Chapter 1: Preface
The Piers were a well known Merchant family that dealt slaves. They bought them and trained them in different skills but were most noted for selling sex slaves, maids, and servants. This trade was passed down the family for generations and currently the family head is Walter Piers and his Head wife Joan Grace from the Grace family a noble family known to be close with the royal family due to the family head being the current rulers childhood friend. Joan holds great power but only uses it when her husband is wronging her. The two got married when Walter was twenty and Joan was sixteen. Joan is currently forty seven and Walter is fifty one.
In these times it's normal for a man of wealth to have a wife and multiple concubines. Take the Grace family head he has his Head wife and six concubines and Walter the family head of the Piers has his wife and two concubines. Due to the great number of women family's tend to grow big. In the Grace family they have twenty one children. With Joan being the only child of the head wife but because her mother was a shrewd woman she was able to hold favor in the family as she grew up so she was able to marry well without suffering even after marriage.
In the Pier family they have seven children Joan has two children Thomas and Mabel both of which hold the most power out of the seven children. Thomas is known to be cruel to his slaves and servants for pure entertainment. He is the most feared by the people and he is the eldest of the seven at the age of thirty with a wife three concubines and five children of his own. Mabel is the second eldest of the seven and already wedded with her own husband and not currently living in the Pier household, but due to her background her mother was sure to find a wimp of a husband because she wanted to be able to run the household without issue and conflict with her husband. Known to be bold and really intelligent she never has issue getting what she wants. She is currently twenty eight.
Now we have the children of the two concubines our first concubine is called Beatrice and we was picked into the family after Joan had Mabel by seducing Walter during one of his nightly strolls and was quickly pregnant she secured her position in the family by giving birth to a son (she was seventeen at the time), who was named Archibald and the second born son of the family. Archibald is known as a sly tonged guy and can get what he wants with just a few words. because of which people try to be careful around him but always fall for his traps. He is currently twenty eight only ten months older then Mabel.
Beatrice knowing that having one child only secured her spot but she needed more to make it impossible for her to be kicked out the family unless she did something terrible she quickly fell pregnant again with her second child Amelia the second born daughter of the family. Amelia is very popular with the men while still being careful to not be alone with them so as to avoid any scandal's. Her favorite pass time is going around and seducing noble men and pretending to want to be with them just so they can buy things for her. Known for her curvy body and sexy looks, they say she takes after her mother when they see her for her mother was known as such in her youth. That's how people think she got with Walter in the past. She is currently twenty seven.
Beatrice raised her two children for two years when she surprisingly fell pregnant again she then gave birth to twin boys Richard and Roger. With a hard pregnancy and nearly dying during birth she became infertile after they boys. It was said that she was poisoned by Joan because she was giving birth to to many children and had too much favor from Walter. Richard and Roger handsome boys grew to love teaming up on young girls and flirting with said girl until the girl fainted from the embarrassment of it even after marrying they like to get together and mess with young girls without actually touching them. Both men are currently twenty five.
The next concubine to join and last to ever enter the Pier household is Alice. She used to be Walters maid and sometimes helped out Joan from time to time. Then at the age of nineteen she found her self being forced into bed by Walter while he was drunk after coming home from a banquet at the Grace household. She woke up the next morning by being dragged out the bed by guards and held on the floor naked while being questioned as to why she was in his bed. As she pleaded with him to spare her life and tell him what happened she fainted. During the time she was passed out she was allowed to keep her position and continue working. As time passed her belly grew and she missed her periods. After telling the other maids that she worked with they told Walter and he quickly had her checked by a doctor. Once it was found that she was pregnant she was brought into the family as a concubine six months later she gave birth to Alaric the fifth and last child of the Pier family. Due to the way his mother gave birth to him and the way she was raised he had no favor from his father and struggled growing up from bullying from his siblings. He still got the food he was supposed to eat and went to classes like his siblings. But his treatment was different things his siblings got praised for he was told to do something different. He soon became close with other unfavored children from other family's and went out to party to help take his mind off of everything. He is currently twenty.
This story follows Alaric as he struggles in life with what he was given from birth till now.
