Chapter 55: CHAPTER 54: POISON ENHANCEMENTS
The siblings used the remainder of the days to properly stabilize their mental states and talk to each other. They talked about many miscellaneous topics and tactfully avoided anything related to the torture.
They spent another full day sleeping due to mental fatigue and properly recover from Teran's training. Exerting themselves like that had very strong consequences. And on the last day, they decided to train.
*BOOOM*
A large shockwave tore through the forest and caused a large amount of trees to bend but not uproot due to their durability.
Gideon and Victoria clashed and wisps of purple and green light flew about like lightning all over the place.
Victoria who was in her purple empress mode jumped back after the clash and punched with both of her fists.
"Dragon fist!" She yelled as two purple dragon heads emerged from her fists and flew towards Gideon who was using poison enhancement.
Green flames covered Gideon's daggers that were spinning at high speeds before he released two poison wheels that flew towards the two dragon heads.
*BOOM BOOM*
Two explosions rocked the center of the two, momentarily causing them to loose sight of one another.
Victoria who was trying to look through the explosion suddenly felt her neck tingle and without hesitation tilted her head forward and a black dagger passed over her.
Continuing the movement, Victoria performed a Webster flip while covering the back of her foot with aquafire, a kick flew towards Gideon's chin.
Gideon swiftly did a backflip and dodged the attack before landing gracefully. But the moment he looked up, Victoria was already a few meters in front of him.
At that moment, Gideon's hands blurred and in less than a second, a net of dagger slashes surrounded Victoria completely.
Victoria saw that she couldn't retreat at all as all her paths were blocked. So, she decided to trust the defense provided by her armour and pressed on.
*CLANG CLANG CLANG*
The numerous slashes impacted her armour and very few actually got through to her, but she knew that she didn't have much time before she became paralyzed, so the instant she reached Gideon's front, she opened her palms and drew a large circle which then turned into a large magic circle containing the runes she learned before.
Gideon's pupils constricted as even though she was executing a lot of movements, she was was actually moving very quickly, too quick for him to dodge. And so without hesitation, he unleashed his poison avatar and the poison flames around his daggers surged causing the temperature to rise drastically.
Gideon thrusted forward with his daggers while Victoria pushed both of her palms which in addition to the magic circle also had a coiling dragon wrapped around each of them.
They clashed, and for a brief moment, nothing happened, and then.
*BOOOOOOM!!!*
A massive dome of of purple and green rapidly expanded outwards before eventually becoming a huge mushroom cloud. The shockwave alone managed to uproot the nearly indestructible trees and the blast itself erased virtually everything in a 5 kilometer radius.
Eventually, the explosion cleared leaving scorched land with occasional flashes of green and purple around the area, but surprisingly, despite the blast, the crater was only around 20 meters deep.
"Haa~ Haa~" Victoria panted as she laid on her back, her armour was gone and there were a few cuts on her body. She was unable to move a muscle.
Gideon sat right next to her and there were some beads of sweat on his forehead and he was a bit pale, but that was all.
"It's crazy that you're this strong when you're only ten years old." Gideon said with genuine shock. She was ten years younger than him, but she could still cause such a terrifying amount of damage.
"But... The gap between us... Is still large." Victoria said in between breaths and Gideon shook his head.
"Not really, I'm only one rank ahead of you, and that's because I started training before you, otherwise, our strength really wouldn't be too different." Gideon said honestly, he actually felt that she would stronger than him if they were at the same rank.
"Also, I have a question." Victoria said as she got enough strength to sit up.
"Go for it." Gideon accepted as he watched a bright green light cover the destroyed area which started to revert to its previous state,. thanks to the world tree.
"Why do you limit your poison enhancement?" Upon hearing her question, Gideon's eyes furrowed.
"What do you mean?" Gideon asked and Victoria explained.
"If I'm not wrong, poison mages who specialize in different poisons can give themselves an enhancement based on that poison. But you only enhance yourself using your default poison." Upon hearing her explanation, Gideon's eyes widened and he facepalmed so hard he created a small shockwave.
"Fuck, I'm such an idiot!" He shouted before immediately quickly going over to Victoria and kissing her forehead before standing up and creating some distance.
Victoria observed him with a smile as she was happy about him getting stronger.
'I'm able to enhance my daggers with all sorts poisons to get different effects, but that only for inflicting damage, if I enhance my body doing the same thing, the results should be the opposite since I'm using the in my body.' At this moment, Gideon was glad that he had Victoria while feeling like a retard for not figuring this out sooner.
He activated poison aura, but this time, he imbued it first with paralysis poison, and the result was obvious.
Gideon's body blurred and he appeared a few tens of meters away and the back, before repeating the action a few dozen times in a few seconds.
'Paralytic poison renders my opponents immobile, but it increases my movement speed drastically.' Gideon thought as a small smile crept unto his face.
he then cancelled the paralytic poison and replaced it with camouflaged poison and immediately, he became invisible. But it wasn't the same as when he simple covered himself with the camouflaged poison as this time, it served the same purpose of his stealth based skills without him actually activating them, and if he did activate them, his stealth would skyrocket.
He then tried out corrosive poison and found out that it greatly increased his defense, so him using it in tandem with his poison barrier and avatar would just make him a zooming tank.
The anti-regeneration poison was next and it actually improved his ability to heal by a large margin.
Then he tried the torture poison which reduced the amount of pain he felt. But Gideon wasn't sure on how to feel about this one as it could cause him to underestimate the seriousness of a wound.
'I could be good when I'm out of battle I guess.' He thought with a shrug before moving over to the weakening poison, and surpassing his expectations, not only did it reduce his stamina consumption, it also reduced his astral energy consumption which confused him a lot since he was using energy to reduce energy consumption, but he decided to let it be.
Finally, he activated all the different poisons and his aura surged and the wind compressed and blew out on all directions.
'More strength never hurt anyone.' Gideon thought with glee as even though he should've done this years ago, it was still a huge boost in power.
