Chapter 1: My Beginning
"I'm gonna be late"
The young boy could feel the air against his as he charged across the crosswalk. The city was usually slower around this time, but with how special today was he felt stupid for not taking it into consideration. It was the Harvest festival and it wasn't some outdated agricultural celebration, but a harvesting of talent!
The young boy could be seen cutting corners left and right, today was not he could miss.
He needed to be picked for training, it was the only way to become a licensed awakened and gain some money while he was at it. The city was on the cusp of collapse, with the increase of deaths caused by monsters related attacks. Manpower was at a all time low causing the city's officials to call for kids who want a chance to awaken their abilities early to apply. The program was officially known as Nest, they would help kids with talent awaken and nurture them as needed.
Of course this would only be if he was chosen, if not he'd have to continue working a part-job busting his ass for meager credits.
