Chapter 7: Chapter 7: The Satchels Contents

Rooting around he could feel two smooth, rounded objects one apple sized and the other marble sized. Along with the two rounded objects there also felt like there were multiple leather pieces. Grabbing the bigger smooth sphere, he pulled it out. Looking at his full hand he found an extremely smooth and polished sphere that was an opaque milky white color.

[Summoning Crystal: This is a crystal given to all Denizens upon arrival into the collective. Using this crystal will establish a Citizen Summing portal here. Failure to use the Summoning Crystal in one week will make the Crystal inert and cause the holder to lose their chance at becoming a permanent Noble in the Collective. Would you like to proceed with setting up the summoning portal here? Time left: 06D: 22Hr: 54Min: 23Sec.]

[Yes/No]

Thinking 'No' Rosario, set the sphere aside and reached back into the satchel. Pulling out both the leather pieces and the marble sized sphere he set the marble sized sphere, that looked like a pearl, aside.

Placing his full attention on the pieces of leather he had pulled out he counted ten total. Studying them they were around the same size as a standard 8x11 paper back on earth. The leather pieces were all of varying colors most likely due to coming from different animals and journeying across their smoothed-out surface were what looked to be a type of Calligraphy. Running his hand over the glowing lines Rosario found that they were slightly indented into the leather as if the lines were pressed in or burned in. Each line slightly glowed with a gentle and warm golden light giving him the feeling as if he was standing letting the sun's rays shine on his face.

Sorting through the leather pieces he found that unlike what he first thought the carvings were not all the same color. Looking through the different parchments he found he had two deep Blood Red ones, just one of the original Gold he had seen, one with script that was a Banana Yellow color, two an Ocean Blue the color, three with Black lines that looked as if they were burned into the animal skin, and one with white script.

[Charged Summoning Vellum: A piece of vellum created from an animal and imbued with power to summon Citizens. The Rarer the animal whose hide is used, the better the imbuement that can be held and the rarer the citizen that will be summoned. Throw the imbued vellum into the Summoning portal and you will receive one citizen for each vellum. NOTE: Summoning Vellums are mainly dropped when a living animal or person is killed however they can be crafted. Summoning Vellums are intricately made items that require their crafter to have insight into Runes and Imbuing. There are 10 levels of Vellums represented by an array of the color of the script imbued into the Vellum.]

Nodding to himself Rosario carefully put the Charged Summoning Vellums and Summoning Crystal back into the leather satchel he got them from. Making sure the Satchel was securely closed as he figured these were his most costly items currently, he placed the satchel and its precious cargo into his necklace for safe keeping.

Turning his attention to the marble sized pearl left on the crate he grabbed it and held it in front of his eyes with his thumb and pointer fingers. It was a mix of dark purple and blues almost drowned out by a deep black. It almost looked like the colors were swirling together as if there was a galaxy contained on the pearl he was holding. Almost no light was reflected from the pearl causing it to almost look like a tiny black hole eating at the light bombarding it from all sides.

[Abyssal Pearl: A pearl used to awaken the abilities of any living being after being consumed.]

Rosario stared at the marble sized sphere in is hand for half a minute as he wrestled with his thoughts on how to ingest the pearl. With a sigh and a thought one of the waterskins appeared in his hand. Popping the pearl in his mouth he washed it down, whole, with a few swigs of water.

As the pearl traveled down his esophagus he felt it begin to melt from a solid to a warm liquid. Hitting his stomach, he could feel the warmth begin spreading out from his stomach as if it had entered his blood and was being transported across his body. Closing his eyes and concentrating on the warmth spreading across his body, his smile froze as he felt the warmth reach his kidneys and hit his adrenalin glands.

When the warm current came into contact with his adrenalin glands they began producing an overabundance of adrenalin. He felt euphoric as the adrenalin pumped through his veins making all the hairs on his body stand on end. As he kneeled in the sand with his eyes closed and senses overwhelmed, by the adrenalin being pumped through his body, he started noticing that the adrenalin was moving in almost a pattern like way. It seemed to circle to every part of his body then move back to his stomach area, repeatedly going out and coming back from all directions.

After about a half hour from when he swallowed the pearl is when he felt it, his stomach was definitely not feeling too well. It was beginning to gurgle, and he started feeling bloated and uncomfortable. After a few more minutes the discomfort moved from his stomach to his bowels, it was at this point he realized what was coming and he was definitely not prepared.

Frantically looking around for anything that could help him he ran towards the tree line yanking at his belt as he ran. Once he got in the tree line he couldn't wait any more, he shed his boots and trousers and leaned with his back against a tree looking like he was doing wall sits from gym class. Within seconds his body began expelling the most horrendous smelling toxins causing him to gag as he fought to keep it from touching his legs, as his thighs shook from holding him up.

It took about ten minutes for his body to expel everything, he was sweating and breathing heavily. His legs felt like jelly as he stumbled away from the tree line back onto the beach. All he could think about was cleaning himself as he got to the river's edge stripping his top off and running in. Taking soap from his necklace he scrubbed himself over and over shuddering at the lingering smell in his memories.

After scrubbing in the water and feeling much cleaner Rosario trudged his way back onto shore, retrieving a shirt he had used to dry himself not but thirty minutes earlier upon his first arrival in this world. After drying himself again he grabbed his discarded shirt and eye balled the tree line where his episode had just happened as he knew he'd have to go there to retrieve the pants, underwear, and boots that had been discarded. Holding his breathe he ran over grabbed his items and retreated back to the crate still in the sand. Clothing himself he felt much more refreshed and sat back down on the crate to see the new message he could tell he received.
