Chapter 9: The Auction(2)

Trot was completely stunned with the sudden turn of events.

Ravien was still calm as ever. He knew someone who would be occupying a VIP room would not be some nobody.

He still didn't showed any expression on his face. For him these kinds of things were worth below his attention.

For him no matter who was in the room it didn't mattered to him. He just eyed Trot to sit down.

Although unwilling Trot couldn't do anything. His protector was defeated even before any actual confrontation and Ravien didn't intervened.

With Trot backing down no one raised the bid for the sword any further. Amden's bid became the final one and he soon received the sword in his VIP room.

The more the sword came near to Amden the more he felt excitement coming from the cube. Amden also was no less excited and curious. He could only wait for the auction to end so that he could check the reason behind such excitement.

For now he stored the sword in his storage ring and then only the vibrations in the cube stopped.

And for the little episode with the Wilson he didn't cared.

The auction resumed and new items were brought upon the stage.

Finally it was time for the last item.

The lady on stage spoke, "There is no suspense about the last item. It is the piece of land in north of the city that we have already advertised. The starting bid is four hundred D Rank mana stones."

Ravien then shifted in his position. This piece of land was what he was going after. The carters were an elite family based in Cablina city. It was at most few hours drive from Azailia town and with this piece of land they could get a chance to strengthen themselves in Azailia city.

For the elite families clearing and occupying a land was a matter of snap of their fingers. But they couldn't do so as it would appear to be provoking the Vantistart in the Azailia city. But getting a land in the auction could be called as child's whine who loved to spend money and with time they would gradually pile up their influence getting a proper stronghold.

The land was important because it was far enough to be out of the influence of Vantistart family but close enough to build up power in the Azailia town.

Many among the crowd had many different thoughts but one thing that was common was the interest in the land.

Intense bidding started for the land and the price reached 450 D Rank mana stones. Most people generally raised bids in 5 and 10.

Ravien then spoke, "Five hundred."

Hearing this everyone was stunned at the steep increase in the bid but those who knew that Carters heir was in the room were not much surprised.

Ravien was convinced that the land would belong to him. He had his usual arrogant expression on his face.

Amden's voice then echoed, "Six hundred."

A driect raise of one hundred. Everyone in the auction house was stunned.

Ravien's face turned ugly. He was livid at someone daring to defy him.

In his anger he stood up and walked to the balcony of his room and gazed towards Amden's room.

Ravien spoke "Six hundred ten" and in his arrogant voice announced "I am Ravien Carter successor to carter family. Leave the bid."

Unline Trot Wilson who had at least used polite words and subtle use of his identity to threaten, Ravien didn't even pretended. It was direct threat to the person in VIP room.

The moment Ravien issued his threat a murmur spread across the auction hall. The Carters were not something Wilsons could compare. Even if someone had guts to go against Wilson, to stand up to Carters was an entirely different matter.

Ravien flashed a content smile. This was what he expected. His name was enough to deter people.

Inside the Amden's private room, Cilia's face turned frosty. She was about to make a move but Amden stopped her.

Ravien was sure that Amden had given up.

No one would dare to oppose Carters.

Amden finally spoke, "Six hundred fiffty."

Ravien smiling faced disappeared and an intense rage took over him. This was a blatant insult in Carters face.

He turned around corner and nodded to his guard.

The same of Trot's action took a repeat.

Ravien's personal guard directed his pressure and killing intent to Amden's room. He was in middle of B Rank, much stronger than Trot's guard.

Ravien was going to make that bastard pay a price. He knew this would disturb their relationship with Moonfox Consortium but as long as he did not killed in the auction house, Moonfox Consortium wouldn't draw this matter to great length.

And for the person in the opposite room he didn't care. Even if the person had some background, he was the heir to Carters. Nothing could compare to him.

It was at the moment when the pressure was about to reach Amden's room when there was a sudden flash of sword light.

A simultaneous scream "Stop" accompanied the sword light but it was too late. The head of Ravien's guard dropped down.

Cilia was found standing at Amden's balcony.

At the same moment a middle aged man appeared beside the dead body of the guard.

He was the protector of the Moonfox auction house in the city. His eyes were glaring daggers at Cilia who was wearing a veil. His work was to maintain order in the hall but he had failed miserably.

He let Ravien do as he pleased because he didn't wanted to ofend the Carters heir.

He thought he could use this chance to build a personal relationship with him.

But now the exact opposite of his expectation happened. The personal guard of Ravien was killed infront of him. This was an utter failure on the part of the protector of the auction house.

Although the matter of maintaining the order in auction could not be now rectified he could still get into good grace of Carter heir. And the only method for it was to take down the girl who stood in the balcony and punish the boy who was bidding against Ravien Carter.
