Chapter 4: Ch 04: Julia Baldera
"What are you doing?"
After Asako heard the familiar voice behind her, she turned her gaze towards the blond girl with blue eyes who has only a bath towel around her body.
"Y-Yo, JB." Asako slutters not knowing what to say.
She quickly fixes her outfit with the hope of making it seems like nothing has happened.
"Nothing of 'Yo'. What are you 'doing' in my apartment?" Says Yuria with flushed cheeks.
(She clearly saw what happened.) Says Asako in her mind.
Asako decides to give up in trying hiding what just happened to her friend. It wasn't like her. She just doesn't know how to start because... well, it's not something that you can tell as if it was normal. Like when you want to eat ice cream with meat steaks.
Well, that's not a good example, but I hope that you understood it.
...
Anyway, even if Asako wanted to say something, she didn't have the words.
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending to whom you ask, Yuria is the first to speak with a serious expression on her face.
"I hope you just didn't masturbate in the house of another person."
Asako doesn't know how to feel, if happy or guilty. Happy because she seems to don't know what just happened, but also guilty due to her best friend seeing her like some kind of pervert.
In 'normal' circumstances if she masturbates in her own house and Julia discovers her, she wouldn't be ashamed, after all that was her house. But if it was her best friend's house without asking her permission then that's another story.
Asako makes an apologetic expression, avoiding Yuria's eyes. "I'm sorry."
Seeing her best friend expression, Yuria just can't be mad at her anymore. "Haah. I know that you are not that kind of person." She gives Asako an understanding look. "What happened?"
"Well..."
Asako then stands up and turns her body to Yuria to see the child in her arms, who was now sleeping. Yuria just can only look at them with wide-open eyes.
"Is that..." She pauses her sentence while pointing her finger at the infant. "... your child?"
Asako's brain stops working again, trying to process her friend's words.
She shakes her head in negation. "No. I found him inside a trash bin. It's very probable that he was abandoned."
Yuria is in shock, but the rational part of her wanted to know more. "And his parents?"
"I don't know. Maybe they are the ones who did that." Asako's hatred is noticeable from her voice.
Yuria in her case, is clenching her fists very tightly with her fingernails in her palm. She just can't understand how someone, above all a parent, just abandon his or her own child like he was just garbage. It was... outrageous.
Yuria Harudera, former known as Julia Baldera, was an orphan. Her parents died when some people from a terrorist group arrived to her house and started to gun down everyone on sight. She managed to survive by hiding inside her wardrobe until the army arrived, killing all the attackers. Then she waited until the army found her.
After that, she received the notice that her parents died during the crossfire between both groups, making her hate the military, but at the same time grateful for kill the terrorist. Both of them contradictory feelings.
Then she was sent to the orphanage where she first met Asako.
At that time, Yuria's parents were the ones who told her to hide, while they tried to lure the attackers away from her. Due to that, Yuria just could feel love and respect for her parents, who risked their lives to protect her.
That's why she just couldn't understand why could someone would do something so horrible.
However, even if she is angry with people who she doesn't even know, there are more important things to do.
"What are you planning to do?" Asks Yuria.
"First of all, I'm going to search for those motherfuckers and have a little conversation with them." Asako makes an evil grin
"I mean about the child."
Both of remain in silence, until Asako speaks again.
"I will send him to an orphanage."
Yuria begins to clench her fists even tighter than before after hearing her words. Then she looks at the baby.
(He seems to be 2 months old at most.) She thinks.
"Asa-"
But before she tries to call her, the child starts to move violently in Asako's arms, and tears starts to cover his eyes as a waterfall.
"WAAA!" WAAAAAAA!"
His voice volume starts to rise up until a deafening sound is the only thing that they can hear. His red strawberry eye was changing into a shining blue, like his left one.
Asako, having a strong psyche; she manages to stay conscious against the deafening soundwaves. However, Yuria, who is weaker than her, can barely stand on her feet.
Asako knows that if this continues, then her friend would die.
But the problem is that she doesn't know why the child was crying when only seconds ago was calmly sleeping.
She tries to think in a solution, but the sound isn't helping her to think with ease.
Then she remembers what she just said, and with a plan in mind, she decides to give it a shot.
Now the child eyes were turning black with blue irises. His tears were also turning black, looking as something like slime, and finally, two sharp fangs are now coming out from his toothless denture.
But even with this transformation occurring in front of her, she can notice the sadness and loneliness in the child's eyes.
She then starts hugging him with affection and with a sweet voice, she says to him. "Don't worry. I'm going to stay with you, forever."
It was a gamble. She doesn't know if this is really going to work. But at the next moment, the child's eyes are turning back to normal, and is stopping to cry.
The deafening sound now can't be heard anymore too.
Then, the child starts to sleep calmly in her embrace.
"Haaah." She sighs in relief.
She then turns her gaze around the room, noticing some glass vases and even the bulletproof windows have cracks on them.
When Asako turns to Yuria, she notice that her body is now in the floor.
Using her Magis power, she begins to check Yuria's condition. Then she concludes that she didn't receive any major damage in her body she just fainted.
"Well, this is a mess."

Also, because Yuria's past is a little unclear in the anime, I took some liberties to add some parts.
