Chapter 2: A Job
I greeted the girl named emerald, when she came back in with a second girl I assume is her boss.
"Welcome back! Did you come here to buy this time or take up my delicious offer?"
"He really is how you described him..."
The new girl had came in with some serious action.
"Look I am here to offer you a job. Do you want it?"
"Hmph, so let me get this straight...I killed your Flunkie and harassed your other Flunkie. Then you offer me a job?"
Emerald whispered to her boss, I amplified the her voice with a motion to my ear. Her voice suddenly echoed into my ears.
"*Cinder, I thought we were gonna grabbed the book left to him? He killed Mercury!*"
book? My family did have a a fucking old as shit book that came from my grandfather.
"Oh those legs belong to mercury? isn't that the son of a dead man? I hear his family was all killed in a raging fire. Really craze rumor stuff."
"How?"
"How did I use my semblance to overhear your stupid reason for coming here and your dead friends name? I don't know its just a gift."
The Cinder girl was certainly more calm, she was angry still she just hid it well. Not the same kind of anger that Emerald had though.
Cinder looked at where Mercury's legs were, and twitched slightly. What would get under this girls skin.
"I wonder if you still believe in magic and the fair tales about the monster known as Salem?"
They froze, "You...What's in the book, we weren't actually told."
"You weren't told?"
"Why the hell would you want it then, wait..." I took a second to breath. "Wasn't this about the debt my parents had? I didn't really process the why here."
Cinder looked around and pointed to the backroom that lead to the house. "Can we go in there to talk about this? You seem to have a very powerful semblance that honestly I don't even know how to begin to defend against. So do you mind we get a little more privacy while discussing more of these details?"
I looked at the both of them, Emerald was angry about having to compromise and Cinder just seemed to want to get this over with. "Okay fine, Come on." I opened up the way to enter the backroom hallway. They followed along to my living room where I pulled chairs up to the dining room table.
"Is this fine?"
"Yes, thank you. I will be honest with you, so far You killed one of my people, made rude remarks to Emerald here, and ultimately left me with no other choice but to be cooperative. The last part isn't even because of you its because of your semblance. You not only instantly killed someone with it, but you also made a hand motion that caused sound to be amplified to your direction. I would have preferred you not knowing about the book, but it has made this a little easier."
"How so?"
"Well, Let's just say someone higher up the chain wants that book. It contains a story about magic and how 4 unique keys were made. The creation of those keys is what the higher chain wants."
"Why the being cryptic and the debt collection then?"
"I am being cryptic because I am not sure how much I should tell you. You accepting the job I am offering would allow me to simply show you the reason for being cryptic and get you out of my hair. I already have to deal with some other less than optimal...let's just say co-workers. The debt collection Idea was originally created by one of them, however they did not do there research it seems and put me in a very difficult situation. So I ask do you want a job?"
I leaned back not really sure what to say here. This whole thing was kind annoying, maybe I should've just killed both her flunkies... I just wanted to become a hunter so I could travel the world freely. Now however I had to deal with this bullshit.
"Correct me after I am done here, but one of your co-workers I assume bought my parents debt, then planned to use that debt to have your team of people come here and threaten me. They weren't really told how to get the book so they attacked first and planned to ask questions later. This however got one of them killed by me, and the other gone off to complain to you. Which leads to the problem of where you're stuck having to come back here to try and get the book and get me on your guys good side due to my semblance being unexpectedly useful? Which also means y'all are likely not very good people, I mean not only because that terrible scheme to I assume get me to pay off my parents debt through the collection of the book. Along with the fact that the only application of my power seen before you got here was to instantly kill someone...I assume this job is likely to kill people? Finally being forced to either recruit me or die trying to get that book your boss has made you come here to talk to me...Nicely. Am I Right?"
She nodded, "So will you accept this job?"
"If I accept will i get paid, can I get a hunter license and would I get to harass people?"
Both women face palmed. Apparently my change from seriousness to jokingly serious was to off putting...

ZeOwl All the personailties of characters will be changed a bit up. Specially with Ozpin later on. Like they tried to make Ozpin morally ambigious but he was just really lawful good and it was awful. So imma change some things for certain.
