Chapter 1 The Blessed one.
~Western Desert, a small oasis
In a nomad tent, a nineteen years old man open his eyes, this young man is name Yuzhe, he is a mortal servant of the Fengyun merchant caravan.
'So, the ROB did reincarnate me, unfortunately I didn't have any say on his decision.' Yuzhe thinks while standing up.
He takes a look at his memories, and conclude that he is in the Gu world Western Desert, Yuzhe before receiving his memories decides to work for the Fengyun caravan to have a chance at becoming a Gu master.
Western Desert population are the most reliant on trade and caravan of all the regions, first because most clan can't become autonomous due to the lack of diversity around a single oasis.
The lack of diversity pushed the diverse forces to cooperate in order to survive, that cooperation gave nomad caravan an important role and with it many benefits one of them allowing every mortal who serve a caravan for seven years a chance to try awakening their aperture for a fee of course.
Yuzhe will reach the quota next year but he currently lacks the fund necessary.
Yuzhe train of though breaks as a dark-haired young man enter the tent.
"Yuzhe, did your headache stop?" Asks Yize.
Yize and Yuzhe are friends, they joined the caravan at the same time and bound over time with them being orphans and always together.
"Yes, it left after a good night rest." Yuzhe answers.
"You did sleep for a long time, I had to explain to Lin Feng that you were sick and take over your work for him to let you sleep." Yize explain in a kind tone he seems to always have.
"Thanks buddy, I owe you one." Yuzhe answer before they left the tent and walk toward the mess tent.
As they take place at one of the tables in the mess tent after they took their lunch portion of sand rice, the only food that grow well enough in the Western Desert for it to sustain the mortals.
The sand rice has no taste, is far too dense and feel like eating sand, but at least it saves mortals from famines.
"I heard rumour about a battle between the Zhen clan and their neighbour the Quan clan." Yize informs while they eat.
'That's an important news since the oasis shared by these two clans is our next stop.' Thinks Yuzhe calmly.
Yuzhe didn't fear for his life because he know he can get away if the situation where to become problematic. While the ROB didn't give him a choice on anything, outside of his willingness to reincarnate or sink into the void for eternity, he did give him a Golden Finger. He receives a mix of the Portalmaster, Mover and Blank essences letting Yuzhe teleport himself if shit were to hit the fan.
'The more I think about the potential of this essence, the more I like it.'
~End of the day
Yuzhe and Yize are in their tent on their respective sleeping bag, that consist mostly of the tanned pelt of a desert wolf. Yize already sank in the dream realm (not really, he is just asleep), Yuzhe is experimenting with his new essence. He first discovers a connection to a one cubic meter space where time doesn't flow probably a gift from ROB.
He also tries moving one of his few shirts, before moving himself a bit; he discovers that he has a cooldown related to the size, the distance separating him and the object and another parameter.
He can feel the end point of his teleportation, he can teleport everywhere he ever saw or sense but can't seems to use his Earth memories as an end point.
'I probably can feel blessed land and other sub-dimensions if I ever come close to one since I have the Portalmaster Essence.' Yuzhe thinks full of expectation.
With this happy thought and a bright future Yuzhe drifted to sleep for the first time in the Gu world.
~Three days later
The Fengyun caravan can be seen traversing a desertic plain where a scorching sun and powerful winds are omni-present like most of the Western Desert.
A powerful sound coming from a kilometre is heard by the caravan.
"Howl!!!"
That howl broke the caravan march, the Gu master came forth to protect the goods while the mortal tries to hide the best they can hoping no stray wolf will find them.
Yuzhe watch from his hiding place as the wolf pack that consist of a Hundred Beast King and near two hundred wolfs, one hundred of the wolfs start running toward the caravan.
Fengyun caravan Gu masters consist of a Rank 4, two Rank 3, twenty Rank 2 and around forty Rank 1.
'The Rank 1 Gu masters are ordered to fight the first wave, after all a Gu master need to fight to improve and the Rank 1 clearly need some training. 'He thinks noticing the Rank 1 Gu masters trembling at the sight of one hundred wolves rushing them with murderous intent clearly visible.
