Chapter 4: Ki
After a long conversation in which Izuku promised to stop his night's escapades to keep 'his territory' safe, they arrived home. Izuku and Hisashi immediately went into the Dojo.
"I forgot to ask, what did you register your quirk as? What can it do?" (Hisashi)
"Nonya" (Izuku)
"Nonya what?" (Hisashi)
"Nonya business" (Izuku)
"…" (Hisashi)
"I will not tell you it's abilities, it's not that I don't trust you but if you're asked by someone with a truth quirk, you will be able to say that you know nothing and not be fined. I'm still safe, since I'm a kid, they will just think of it as a child's whim. In the worst case they will pay even more attention to me. I just need to stay lowkey for now." (Izuku)
'A kid that doesn't want to be a hero, doesn't talk about his quirk and bites people to death, said that he will be lowkey' (Hisashi)
"Whatever, you told us, that you saw your name inside the doctor's notebook. Did you see anything in particular?" (Hisashi)
"Yeah, Heir of the Hibari Clan" (Izuku)
"I guess you want to know more about it then" (Hisashi)
"That's right" (Izuku)
"The Hibari clan is a Clan that started before the Pre-quirk era and before even China's unification. The Clan started as an assassin's clan. Our ancestors use to be priest and priestess that would stay hidden in their hidden village. They mastered a dance, a special kind of dance that allowed them to have enhanced senses and a quicker reaction's time. The dances also allowed to increase the Clan member's strength making them be feared by others.
It was before our ancestor Kyoukai, wiped out the clan till there were only 2 peoples left. She wiped out the clan because of its inhumane way of choosing the priest or priestess that would rule the generation. This was making brothers, friends, and parents kill each other's until only one was left alive. Kyoukai revolutionized our Clan's Dance allowing us to break the soul taboo territory without dying" (Hisashi)
"Soul taboo territory?" (Izuku)
"The dance that our clan used to practiced allowed them to fight stronger opponent and beat them, but it had a major side effect. The deeper you dive in the dance, the more risk there are of you losing yourself and dying. The diving limit was called the soul taboo territory, if you dived deeper than this limit you were guaranteed to die. Kyoukai understood that, to dive deeper and stay alive, we had to use our worldly attachments to find the way back. Kyoukai's descendants became the main family, the others slowly disappeared and now there is only the 2 of us, who are Kyoukai's descendant." (Hisashi)
"Why our surname is Midoriya then?" (Izuku)
"Each member of our family has 2 names. Im Hisashi Midoriya but a Clan member would call me Hibari Isaya" (Hisashi)
"What's my second name then?" (Izuku)
"You don't have one yet, only fighters have a name. If you are as talented as I think you are, you will probably earn it before we spar." (Hisashi)
"Okay" (Izuku)
"All of our Clan members were genius at fighting and liked it. When our clan talks about talented, it's really talented people not some people slightly stronger than a normal person would be. Our second Clan's genius was part of a mafia gang. His name was Uzhio Makino, he didn't do anything particular except discovering a particular way for our clansmen to use their KI. He didn't get to use it though, he fought with his dying flame and his tonfas." (Hisashi)
"What's a dying flame?" (Izuku)
"Why are you so polite today?" (Hisashi)
"Everything is fine, in the end I will just bite you to your death" (Izuku)
"…" (Hisashi)
"The dying flame was the power system of another era. It used innate desires to fuel flames that you could use to fight by covering your weapon with them or using boxes." (Hisashi)
"Boxes you're kidding me old man, this isn't Metal Gear" (Izuku)
"No but for some Bullshit reason they could store weapons, even living beings in the tiny boxes" (Hisashi)
"What's so special with that Uzhio Makino guy besides the fact that he was strong" (Izuku)
"Just like you he fought with Tonfas." (Hisashi)
"That's all?" (Izuku)
"Yeah" (Hisashi)
"Now let's fight, I will teach you your place omnivore." (Izuku)
"No, first I want you to not use your Ki and see what's your Ki type." (Hisashi)
"What are the Ki types and what can I do with Ki?" (Izuku)
"The Ki types are, Sky, Storm, Rain, Sun, Lightning, Mist and Cloud Ki. With them you can enhance your body. Just like Haki in One Piece. Ki can only be used inside of your body. No Ki type is superior to another, they all have their own strengths. My Ki type is Rain Ki, it means I have good the ability to weaken what I touch, and easily break through my opponent's defenses. It also means that I have a calm personality like a gentle rain cleaning the blood away but I can also strike like hail." (Hisashi)
"Can you tell me what my Ki type is?" (Izuku)
Hisashi then walked closer to Izuku, put his hand on Izuku's abdomen. He then closed his eyes and tried to feel Izuku's Ki through his own. What he felt left him shocked.
'This amount of Ki its not normal, how can it fit in such a young and tiny body. I said he was talented, I was wrong. He is genius among geniuses. There is so much Ki, he could fight for a day and not exhaust all of it. His Ki type is weird.' (Hisashi)
"You have the purest cloud Ki I have ever felt, but your cloud Ki is not normal, it has Sun property. The weirdest thing is that your personality is closest to a storm and cloud than cloud and sun. Your Ki type allows you to increase your physical prowess, increase your attack range, boost your detection abilities and also some healing capabilities. The strength of this ability depends on the amount of Ki you use in them. By the way its impossible to use your Ki on your quirk but you can use the 2 at the same time. For example a Sun Ki user can heal himself while using his quirk to attack. Everyone possess Ki but not everyone can use it. My explanations are over." (Hisashi)
"Time for you to learn your place" (Izuku)
"First I want you to learn and use the first part of our Clan Priest dance, then we will fight. I want you to learn your real name" (Hisashi)
Hisashi then told Izuku the breathing sequences and mental and physical states to adopt for the technique. He had to stay flow smooth like a calm breeze but still punch with gale force. His attacks must be successive and hit nonstop like a tornado. It was the new Priest Dance, the Wind God Dance.
"Now just stay still, and dive deeper and deeper. Don't worry, since it's not the full Dance and it's only the breathing sequences, you will not die. When you reached the deepest, you will hear your name." (Hisashi)
Izuku closed his eyes and started breathing like his father told him to. He felt like he was surrounded by darkness, the deeper he got, the darker it felt. When he reached a certain depth, the darkness disappeared and was substituted with a Violet flame, a flame that was a hundred times bigger than him. He was inside the flame. The flame's core was purple, and the rest of the flame had a very pale tone of violet, making it one of the most light-colored flames he had ever seen. He didn't feel any heat but he felt that this flame could devour everything in existence. He could also see a light yellow ring was present around the giant flame. It was at this moment he heard a soft whisper.
'Wake up Hibari ….'
Hisashi looked at his son, he knew his son was destined for greatness and that he needed to teach him everything he knew before he passes away. He saw Izuku's lips slowly forming a smirk, then Izuku's eyes opened and his usually dark black eyes now had a slight purplish glint. Hisashi smiled, he was hungry for a fight, and his son was the best opponent he could hope for.
"I Hibari Isaya, want a duel with you, if you accept disclose your name that means you agree to fight an honorable battle." (Hisashi/Isaya)
Izuku smirked deepened.
"I would not be myself if I back down from a fight, I will fight you or my name is not Hibari Kyoya." (Kyoya)
