Chapter 122: Chapter 2457 Demon Path
Giant Sun continued to observe the Dream Realm as a spectator.
"Everyone gather around, I'm going to read a list of names, those that I call step forth," Ying Xiong began calling:

Giant Sun began to deduce what Fate could have done to help Feng Jin Huang become a Great Dream.
As he was deducing,
Ying Xiong read one last name: "…and finally, your new leader and hope, my successor, Chen Hong."
The cave erupted with praise and chants, but there was also a feeling of reluctant dread.
Those whose names weren't called were cheering, tears of bittersweetness rolled down their eyes,
They began making their way to the cave's entrance, those selected stayed behind the entrance while those who didn't get called stepped out,
The 2 groups looked at each other one last time, and said their final goodbyes:
"Be strong for the clan, okay? Grow up, get married, have lots of kids and keep the clan alive, and we'll be cheering you on, okay?"
Not all the parents of the children selected were allowed to stay; only 1 parent from each child.
And in the case of siblings, if they showed no talent then even, they had to follow the sacrificial group:
"We're going Brother Bei, remember us, okay? We'll all play together in the sun someday!"
At the entrance of the cave, there was 1 goodbye that everyone gave space for:
"Father don't go, you can stay, Master Ying Xiong said it would be fine, one more person wouldn't make a difference," tears were dripping from his chin.
Naturally, it was the successor and first leader of the Gu Clan Chen; Chen Hong.
As the leader, he bore the hope of their clan, and thus, Ying Xiong was prepared to make an exception to his parents but:
"No. I will go with you all." Chen Hong's father, Chen Qiang, spoke up: "Master Ying, I am a nobody, my son is the genius, if I stay as a full adult male, they may not have enough resources to get through, I can't teach them how to use Gu nor read nor write, the adults you let stay, despite their lack of talent, are educated, and what kind of man would I be if I left my brothers to go die alone."
Chen Qiang's words touched the hearts of all those presents, his buddies who he had lived life with for years came up to him and they all hugged, tears dripping down their faces onto each other.
"Brothers for life! Either we go together, come back together or die together!"
This chant galvanized the morale of the Chen Clan, they all wanted to give their all so that in the future their descendants could live in an era of peace.
As Chen Hong was crying, snot dripping from his face:
Chen Qiang placed both his arms onto Chen Hong's shoulder: "Son remembers your promise to us okay? Be strong for your fellow clansmen, ok? And remember a real man doesn't break his promises!"
Hearing his father's last words, Chen Hong tried his best to hold in his tears: "I-I wi-ll become a man worthy of bearing the name Chen!"
But despite his best attempts to be resolute, brave and strong, tears were still leaking out of his eyes.
Chen Qiang hugged his son one last time and gave him a big pat on the back, "That's my boy."
When they separated, Chen Qiang brought out Chen Hong's hand, placed something in it, and closed his hand:
"This is a keepsake, that I stole from the Rockmen right when all the slaves were freed, I was hoping that one day it be of use to use, but I think the day has come where it'll be of use to you."
Chen Hong looked at his hand, and in it was a Gu!
A rank 1 Gu.
"What Gu is this?" Chen Hong asked.
"I don't know," Cheng Qiang shrugged: "All I know is that this little bugger keeps drinking my rice wine!"
Chen Qiang laughed, but in truth, he had grown quite attached to his little drinking buddy, even if he couldn't use its power.
"Take good care of him," Cheng Qiang whispered to both the Gu and Chen Hong.
The sacrificial group made their way out of the cave, and as they left, they triggered a cave in to collapse the entrance.
As the rocks came tumbling down,
Chen Qiang looked back and waved one last time to his son:
"I love you."
*Boom*
And the cave was sealed shut.
The sacrificial group then decorated the sealed entrance with dirt, stone, leaves and trees, to make it look like it was a natural part of the mountains.
Afterwards, they began their journey towards their inevitable death or worse…capture.
The Dream ended there.
"Interesting…" Giant Sun rubbed his chin: "My guess was right; this was a Human Path Dream Realm."
!!!
Indeed, Giant Sun's Human Path attainment was now Master!
"I now see the root of Human Path; it's legacy! Building on the ideas of the past, while protecting the future, that's what the earliest Humans were willing to do. That's what leaving a legacy means, to give to the next generation."
Giant Sun suddenly had a thought: "Heaven Path is the path of being an immortal, Human Path is the chasing of immortality so then is there a Demon Path? And if there is what do they stand for?"
Meanwhile,
"Oh? Demon Path? How interesting?" Fang Yuan rubbed his chin.
He had just finished a Demon Path Dream Realm, obtaining Master Attainment in Demon Path!
Rewinding to the start of the Fang Yuan's foray into the Demon Path Dream Realm.