The wolves attack relentlessly the Gu masters killing some of them but most of them were only injured, just before the last of the hundred wolves died the Hundred Beast King along with the rest of the wolves' attack joining the remaining wolves on the battlefield. With the King movement, the Gu masters move too, the Rank 1 retreat to a safer place while the Rank 2 and 3 Gu masters take the front.
Even with the stronger Gu masters, some wolves were able to kill some mortals and Gu masters.
Yuzhe in his hiding place saw that some Gus where floating away from the dead Gu masters and he tried to teleport one from the battlefield to his pocket dimension, he can't help but show a smile when he feels a Rank 1 Wind Blade Gu In stasis in his Dimension.
Unfortunately, the distance separating him from the Gus is large making his cooldown longer than he though letting him only teleport another Gu before the Hundred Beast King is slain ending the battle.
After the battle, the Gu masters are tasked with recuperating any Gus that survived and the mortals like Yize and Yuzhe are tasked with burning the fallen Gu masters, collecting the ashes and process the dead wolves. Before they continue their travel.
~Fifteen Days later
During the last fifteen days, the Fengyun caravan was attacked twice letting Yuzhe amass three Rank 1 Gus making his personal wealth soar to two primeval stones and five Rank 1 Gus, most of the Gus being Wind and Fire paths.
The caravan is rapidly approaching the Zhen Quan Oasis, the atmosphere is tense even if the two clans stop fighting during the caravan stay.
Yuzhe and Yize can be seen assembling the diverse caravan's tents along with other mortals.
After setting up the tents, the two friends decide to explore the oasis and the surrounding villages, as they tour the oasis, Yuzhe eyes widen before he supresses his running emotion.
That night while the majority of the caravan is sleeping, he uses his teleportation ability to open a portal close to the oasis. As he touches the portal, he didn't feel anyone in the other side, so he walks through it and start looking for the Blessed Land he found earlier during his walk.
As the sensation amplify, he extends his hand to touch the sand where he feels closely the Blessed Land, he opens an invisible portal in this sub-dimension and start studying the feedback his portal sends him.
He creates multiple portals through the Blessed land, as he tries to map the dimension, he noticed several things, first a Land Spirit looking like an old wizard with long white hair, beard and wing. Secondly a clear lack of a master for the blessed land letting him dream. And thirdly, it's a clear wind path Blessed land seeing the numerous sways of the few trees still standing and the large number of birds flying.
Yuzhe decides to take his chance with the land spirit, knowing he can run as long as he didn't get instant kill. As he appears in the entry hall of a mansion build in the middle of the Blessed Land, his apparition got an immediate reaction from the wizard land spirit making him rush through the diverse room of the mansion while creating a big whirlwind as he flies.
The wizard land spirit stops before Yuzhe making his hair and cloth fly back as the wind continue without the land spirit.
"Welcome mortal, since you aren't awakened you can become my master as long as you swear an oath to inherit and assure the continuity of the original owner Wind path Inheritance." The wizard land spirit explains with a jovial tone, probably happy to have finally an inheritor.
"I accept." Yuzhe answer happily. 'Obviously, I won't refuse a free blessed land.' He thinks
With the acceptance from Yuzhe, the wizard land spirit leads him to a valley where the wind seems to be a constant and he uses Wind Oath Immortal Killer move after a good 30 seconds of concentration.
And with that Yuzhe become the master of Yifeng the newly named land spirit.
"The blesse land is 3500 square meters, it has some small and mid-scale spirit springs, but most importantly there is a large scall one below the mansion. I think master should use it to awaken first." Yifeng explain as he leads Yuzhe inside the underground of the mansion.
Yuzhe nod in response and ask about the immortal essence stone, beads and Gu.
"There are still 5 Immortal essence stones, twelves essence beads and Fierce Wind Immortal Gu a Rank 6 wind path Gu." Answer trustfully Yifeng.
As they reach the step of the large underground stairs, Yuzhe is hit by the breathtaking view, a water so pure you can see through as if there wasn't water.
Yuzhe start walking forward, stepping in the spring, he walks 39 steps before stopping as an aperture appear below his stomach filled as 98% with jade green primeval essence. As an A grade talent, he can recover 16% of essence per hour, and has a high probability of reaching Rank 5 even more with a Blessed land as his disposition.
Yifeng laugh in joy seeing that Yuzhe has so much talent, promising an easy rise for his master.
