Chapter 155: Amoung the Flames (3)

Beacon was a warzone. From where Raven and Qrow appeared, broken bones, skulls caved in, and bodies mutilated by magic were everywhere. Qrow nearly puked and Raven wasn't that far off either. As they were surveying the carnage before them, Professor Peach was thrown at them.

Qrow: "Peach, what's going on?" Qrow asked after he caught her.
Peach: "Salem and Ozpin are fighting everyone and everything in their path." Peach said as she coughed up some blood. "All we know is that they're heading for Beacon's pier. Port's gone and most of the Huntsmen professors and students are doing their best to keep the casualties to a minimum. Glynda's been doing her best to fight them despite being injured herself."
Raven: "We need to get to the pier." Raven spoke up after hearing what Peach said. "Peach, you stay back and get those injured to safety, we'll handle Ozpin and Salem. Use your semblance to do it and stay out of the way. You're too injured to fight."

Peach nodded and the three of them headed off to the pier. When they got there, they found Glynda throwing spell after spell at them; doing her best to stall or disable Salem and Ozpin. Raven, not missing out on how lethal they were, drew [Omen] and charged at Ozpin who was about to attack Glynda from behind.

Raven: "I got your six!" Raven shouted as she clashed her sword against Ozpin's [The Long Memory].
.
Glynda didn't say anything but left Raven to handle Ozpin while she focused on Salem. Salem threw a lightning bolt at the two of them which Qrow redirected with several shots from his [Hargringer]. Raven pushed back Ozpin who retreated over to Salem who kept throwing spells at Raven and Glynda. Glynda kept counteracting the spells with their opposites.

Qrow: "What's the plan?" Qrow asked as he joined Raven and Glynda.
Glynda: "I can keep Salem busy." Glyndatold them as she countered a fireball with a ball of water.
Qrow: "Since when can you use magic this well?" Qrow asked as he used [Harbringer] to stall Salem from attacking, but Ozpin came in and deflected the shots.
Glynda: "Logan's been teaching me, but that doesn't matter now." Glynda answered as she threw a massive bolder at them. "But now, we got to disable them."
Raven: "Easier said than done." Raven commented as she stood in front and then deflected a small rock that was shot like a bullet. "Plan?"
Glynda: "Go for their limbs." Glynda answered as she started to fling spells faster.

Qrow and Raven got the idea and charged while Glynda kept Salem busy.

Logan skidded back after he blocked Nox. Just as Lux tried to capitalize on Logan's broken form, Magus blindsided him with a bolt of lightning. Nox saw this and roared as he charged Magus.

Logan: "You ain't going anywhere!" Logan shouted as he struck Nox's back.
.
Nox screamed in pain before turning around and swinging at Logan. Logan deflected the enraged attack before shooting Nox three times in the chest. Nox was thrown backward as Lux and Magus became contested in a magic duel. Logan rushed towards the knocked-down Nox and tried to stab at his prone form. Nox rolled at the last second and dodged out of the way as he sent a sword slash at Logan. Ducking the slash, Logan went forwards with a sweeping blow that nicked Nox's horn.

Nox had enough and transformed his sword into two axes. Charging at Logan, Nox swept each axe at Logan, forcing him to dip and dodge. Unfortunately, Logan mistimed one of the swings and the axe dug into his shoulder. Logan's aura did nothing to stop it as it cleaved deeply into his shoulder.

Logan: "Shit!" Logan cursed as he used his flames to push back Nox.
Nox: "Finally, a deciding blow." Nox sneered, "No matter what you do, that wound will never heal."
.
Logan ignored Nox's rant and used his Golden flames to cover the wound and stitch his shoulder up with them. Nox saw this and laughed, saying it was no use as the innate darkness of his weapon cursed those hit by it. Logan continued to ignore him as he felt his shoulder stitch itself back together.

Nox: "Impossible!" Nox growled as he saw the wound close.
Logan: "You must be weaker than I thought." Logan taunted as he flexed his shoulder, making sure that it was all right. "That barely took any time to heal."

Magus: "Let us finish this, Lux!" Magus shouted as his magic surged and struck like lightning.
Lux: "Foolish mortal, this will be your end!" Lux shouted back as he shot several arrows of light.

The attacks collided with each other and exploded with great force. The two glared at each other once the dust faded away. Lux was the first to act by transforming his bow into twin swords and charging at Magus. Magus didn't move an inch as Lux barreled at him. Just as Lux was inches away from Magus, Nayma (01), appeared and blocked his swords with two of her own.

Lux: "Can't you fight your own battles?" Lux scoffed and asked as he swiped his swords away from Nayma.
Nayma: "I am his sword." Nayma spoke, but her voice carried immense rage.
Lux: "Then break."

Ruby and Summer started to scream in pain as their eyes began to bleed. The Doctors and Klein scrambled left and right to help them. Summer succumbed first, her eyes melting and dripping out of her head. Leaving empty eye sockets devoid of any light. Ruby lasted longer but she too succumbed to the same.
.
Weiss and Tai cried at the sight and knowledge that they may never be able to see again. With Logan nowhere to be seen or heard, the chances of them recovering their sight were slim to non-existent.
