Chapter 10: Suanggi Ritual (3)
The day is sunny, the bird is chirping happily as Rudy walks down the alley with a smile on his face walking towards the bus stop, last night when he tried to talk to 'Xaraks', everything went smoothly, His plan is working!
Rudy asks that spirit that refers itself to Xaraks to give him all his power and Rudy will kill and eat all the annoying people in his life trying to convince Xaraks that he's actually a psychopath.
This plan came to Rudy last night, he knows that when a mark appeared in the back, not in front of the body, the spirit tends to be evil, So he came out with a plan to trick this stupid but strong spirit.
Thanks to that genius plan, Rudy made a contract with Xaraks and officially becoming a Seeker!
Although the contract process is harder to complete in Rudy's opinion.
>Last night,
After Xaraks accepted Rudy, It immediately requires Rudy to complete a trial before making a contract with Xaraks.
The trial is unpleasant, Rudy's conscious transform into his own apartment,
Rudy looks out of the window to only see the moon is red, While Rudy is still in confusion about the trial suddenly the door is opened forcefully revealing all his neighbors in a crazed state, killing each other.
When the neighbors notice Rudy, they all attack Rudy in an instant.
Rudy can only take a kitchen knife and fight them all, killing the neighbors with a smile on his face trying his best to fool Xaraks.
With his Seeker physique, Rudy easily dealt with the neighbors who is a normal human.
After killing all the neighbors, there is a footstep coming from the stairs leading upwards,
Rudy glanced at the stairs and widened his eyes.
Rudy screamed inside his head, 'I can't break my character, I can't break my character'
The person that comes down from the stairs is none other than Lestari and his father, Their clothes are stained with blood, and on their hands are a bloody butcher knife.
"Rudy, come to sister, No need to be afraid," said Lestari with a creepy look and crazed eyes.
Without a second longer, Rudy dash towards Lestari and his father killing them swiftly by slashing both of their necks still trying to maintain the smile on his face although beads of cold sweat started to drip from his forehead.
Xaraks then appear in front of Rudy,
Looking at Xaraks, Rudy sigh in relief thinking that the trial is over but the words that Xaraks said make his hopeful thinking crumble in an instant.
Xaraks smile with its bulging eyes and said, "Now, eat her"
Rudy was stunned, 'WHAAATT?!!', he screamed inside his head.
Rudy slowly kneel in front of Lestari, with his trembling hand, Rudy chop Lestari's hand and brought them closer to his mouth.
After convincing himself that it's not real, Rudy takes a deep breath and bites Lestari's arm, and started eating it.
Looking at Rudy, Xaraks laugh loudly, "HAHAHAHA!!"
Throughout the incident, Rudy keeps repeating 'It's not real' inside his head until the last remains enter his mouth and Xaraks acknowledge Rudy and form a contract.
>Back to the present
Rudy shakes his head not wanting to remember last night incident,
Rudy arrives at the forty-eight national highschool, He was greeted by a black sedan that stops smoothly in front of him.
Rudy immediately recognizes the plate number, it was Lucia.
Lucia walks out of the back of her black sedan and waves her hand, "Morning Rudy!"
Rudy glance faintly in Lucia's direction and stunned a bit but he immediately turns back to a stoic expression and replies, "Morning Lucia",
Today Lucia wears stunning white running shorts, a white shirt that hugged her body tightly, a matching white running shoes that make her outfit looks perfect in addition to her hair tied into a ponytail exposing her white beautiful neck.
"You look great today" compliment Lucia with a charming smile.
Rudy looks down at his outfit and sigh, tattered shoes, faded black shirt, and simple training pants, "If you're trying to mock me then just say it, no need to be sarcastic"
"Well, tomorrow is Saturday, let's go shopping!!" said Lucia enthusiastically while raising her fist upwards.
Rudy seems to think for a bit and replied, "Why not" smiling faintly.
Rudy and Lucia walk side by side as they enter the school, Erick is nowhere to be seen but judging by his habit, He's probably overslept.
"Are you really going to the same place as me? I mean the lightning area" Ask Rudy.