Fang Yuan had just cleared an Ice Path Dream Realm, bringing his Ice Path attainment to Great Grandmaster!
"Perfect, once I achieve Quasi-Supreme Grandmaster in Ice Path, I can incorporate it into the Dao of Elements, but I need to work on Lightning Path as well."
Fang Yuan felt his Dao of Elements grow more complete as he breezed through Dream Realms, in the entire 5 Regions, no one was faster at exploring Dream Realms than Fang Yuan!
Throughout his time, he had managed to pick up a few clues, "It seems that the Dream Realms I'm in is not small at all, despite clearing so many Dream Realms, I don't seem to be anywhere near an end, and it seems like Heavenly Court still can't attack me," Fang Yuan rubbed his chin.
Indeed, even though Heavenly Court couldn't kill Fang Yuan in the Dream Realm, he knew they hadn't even attempted it.
This was because his Heaven Path Killer Move, Heavenly Web Protection Veil, would give off signs of him being attacked, even if he was in a Dream Realm.
"And it would also alert my clones, which would then prompt them to investigate what was wrong with the main body and allow me to wake up."
Indeed, Fang Yuan had thought of many possible contingencies, one of which was in the event he got caught in a Dream Realm, without activating Dream Armor Gu.
The plan was for his clones to try and salvage the situation by activating Dream Armor Gu around the Main Body.
This would isolate Fang Yuan from the Dream Realms, and gradually woke him up.
But if all else failed there was always 1 final contingency, Time Path Immortal Killer Move: One Day; Three Autumns.
The Killer Move allowed one to go back in time 3 hours, 3 times.
Fang Yuan could not use the move casually, as with Red Lotus now cultivating the Dao of Spacetime, he could easily stop the move even if Fang Yuan activated it personally!
And even if the move worked, Red Lotus would still get a sensation that Time had been altered.
As the move could not go back further than 3 hours, it would be especially easy for Red Lotus to peer into what the supposed future was.
This would mean that anything could happen, no information would be reliable.
Fang Yuan would only know what to look out for, but Heavenly Court could just change their plans!
It was a risky move that would only be activated in the most desperate of circumstances.
"But since, I'm still alive and in a Dream Realm it means nothing has happened yet, but that doesn't mean I'm out of danger."
Thinking up to here, Fang Yuan began to brace himself for the next Dream Realm.
When Fang Yuan's eyes gradually adjusted to,
He saw a clear blue sky; various Natural Heavenly Treasures were lying around in fields.
Fang Yuan looked at his hands, information suddenly began to pour into his mind, trying to overwrite his memories:
"Arg Hmph!" Fang Yuan felt pain at first but then he snorted: "I'm in a Heaven Path Dream Realm?"
Heaven Path Dream Realms were incredibly rare and unique, it required the Heavenly Dao to give up a part of its own True Meaning.
Whatever attainment one gains from a Heaven Path Dream Realms is forever lost to the Heavenly Dao.
"If I seize this Dream Realm my Heaven Path attainment could rise to Quasi or even Great Grandmaster!"
Fang Yuan wanted to achieve Supreme Grandmaster in Heaven Path to achieve his plans.
"Obtaining Heaven Path Supreme Grandmaster will make me invincible amongst the Venerables, I should even be able to hold up against those 2…"
Of course, the 2 Fang Yuan was talking about was Primordial Origin and Reckless Savage!
The 2 of them were the only true Dao Emperors in the Gu World, they had condensed a full-fledge Dao Fruit, and were no longer bounded by the need to use Gu.
Humans had to use Gu to communicate with the Heavenly Dao as Gu was the essence of Heaven and Earth.
But by becoming a Dao Emperor, one needed a Dao Fruit, which is obtained by combining a bunch of related Immortal Gu, this then allows a Dao Emperor to access all the abilities they had at a fraction of the cost and thought.
"But there's a price to pay by becoming a Dao Emperor…giving up your Humanity!"
Indeed, Fang Yuan knew why Reckless and Primordial did not interact or shape the world after ascending, it's because, in exchange for their godlike powers, they become and exist halfway between Gu and Man.
They embodied the Essence of Heaven and Earth and the Spirit of all Living Beings.
But not fully.
To fully combine with a Dao Fruit, one has to sever their ties with the Mortal World, they no longer operate on the same frequency as mortals.
Thus, they could only observe and plot from afar, not even being able to touch the mortal world.

zulbucks Sorry, I took a break because I have been suffering from writer's block.
I can see the ending but I am having a hard time getting there, I don't know if I want to end the story in 30 chapters or 100 chapters.
I am building towards an ending but I don't want it to be too rushed, yet I also don't want it to be too slow.
In a month or so, I won't be able to upload content consistently as I would have to serve my country's military.
I really want to end it by then, but I also don't want to give you guys a rushed ending...
