Chapter 257: Just A Meal

"It would be better if you had your meal in your room." Eve remembered how Cherie had tried to convince her so that she would stay in her room. She tilted her head to look at her personal maid. The woman she had come to love as her family.

Cherie bowed her head instantly with guilt. Eve's eyes went colder. 

"The dress suits you well." Eve nodded. Though they both knew that it was not Eve who had gifted and only Damien could command the maids to take her things. He had given this dress to Eve and now he had taken it and let Hazel wear it as if it meant nothing. "You can keep it." 

The voice would have sounded nonchalant if Eve was not holding her dress tightly until her knuckles turned white. She felt sourness rising in her heart but she would not let her emotions control her. So, she looked away from the dress and concentrated on the table.
