Lin Chao and survivors boarded the truck of the muscular second lieutenant and were driven to the impoverished site of the base.

It used to be a huge square, but now a large number of camping tents filled the space. Survivors dressed in tatters wandered around outside the tents, there were pregnant ladies, elder people, and children; these are the vulnerable groups in the post-apocalyptic world. When they heard the truck, they stopped what they were doing. Clear eyes contrasted their dirtied faces that they had not washed up for a long time, gazed at the truck timidly.
