Chapter 39: Chapter 39 - Dreams
"All these people who passed... " Jun spoke "I'm sorry I couldn't save you"
The cemetery was quiet and the entire town was also quiet. There haven't been any new buildings on Mainland for quite a long time. "It's sad," Clay says as he leans on the walls of the cemetery. Clay is Jun's friend. He was the man who tried killing Jun during the New Month celebration. Ever since that day, they've become good friends rather than enemies.
"Yeah," Jun sat there and placed the flowers down on Irene's grave. "It's been a few days since Mark left, huh?" Jun asks Clay. Clay responds "Yeah, three"
Then Jun stands up "To all the humans that died on this planet... I think I finally know why we're here"
THE DREAMS
In the middle of nowhere in the desert... Jun is walking with a group of people.
"Oh no!" A girl screamed out "The airship is here!!"
Everyone ran to take cover behind a rock. Jun ran too. The airship passed but then started sending troops down to the desert.
The soldiers began searching as the airship landed. Jun and the rest were scared. A few minutes later they got caught as a few people tried to run for their lives. Jun stayed because he knew they couldn't do anything about it.
"What'll you do to me?" Jun asked the soldiers. The soldier spoke "Talk to the president"
Jun was thrown into the ship and the president stood before him—President Williams; wearing a gas mask, covering his face.
"We need you, Hisano... you have to go there" He spoke.
"Need me for what!!? Your plans on kidnapping me and sending me to another planet!!? Is that what it is!? I have siblings waiting for me at home! And now-...." Jun suddenly remembers what happened to his home.
He hopes everyone's okay. He fell to the ground and began to cry. "Come on" The president walks into the headquarters of the airship.
The vision goes black. Jun wakes up at his house in Kepkury. Jun's been getting more and more visions of what happened and how he was put there. "God damn it," He says "Another useless dream"
RISE OF IZUZUNU
VOLUME 5, CHAPTER 39, DREAMS
PRESIDENT'S TERRITORY, IZUZUNU, NEXT DAY
"I wonder how everyone is... I really haven't been to Mainland in a few days" Xuanyu said to himself while sitting on the chairs at 07's restaurant. It was actually a baking shop. 07 baked a lot of cakes, bread, and cookies.
"Four pieces of bread for Xuanyu" 07 shouted out. Xuanyu walks to the front and grabs the food "Thanks!" He began taking out money but 07 stopped him "No, no, no, you don't need to pay. President's discount" He laughed and exclaimed.
"Thank you so much" Xuanyu leaves the store. Xuanyu bites into the bread "That's freaking delicious!"
The bread is filled with delicious red cream inside it, also known as girugua cream. Girugua is a fruit only on Kepkury. It's red and has the shape of a grape. 07 smashes the giruguas and somehow turns them into cream. Don't know how it's his secret.
"Wha-" Xuanyu stopped walking and stood still. Jun stood in front of him with his full armor on. "Jun! Hey! Why are you wearing all that?" Xuanyu asks.
"Some citizens still hate me, this is to protect me if someone tries to kill me," He said.
"Well... you need something?" He smiled.
Jun didn't smile though "I need your help"
Xuanyu then shouted "Come on man! We don't need another war! It's been so peaceful for the past three days!" He says.
"This isn't about war... it's about the truth of humans" Jun spoke "I've been getting more and more visions every time I sleep. It's getting to the point where it's not even a little flash... it's like... actual dreams"
"See! It's just dreams!" Xuanyu laughed. "The dreams feel real... It felt like I was there... which I was... My real name is Hisano Suzuki"
"Hisano... Suzuki?" Xuanyu asked. "Yeah... that name sounds so weird on me though, please don't ever call me that," Jun says.
"Wait- You never knew your real name??" Xuanyu was in shock. Jun answered "Yeah... I guess the president didn't want me to keep that name"
"President?" Xuanyu asked, confused. Jun turned around and began walking to Xuanyu's house. He followed along and opened the doors to his house.
They both sat down on the kitchen table and Jun grabbed an apple and took a bite "Before Mark left that day, three random people visited Izuzunu and went to eat at SukiSushi. Chloe said they felt odd... like weird. She had a strange feeling about them" Jun spoke.
