Chapter 17: Fast progress
Sasuke didn't have to worry about his pride in that situation, so he readily asked Sakura for some tips. She also said a bunch of theoretical mumbles jumble about chakra… maybe she was the type that can do things and can't explain them.
"So, you need to have a good feeling when controlling it; you either have it or obtain it by training," Sasuke said.
"Yes… sorry that I can't help you anymore with this," Sakura forced a smile.
"You heard her, you moron," Sasuke turned around and then looked at Naruto, who was listening to them while pretending that he wasn't. "You are supposed to be good at doing repetitive things, right? Then an idiot like you only has that option."
"What did you say?" Naruto got up and glared at Sasuke.
Sasuke ignored him and then called a shadow clone. Everyone around opened their eyes widely when he did that. That was supposed to be a high-ranked technique, and even if Sasuke had the Sharingan…
In any case, he sat down on the ground and closed his eyes while his clone began to climb the tree. While he could have used that extra amount of chakra for training, he thought that it would be more efficient if the real him were to rest and infuse his chakra. At least, it would be if he were to do that all day.
"Get a good feeling of the energy while infusing and molding it… I should be able to make my techniques stronger that way," Sasuke thought. "I will consume more energy, but one big-ass Fireball technique is way better than four medium-sized ones."
While using his shadow clone, Sasuke was able to train his ninjutsu two times faster and just like he had expected; when the shadow clone disappeared out of exhaustion, he was ready to call another. The tiredness didn't affect him that much since he spent several hours sitting on the ground and saving his energy. At the same time, he noticed that the clone increased his progress by two meters.
"Not bad for a single morning, I guess," Sasuke thought, and then he looked around and noticed that Sakura had already reached the top of the highest tree. "Maybe it is actually bad…"
If only Sakura could be that skilled when it really matters… then again, things were bound to change, so Sasuke didn't have to think too much about it. In any case, Naruto managed to reach three meters of height, so he was making progress as well.
"We have one week, perhaps too, if Zabuza doesn't use medicine or something else… I want to finish this training in three days and then ask Kakashi what he knows about ocular genjutsu," Sasuke thought and then made his shadow clone work again.
Since they skipped lunch, they were starving when Naruto and Sasuke returned to the house. They filled their bellies to the point that they looked like Chouji.
"Nothing happened today on the bridge, but I like things this way," Kakashi said. "Regardless, Sakura already finished the training, so she can come with me to guard Mister Tazuna. The other two slowpokes will continue training until they achieve the same."
Sasuke wanted to sigh, but he just got up and returned to the room after putting his bowl on the sink. At the same time, he left the room, and the kid with the hat showed up.
"What was his name again… Inari?" Sasuke thought. "Whatever; I am sure what he needs is to hear a preachy twelve years old Shinobi that wears orange clothes."
Once Sasuke returned to the room, he immediately fell asleep since his body was tired and yet relaxed. In the end, Sasuke achieved his goal of reaching the top of the thirty meters tall tree in just three days. At the same time, he felt like he had way better control over his chakra… when he tried to jump and run around while using his energy to boost his movements, he confirmed that he moved two times faster.

"Keeping the training orbs… maybe I should use them to improve my Fire Style," Sasuke thought while he was returning to Tazuna's house at noon.
Naruto was yet to reach twenty meters of height… but at least he was determined since he hated the idea of feeling inferior to Sasuke in any way.
"Do you think that you can start the next level of this training?" Kakashi suddenly asked.
"... Weren't you guarding Tazuna?" Sasuke looked to the side and then saw Kakashi reading a book near a tree.
"He called the day after the last workers decided to quit," Kakashi explained. "I am a bit bored, but I can help you. It wouldn't be fair to let you two waste time just because Naruto is a bit slow."
"Rather than that, I want you to help me learn some genjutsu with my Sharingan," Sasuke said.
"Hoh, that is an interesting wish," Kakashi said and then closed his erotic novel.
