Chapter 37: 37 We Live Together

Kayla's POV

"Mommy!"

I turned my head and saw Harrison approaching with Daisy in his arms. Two pairs of strikingly similar green eyes turned to look at me simultaneously. One pair was clear and transparent, while the other was deep and inscrutable. My heart tightened, and I rushed towards my daughter.

"Daisy, come down. Let Mommy hold you."

Daisy obediently opened her arms, and I smoothly took her from Harrison's embrace.

"Thank you."

Feeling the weight of my daughter in my arms, my heart settled a bit, and I quietly thanked Harrison.

Harrison, on the other hand, emitted a perfunctory grunt from his nose as a response to my gratitude.

Daisy seemed to sense Harrison's displeasure. She tucked away her smile and carefully wrapped her arms around my neck, bringing her little head close to my ear as she whispered, "Mommy, did I make Harrison angry?"