"Maybe they were just people visiting our country?" Xuanyu asked. "I don't know..." Jun replied "... but, they dressed up kind of weird. They kind of looked like bad people. Their ripped clothing... and mask"
"Come on, they're probably homeless" Xuanyu tries to be optimistic "It's just trauma, Jun. You're overthinking because we've all just gone through the war"
It became silence, but the chewing noises weren't. They hadn't spoken since Mark left that day.
"So... what were your dreams about?" Xuanyu asked while taking a bite of his bread. Jun finishes chewing the apple and explains "I get these dreams of... me and these children running for our lives... and a few adults. I got captured and the president said that I'm gonna be sent here... they said... they need me"
Xuanyu laughs "That sounds like a weird dream to have"
Jun didn't laugh with Xuanyu but had a little smile. "It was... I think we're from Earth" Jun finally said.
"Earth? What is that?" Xuanyu asked.
"I think they removed all of our memories from Earth... so that explains why we don't know anything about Earth yet" Jun explained "Earth is another planet... similar to Kepkury... but it has no brutes, only... humans... bad humans. They take control of lands and fight over land. Wars. Earth is our home though"
"I see... I understand what you're trying to say. You're saying that we were put here by our own kind from another planet?" Xuanyu asked.
"Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying" He answered. Xuanyu stared at Jun as Jun looked down at his bread. "Man... I'm hungry," Jun said "I wonder what Mark and Edison are up to" Jun grabbed a piece of bread and ate it.
Xuanyu yelled "Hey! That was mine! You only get the apple!"
MAINLAND, IZUZUNU
"I don't get it," Mikey said. "What do you mean you don't get it!? This is literally how you make sushi! I showed it to you four times!!" Chloe shouted.
At the kitchen in SukiSushi, Chloe is teaching Mikey and George how to make sushi.
She's gonna be gone for a while because she's about to go fish for more salmon since Edison left with Mark.
George sits on the comfortable chair and relaxes his body "Just give up, Chloe. You know we don't have a big brain"
Chloe smacks George on the head "Ouch"
"Aw, man... Why do Lilly and Evelyn have to be busy tomorrow?" She sighed. Evelyn and Lilly are gonna be out tomorrow, visiting Feiburg for more materials for Izuzunu.
"I should get the president in the kitchen huh?" Chloe asked. "Nah, he ain't gonna" George and Mikey laughed. "Shut up!" Chloe yelled
"I got information for Jun later on" George spoke out. "Is it about the Human City?" Mikey asked.
"Human City?" Chloe turned. "In the Empire of Usagi, they told us about the restricted area in the middle of Kepkury. It's east from here and we have to cross the ocean to get there" Mikey explained "There's only one kingdom over there and it is home to all humans... maybe we came from there but got thrown out by the king"
"Yeah... it's possible" George replied.
"It looks so cool though... on the paper that the king showed us... The human kingdom... looked so futuristic... it looked like Modern City from our old home. It also had a massive wall so intruders can't cross" Mikey said "I can't believe we got kicked out of there to live with the monsters... We're gonna tell Jun about it soon"
"Alright," Chloe says "What's the name of the human kingdom?"
"Novishi" Mikey answered.
The next day, Chloe is heading out to go fishing for salmon and tuna. "I have a cool game thing we can do" Jun smiled at Xuanyu while they were walking down the path. They spot Chloe "Where are you going?" Xuanyu asked.
"Oh hey Xuanyu! Long time no see! I am going fishing" She answered.
George and Mikey are taking care of the SukiSushi restaurant and making sure everything is clean. "Get the bamboo flower pot and put it here" George pointed at the front deck.
"Is Chloe really gonna leave us here by ourselves to take care of this Sushi restaurant?" Mikey asked. "Yeah, we might mess stuff up" George replied.
"I see" Xuanyu replied "Anyways, what were you saying? A game?"
"Yeah... a tournament" Jun answered. "Tournament? Where are people versus each other in the middle of the four massive walls?" Xuanyu asked.
"Yeah... we should host one. It'll be fun" Jun smiled. "I see... what should be the prize?" Xuanyu asked.
It took Jun a few seconds to reply to this question "100,000 krons! And! To be the leader of the LCI for a whole month!" Jun shouted out his answers. Xuanyu's eyes widened "What???"
"Yep" Jun smiled and pointed his sword at Xuanyu "It'll be the tournament to end this month with a banger!!"
