Chapter 5: Red And Confuse

Heading to the company, I checked the plans and works that is listed on the iPod that I probably don't know. As I prompt myself again, the taxi stopped at the front of the company.
Facing the sole place that which I mostly exhausted my energy the whole day brought a weird feeling.
The structure overlapped with the sovereign building that I saw in my dream 9 years later after I died. There were lots of adjustments and the building definitely elevated a lot.
The unusual feeling itches. That vivid dream feels so real that it somehow overlaps with my memory that I now compare things between reality and my dream. That dream, no matter what, really bothers me.
While considering and thinking about that dream in some ways I end up being perturbed and only snapped out of it when I looked at the time in my watch, it was already 7:15 AM so I think about it and end up concluding that I should ask a professional about the dream and stop spending my time thinking but still going nowhere.
Considering the time, I entered the building as I discarded the bothering feeling.
My body already memorised the daily habits like checking in and making an Americano coffee for Su Jie Sheng.
My apartment is quite near the Company so I arrived early.
Checking the time at my wrist watch, it's already 7:30 AM. In a couple of minutes, Su Jie Sheng will arrive because that man can't tolerate laziness and deeply appreciates productivity.
When it exactly reached 7:50 AM, I looked over at the window and glanced down to see if that man's pragmatic and clockwork body is still the same as I remembered at my memory.
Su Jie Sheng's chauffeur is hired by thorough trials. Being the man he is, ofcourse, he's subordinates are also efficient in their jobs.
When Su Jie Sheng entered the building, I arranged the files in my desk that is needed for his signature.
More and more employees arrived as the hand of the clock approaches 8:00 A.M.
After a few calls from the other companies and collaborators for a project, I entered the office of Su Jie Sheng to tell him today's meeting information and accompanied him to write down the necessary modifications in the plan.
Our company's central point is shipments and airlines with subsidary hotels which all of it is allocated and scattered around the globe.
Leaving the meeting room, I asked Su Jie Sheng if he is going out to eat lunch since there is no schedule for a meeting.
"We are eating out. Reserve a table in a seafood restaurant near the block."
I took out my phone and dialed a restaurant for reservation.
He must want to tell me something since he wants me to join him eating.
Entering, we are greeted by the receptionist and asked if we have reservations and leaded us into the table.
Seating besides the window, we are given a menu and Su Jie Sheng picked it up and ordered for the both of us. While currently waiting for the food to be served, he broke the silence and asked me.
"Did your wounds give you difficulties?"
"No, they are only external wounds so it was not really a problem with daily activities." I smiled while giving him an assurance.
"Hmm, that's good." He said.
"Protein.." I heard him mumbled
"Hmm? What about protein, Boss?" I asked him
"Eat a lot of protein." He said
Huh? I'm kind of inept at biology about nutrition so I don't know why did he mention to eat a lot of protein.
"Okay..." I just dumbly answered even though I don't know what for.
Suddenly, a waiter arrived at our table
"Good day, ma'am and sire, I wish you would enjoy the food." The waiter gave us a bright smile as he placed the foods.
Su Jie Sheng handed me a plate. When I looked at what he ordered for me, it was a Bourbon-Glazed Salmon. My favourite...
Although i don't know if it was a coincidence or if he already knows that it was my favourite...
Unbeknownst to me, my lips lifted and seems can't be pulled down at the moment.
After snapping out of it, I saw what he ordered.
"Do you like scallops?" I asked him
"Yes, it's called 'Scallop Piccata With Sautèed Spinach'. It's quite delicious." He answered while picking up his fork.
"Thank you for ordering my food. It's my favourite actually."
He gave a "hmm" acknowledging it as he slowly digs into his food.
After we finish eating our food, we splitted the bill. We then headed to the company.
The afternoon was actually quite hectic because of a project of a new airline that that is based on Korea. Just handling the calls, the engineers, and the papers that is needed for consideration and the signature of the Chief Executive Officer, Su Jie Sheng, already makes me busy.
At the end of the day, me and Su Jie Sheng ended up having an overtime. It was already around 10 PM when we finished the day worth of tasks.
"Let's go, I'll give you a ride." He said.
"Then I'll take you up on it!" I grinned
After riding a few minutes, we arrived at my apartment. Sometimes when we overtime and finish working late, Su Jie Sheng offers to give me a lift.
I get off the car and knock at the window to tell something to him. Su Jie Sheng rolled down the window.
"Thank you for giving me a lift, Boss!" I said with a grin.
"Hmm." He acknowledged.
"Have a safe ride then." I bid them off with a smile wait.
"Wait a moment." He said.
"Yes?" I asked him
"Call me Sheng when we are not in the office, it's quite... uncomfortable. If we count the years you have work for and known me and still calling me Boss." He said.
I was a little dumbfounded and then turned into a red tomato because of embarrassment and then bursts into laughter when I realized it was really the truth.
"Hahahaha, alright then, have a safe trip Sheng." I told him while wiping under my eyes, checking if I shed a few tears because of laughing.
Then suddenly a hand touched my cheeks and wiped the tears.
What? Hand? All of my attention was focused at the hand. Then suddenly snapping out of it, I traced where that hand belongs to while my whole body shakes
It was Su Jie Sheng's. The owner of the hand was Su Jie Sheng. My laughter was suddenly swallowed in my throat... My eyes went back from the hand and into the face, back and forth.
"Look at this, you laughed too much that you shed a few tears" he said while wiping my eyes
"..." I was loss of words at the moment, as if the time stopped
"Hmm, I'll head back now, you should enter your apartment, it's quite cold outside." He told me with a smile.
"..." My brain is still processing until it reached the overheat stage.
What...? He— he is a little offbeat today. Why is he being so affectionate today? I don't know why... But it feels like I'm back again at my dream when I was comatose. Those days when he was accompanying me and wiping my arms when I was sleeping in the hospital bed.
When the car engine started again, Su Jie Sheng also dropped a sentence before leaving:
"I knew, I knew from the start that you like it so that's why I chose it. Get in now, it's already late." After that he left.
I was left over there; red and confuse.