"Of course I will! I have to make sure you don't get bullied when you do your ritual right?" Lucia wink at Rudy playfully
Actually, Rudy understands that his friendship with Lucia is an additional burden for him to survive in school, Lucia is the prima donna in his school, every boy will stare at him with a fierce glare every time he walks together with her just like now.
But Rudy thought, 'What's the difference? even if I'm not friends with her, the entire school will still don't want me to be here. Who can blame them? the best highschool in Jakarta City where every rich kid gather, and there's me, an orphan who lives in the suburb'
After a while, Rudy and Lucia meet up with Erick.
The trio hears an announcement stating that the student will have to gather on the field in twenty minutes.
Now the sun is at its peak, the clock show 12 pm, The student of forty-eight national high school start to scatter from all around the school to the field where the same old-aged NSSB agents are waiting.
Rudy rush towards the cafeteria to get a bottle of water when he overheard a chat between other students that is hurriedly eating their food.
"Bro, be fast, why are you eating like a slowpoke. You will die when you enter a region like that" said an athletic guy with spiky black hair.
"Duh, I don't want to be a seeker. How beautiful it will be if I can live peacefully by not becoming a Seeker" replied a chubby guy with squirrel cheeks that is full of food.
"What?? how could you not be excited about this? I've been waiting for this moment my whole life!" said the athletic guy while clenching his fists, then he continued "I already can't wait to become a Seeker and starts to train, my brother works in NSSB, He said there'll be a training program for the teenage Seeker like us after we did the Suanggi Ritual"
Rudy only stands there try not to be noticed while he try to keep following their chat when suddenly a footstep getting closer from his back, and
"BOO!!"
Rudy spills his water all around his shirt and wets the floor, He looked speechlessly at Erick and said, "Really dude? You just really have to do that?"
"Come on, We need to go to the field" replied Erick while dragging Rudy out of the cafeteria.
The field is already packed with students lining up based on their destination, from left to right it is Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, and Light.
Rudy bid Errick goodbye hurriedly and run towards the lightning line but he's late for five seconds and stopped by the NSSB agents.
"Pardon my late introduction, my name is Genta, I will be the instructor of forty-eight national highschool in training you, new Seekers. With that out of the way, we will depart right now" Genta glances towards the back with his fierce glare and said, "Those who are late will receive punishment," he signaled towards the NSSB agents in black suits.
The NSSB agents walk towards fifteen students that are late including Rudy and Erick, each student will have one agent in front of them.
With a wave of Genta, the agents get into their fighting stance.
Different kinds of elements radiate from their fists signing the agents at least High Bintara rank, the air started to vibrate from the pressure emitted by the agents.
High Bintara rank is where the Seeker can access the spirit's elemental attributes, enhancing their power fivefold.
The late students started to sweat a little, some even peed themselves.
The pressure is so much making all of the late students kneel on the ground, except for Rudy.
Rudy gritted his teeth to endure the pressure, with his newly acquired power from Xaraks he's stronger than before but the pressure is too much making him also fall on his knees.
After what feels like an eternity, the agents punched their respective students.
Rudy was screaming inside his head, 'What the fuck? Did they actually gonna kill the students again?'
But when the fist nearing Rudy's stomach, the pressure emitted by the agents, and the elements vanished briefly to lessen the impact. If it's not for Rudy's enhanced senses, he might even miss that.
Rudy sigh in relief, 'At least they're not tr...'
BAM!!
The fist landed squarely on Rudy's stomach, the punch felt heavy that caught Rudy by surprise.
Rudy crouch on the ground holding his stomach, he tried to look at the other students but to his surprise, they're all fainted.
'So this is the difference between me a Tama rank Seeker, and a High Bintara rank Seeker. It's too much' Rudy thought inwardly while groaning in pain.
The agent in front of Rudy was shocked as well, 'What the? how did this kid withstand that much pressure and a punch from me?! I am High Bintara level three rank!'
Just as the agent contemplating himself, five transport aircraft landed from the sky, it is white in color that has a metallic touch on the sides, it looks like a fat aircraft from the front because of its purpose.
Genta then claps his hands, "That's enough, bring them towards the Aeroplane. Other students follow the NSSB agents"
The students then follow the agents as guided while Rudy and the other late students are carried by the agents toward one of the Aeroplane.
Inside the plane is pretty good, but for Rudy, it is ten times better than his small apartment.
