Chapter 2: Stage one of ouroboros

[Error] Function: Hero-spawn failure(EC505)

I heard, well, 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 rustling of sand. The movement was getting closer, and closer, until they were right next to me. I tried to open my eyes to see what it was, but I couldn't see. I tried to listen with my ears, but I could not hear. After being trapped in my mind for ages, this felt scary. I was awake, but could not move. I felt my body moving on its own, from a shape I couldn't understand to a human body.

It made me stop to think what happened to me, but I could not remember. It seemed I was torn to bits from the shape I was before. Suddenly I could see again, but I could see everywhere. I was sure my mind would snap, it's too much information for someone to handle. But I was fine, nothing happened and I could see.

The rustling ran away as my body moved again, it appeared to simply be a wild fox. The fox stopped for a second to look back at me, and then I was filled with hunger. I was starving, and I wasn't able to notice it earlier. I stood up, or really floated up, and chased it. My mind stopped working from the hunger, and my body went on auto.

Next thing I knew was a dead fox corpse brutally dismantled in front of me, and the taste of raw meat. Just like with sight, the taste was everywhere. It made me start questioning if I was still human. I didn't want to think about it, so I just continued eating. The taste was good, unrealistically good. It felt like a home cooked meal, yet it wasn't cooked.

I finished the fox. I ate everything, the bones included. I was still hungry, so I started eating the ash below me. It tasted like sugar, so sweet and addicting. I couldn't stop eating, I was just so hungry. I kept eating, then I left the ash to eat the sun light. I ate everything that touched me, until I wasn't hungry.

When I finished eating I took a look around. It seemed like I was in a burnt down forest, but that couldn't be right since there were no ash monsters feeding on the remains. It was such a weird place. There was ash for what seemed like miles, but off in the distance there were buildings. They seemed familiar, like your parents house you grew up and moved out of. I started going towards them, until pain appeared and started getting worse the closer I got.

I had to back off, the pain was too powerful. The buildings were off limits by some unknown force, a force that did not want me near them. I wanted to go to them, something in me wanted to go back. I decided to try some other time to get there.

I noticed a sound, sound of rushing water. I wanted the water, thirst drove me to find it. I felt like a mindless drone led by instincts and feelings, it made me question my humanity once again. Even though I had no memories of before I woke up, I was wondering if I was really human. My body felt human, but didn't act human in the slightest.