After that happy episode, Yuzhe ask Yifeng for the inheritance and Yifeng lead him to the master office where Yuzhe receive the inheritance and some other information path Gu that record many things about Western Desert, cultivation, and general knowledge from mortals to Gu immortal such as Treasure Yellow Heaven, Heavenly Court and Divine sense Gu.
The inheritance is a Rank 6 one with the original master devoting his two hundred and fifty years of life to create it and improve it.
Yuzhe decide to quit the caravan after weighting his option, but he still wishes to give a chance to Yize due to the brotherly bond they share.
Yuzhe appear back in his tent, it's now three in the morning, where Yize sleeps and woke him up.
Yize seeing that Yuzhe woke him up, look at him strangely as if asking why did he do that.
"Brother if I tell you that I can let you become Gu master before tomorrow and that we will reach the peak of the Gu master cultivation, will you quit the caravan and follow me in this unknown adventure?" Yuzhe ask seriously without a hint of playfulness, showing how important this question is.
He takes a second to assimilate what Yuzhe told him before smiling brightly.
"Of course, I would brother don't you remember five years ago we promised each other to become Gu masters together and to travel the world and it's mysteries." He answers remembering the old times.
"Then let's go." Yuzhe says before extending his hand "To our promising future."
Yize grab Yuzhe hand and they disappear along with their belongings.
They appear before Yifeng with Yize totally shocked by what is happening and he fall to the ground from shock.
As he stands up, he asks Yuzhe about the Yifeng and where they are.
~Hours later
After all the explanation and a world breaking experience for Yize, he was brought at the spirit spring where he awakens a C grade aperture filled at 50%. He was a bit sad about it but knowing talent upgrade Gu exist he got out of it quickly.
After a short rest, the two of them start cultivating till they ran out of essence, then Yize use Essence stones to continue cultivating while I meet with Yifeng to organise the Blessed land, after all it have only one mortal resource point and some uncommon birds that can be used as currency. It's enough to survive the Earthly calamities but not enough to survive another Heavenly tribulation, the good point is that the last Earth Calamity was three years ago, so we don't aren't rushed for the next one.
~One year later
A young man can be seen walking in the desert toward an oasis. As he arrived before the main village gate, he shows his plate with 3 vertical marks showing his identity as a Rank 3 Gu master.
An elder of the Huo clan arrives soon after, with a kind smile he open the gate and shake hand with the young man before they enter the Huo clan village.
"How was your trip Yuzhe." Says the middle-aged man.
"Good to see you too Fen"
They reach Huo Fen compound; they take seat in Huo Fen office.
"Do you, have it?" ask Fen eagerly.
"Of course I have." Yuzhe answer while an information Gu appears on his hand.
"Yes, Yes, let me check the information." Fen says and after ten seconds he put his hand on his stomach as an information path Gu flew out of it.
"Always a pleasure doing business with you" Yuzhe says as he sends the Gu in his dimension after checking his content.
Seeing that the Huo clan didn't have another request for information he stand up and left the village.
As he walks into the desert, he recalls a bit of what happen in the last year, first his aperture cultivation was since he has access to millions of primeval essence stones and liquor worm Gus. Both Yize and him have a complete immortal inheritance, letting them skip over some useless steps and concentrate on different fighting style and the three steps of Gu mastery.
After that as he knew that to accumulate Human Qi, he needed to have his own adventure he left the blessed land as an initial Rank 3 Gu master to explore Western Desert and hopefully finds some blessed land.
He wanted to make his journey a rentable one so he starts an information business where he exchanges information for Gu recipes or Gu related information of the same Rank.
With his two months business he amasses a grand total of thirty completed exchanges and with it his fame start spreading. His teleportation ability let him travel long distance extremely fast, he can spy using invisible portals letting him be unseen.
During this two month his stumble upon a Blessed land, an unowned one at that but he didn't get the land spirit recognition because he needed to be part of the Tian super clan. For the blessed land recognition, you just need a special token they all carry, but unfortunately, it's quite hard to find. While observing the blessed land he remarks that it has a day and night cycle showing its high quality even among Rank 7 blessed land and even more interesting, the original master follow the path Yuzhe wish to follow making him determined to take one of the famous tokens.
