Chapter 2: Early Bird
"Ahh... what am I doing here this early in the morning" I mumbled as I hesitantly walked inside our campus. It was 6 am and I'm the only student here, the campus looked so empty. Before heading to my room I decided to walk around for a bit, when I passed by the large mango tree, the wind blew softly which slightly messed up my hair. I looked down at my watch and it was already 6:15, so I decided to finally go into my room. I passed by the rooms on the first two floors and they were still empty, the sound of my footsteps was all that I could hear.
"301, 302... ahh 303", I was about to open the door when I noticed something inside through the window. I couldn't see it properly but it looked like a person? I can see a white dress and long black hair, but no limbs. Horrified, I immediately withdrew from the door, I breathed in a couple of times and peeked at the window again, it's still there. I immediately looked away and distanced myself, but perhaps because I was too scared, I couldn't run away. I stood still in front of our room with my back facing the door, I was stiff and I couldn't even utter a word.
A couple of minutes have passed and I hear footsteps from the staircase, I turned my head towards the direction and saw my classmate. He stopped in front of me and asked "aren't you coming in? why are you standing out here?" I gulped and answered while stuttering "I s-saw something in there". He peeked in the mirror and said "there's nothing there", he opened the door and gestured me to come in, which I hesitatingly did. "There's nothing here" he repeated when he sat on his chair. "I saw it, it was standing over there, it has long black hair and a white dress" I pointed to a corner of the room. He remained quiet for a moment and looked back and forth from the window and the spot that I pointed to. "maybe the reflection of the sunlight just made you see things".
I sat on my chair while staring at the corner and said, "I do hope so".