There is a pantry that showcases different kinds of food, seats for the students that are made of monster leather and lastly, Rudy is mesmerized by the bubble glass in the middle that views Jakarta City from the plane.
Rudy currently is lying on the clinic of the plane, his stomach is still hurting when suddenly
BAM!
The door slammed open as Lucia walks in with a worried look, "Rudy are you okay? You idiot, How can you be late when they literally give twenty minutes to be there"
Rudy can only smile wryly and said, "I eavesdrop on someone and forgot the time"
Hearing this Lucia whack Rudy on the head grumpily.
"Ouch! What's that for?" Rudy rebutted.
Lucia only replies with a humph and said, "By the way, How can you withstand that punch? That is a punch from a High Bintara rank!"
Rudy started to brainstorming on how to answer Lucia's question and he decided to make an excuse, "The agent go easy on me, that's why I can withstand it"
'Well it's partly true' Rudy thought.
"Either way, you have a solid body then! Let me see" replied Lucia while she started to reach Rudy's shirt to see his stomach.
Rudy smack Lucia's hand, "Don't touch me! Help! Someone is raping me!"
Hearing this, Lucia angrily punches Rudy on the stomach that makes Rudy groan in pain, and left him.
After what feels like three hours, Rudy's plane arrives at its destination.
Rudy is pretty much healed in the clinic.
The lightning area where Rudy will conduct the Suanggi Ritual is called, 'Sorrow Lightning Peaks'.
It is a mountain that is always raining, lightning occasionally struck down from the clouds. Sorrow Lightning Peaks gets its name because the place is always raining as if the sky is always crying while the lightning represents the depth of the sorrow.
The students already change into their respective suits.
Genta walks out of the plane and nods in satisfaction seeing the students already lined up neatly.
Who wouldn't? when the students know that the punishment is punched by a High Bintara rank, they lined neatly not because they're an obedient student, they're lining neatly for their lives!
Genta clears his throat and said loudly, "This will be the place we will be conducting the Ritual, sit down and meditate. If you're asking why we're not going deeper into the mountains, it's because the lightning will definitely bring casualties. So we will stay in the outer area of the mountain"
Hearing the instructions, the students started to sit on the ground and go into their meditation state.
The rain and lightning should have made it harder for the students to enter their meditation state but with the help of their suit, they can easily enter meditation state.
Rudy is sitting on the right back of the line after giving up finding Lucia that is nowhere to be seen.
He looks calm but on the contrary, he is talking with Xaraks inside his consciousness panicky.
'Xaraks, Will it be okay if another spirit enters me?' asked Rudy hurriedly.
Xaraks replied with its astral voice, 'I can eat any spirit that enters your consciousness'
Hearing this Rudy started to calm down and focus on his meditation.
Once the user enters their consciousness, they need to open the door to their consciousness to tell the surrounding spirit that the user is searching for a spirit to assimilate with.
Rudy do just that,
He opens the door towards his consciousness wide and in a flash, a spirit enters his and appears inside his consciousness.
Inside Rudy's conscious,
Rudy opens his eyes, in front of him stands a ghostly spirit.
The spirit is grey colored with a crack of dark line all over its body, it is the same height as Rudy, it has no legs but it has a sharp claw on its hand with lightning running through it occasionally, the weird part is that the spirit's head is upside down.
"Human, you should be honored to assimilate with me, I am Lightning Ghost, a normal rank spirit. Now, cut your arms, if you can then I will make a contract with you" said the spirit with its smug expression.
Hearing this, Rudy wanted to laugh.
'HAHAHA, I went through hell last night, and this little spirit thinks that he is high and mighty just because he wanted me to cut my own arm' Rudy thought inwardly trying to force down his laughter.
Rudy looks toward the Lightning Ghost in the eye with his evil smile,
The Lightning Ghost was confused, when suddenly,
"Xaraks eat this little spirit!"
Hearing the name, Lightning Ghost has chills on his back. A huge pressure comes down on him, red aura started to fill the dark empty place.
It looks back and saw golden bulging eyes towering over his little body.
"Wait? Xaraks? Do you me-" before Lightning Ghost can finish its words, Xaraks grips it tightly and swallow it whole.
