" I subtly hit the table for added effect. It mustn't have been subtle because I gained a few glares from other customers.

If Nathan was surprised that I knew his surname, he didn't show it. Only raised a perfectly arched eyebrow, the usual smirk kissing his lips.

His eyebrows made me more mad, like how could they be so...fine? They were putting mine to shame. "And what was the question?"

"What are you doing here? As you can see, the place isn't filled like yesterday. So can you and your friends scoot over to your table?"

Bims rolled eyes and Miriam, my best friend, shot Dave a glare. I loved Miriam, she was the only one who shared my feelings towards the trio.

"No, we're pretty okay here." Nathan waved dismissively and I scoffed. I glared at his eyebrows and wished I could shave them off. They were annoying as I was staring at them.

"What is?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. Ugh! "What is annoying?"

I was thinking out loud again. "Your eyebrows! They're annoying."

"They're beautiful." Bims said dreamily but thankfully, Miriam was there to smack her upside the head.

"Awwn" He cooed like a girl and I shook my head." Thanks for the compliment. I'm blushing."

"It wasn't a compliment doofus." I popped a fry into my mouth and chewed.

"Tell me, are you pretending to be stupid or it comes naturally?" I heard Miriam ask Dave and I snorted. Bims laughed too as well as Graig.

"The same way it comes to you." Dave retorted and I chuck a fry at him.

"Boo!"

"What's your name?" Nate asked and I looked to see that he was talking to me.

"I don't give my names to dicks." I said but when I saw the amused looks on the guys faces, I glared. "Your minds are so dirty."

"No, we just have colorful imaginations." Graig replied but I let it slide. We like him, remember? And he even saved my life yesterday so he's in my white book.

"Colourful my ass!"

"Easy with the body parts dear, this is not a biology class." Nate said and I was sure that I was blushing. One of the rare times I was proud to be black.

"Asshole!"

He made a dramatic surprised look. "That's extreme!"

His friends snickered, followed by Bims and Miriam. I gave her a look of betrayal and that made her laugh even more.

Did I say that he had a peanut sized brain? Well, scratch that. He had the brain of a starfish. And I didn't fail to point it out.

"You're funny, do you know?" He extended his hand and stole my fry. My eyes turned livid.

"Uh-oh, you're so dead." Bims informed him and he casted her a confused look.

"What do you mean?"

"If you knew me, you'd know that I don't joke with my food!" I roared, picking up my fork, ready to attack.

"I'd advice you to run for your life." Miriam told him but he was being stubborn, stealing more fries.

"You asshole, fries stealing motherfuc..." I lunged at him, ready to attack him, all the while raining colourful words at him. A hand pushed me down and I was ready to attack the owner when I saw who it was. I calmed down, we like this person. So no hurting.

"Calm down tiger." Graig said, pushing me down.

"Thank you!" Miriam mouthed to Graig who winked in return. Gross! Be nice Nora, we like Graig remember?

Yeah right.

"As much as it'd be fun to watch her rip you apart, I couldn't lose my best friend because of you. " Miriam told Nate who had a scared look on his face. Did he really think that I wouldn't stab him? After touching my food?

"Thanks Mir." I smiled at her.

"Mir?" Dave muttered, testing the name on his tongue. It rolled off nicely though, shocking isn't it?

"Hey! It's Miriam to you. They are the only ones who have the right to call me that."

"Well we're now three. What are you going to do about it? I'm Dave by the way. " He winked and Miriam flipped him off.

"Since we're exchanging names, I'm Nathan, and you are?" He directed at me and I ignored him.

"Nora. Her name is Nora." Bims said and I elbowed her, earning a grunt in response.

"Hmm. Nora, beautiful name. Pretty contrasting to the personality."

He didn't just say that? He called my personality ugly? "Quit defining yourself. I'm a sweetheart and the nicest person I know." I made a V shape with my hands under my chin and smiled sweetly.

"Oh, you mean shittiest? Yeah, I agree with that."

"Lame." I rolled my eyes. With the amount of times I rolled my eyes around him, I pray my eyes doesn't get stuck at the back of my head.

I looked around, the table was already divided. Graig and Bims were having a civil convo, while Mir looked like she was about to murder Dave who was doing things to irk her. I looked at him, really looked at him. He was handsome, and had a nice set of teeth, his dimples wasn't helping matters too–and knowing Mir, I doubt if she'd be able to resist much longer. Unlike Nate, Dave didn't hesitate in dishing out some smiles, though I knew it was to piss her off.

"What level are you?" Nate asked, drawing back my attention to him.

"It's none of your fucking business."
