Chapter 4: Entering Together

Somewhere in Vale, a pair of twins was being held in a small dark room...

Glynda was walking in circles around the siblings as she babbled on in a scolding tone.

"I hope that you realized that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, you two. You put yourselves and others in great danger."

"But they started it!" Ruby said in defense while having an indignant look. Jin just sighed at her answer and he spoke out.

"That's a stupid answer, Rubes. Uh, Maam, those people were trying to mug us and we just attacked in self-defense."

"Or.....that..." Ruby sheepishly lowered her head.

Glynda continues to give a stern look at the two, which made Ruby nervous, but Jin was unaffected by it at all and just yawned.

He was waiting for Glynda to say the words he wanted to hear.

"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home.....With a pat on the back..."

Ruby smiled as soon as she heard these words and Jin looked at Glynda with a raised eye brow, who just turned her back on them.

"And a slap on the wrist."

Following these words, Glynda faced Ruby and she smacked her wand on girl's hand, Ruby barely avoids it as she slightly jumped in fright and let out an "Eeek!"

Jin just smiled at his sister's misery and a small chuckle at Ruby's reaction. Glynda heard this and she spoke out,

"What are you laughing about young man?"

"Sorry, just found that scene funny." Jin replied with a smile, which just made Glynda raise an eye brow.

She then sighed, "The two of you.....there is someone here who would like to meet you."

Following those words, Glynda moved out of the doorway. The twins then saw a man with green clothes and white hair coming through the doorway. He was holding a mug and a plate of cookies on his hands.

Jin immediately recognized him. He was Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy.

'Ah, he's here.'

"Ruby Rose..." He addressed the girl first.

"And, Jin Rose..." He turned to the boy.

Ruby immediately sat up properly, but Jin just remained in his nonchalant position as he crossed his arms.

Ozpin moves his face closer and stares at the twin's faces before saying, "The two of you.....have silver eyes..."

Ruby did the infamous cute anime girl head lean in her confusion, "Umm..."

While Jin's silver eyes gleamed with a weak silver light, but Ozpin did not notice this.

"So, Ruby. Where did you learn to do this?" Ozpin asked the young girl as his head and eyes gestured towards Glynda's scroll, showing a recording of the street fight earlier.

A Scroll is a device that appears to function as a collapsible, holographic tablet. It basically worked like an iPad, with the batteries and everything. But it had the addition of being able to expand its screen from the compact mode of phone size and up to iPad levels.

"S-Signal Academy?" Ruby nervously answered.

"An entry level school taught you how to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin slightly leaned.

"Well.....One teacher in particular!"

"I see..." Ozpin slightly backed off.

At that point, Ozpin sets the plate down in front of her.

Ruby's eyes sparkled before shooting back and forth between Ozpin and the cookies. A moment later, she managed to beat her hesitation, as her hand slowly reaches forward and took a cookie. She quickly munched on it and took another one, and another one...

Her hand kept reaching for the cookies as she ravenously gobbled them all up, not leaving anything for Jin, not even crumbs.

"Wow."

Jin already saw this a million times at their home and he still couldn't understand in how his sister was able to eat cookies that fast.

"I only know of one person who can wield the scythe with such skill before.....a dustly old crow."

Ruby then mumbled some incomprehensible words of affirmation through her mouth full of cookies.

"Well, excuse you Rubes." Jin spoke out.

"Pardon me?" Ozpin said.

She then managed to swallow her cookies and giggled nervously.

"Sorry, that's my Uncle Qrow, he's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing, but now I'm all like whooowahh, wawawaptchh, watttcchhhaaa!"

Ruby described the last part with her doing some supposed to be martial art stances and gestures.

Jin just rolled his eyes as he watched his twin sister acting shamelessly. She was doing those embarassing poses like she was a chuunibyou.

Ruby noticed her twin's reaction and she sits back with her head down, blushing from embarrassment.

"So I've noticed..." Ozpin spoke out with a slight smile.

He then continued, "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself, doing in a school designed to train warriors?"

"Well, I want to be a huntress."

"You want to slay monsters?" Ozpin asked with a raised eye brow.

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left in Signal, and then I'm going to apply to Beacon." As she finished this, she started to speak faster.

"You see, our sister is starting there this year and she's trying to become a Huntress. I'm trying to become a huntress because I wanna help people!"

"Our parents always taught us to help people, so I thought 'Oh well, might as well make a career out of it' hehe. I mean sure, the police are alright, but Huntsman and Huntresses are so much more romantic, exciting and cool!"

She then squeals in her delusions and ended with, "You know?!"

She flips out at the last part and she looked at the two people in front of her with a wide and crazy smile. Glynda and Ozpin in turn, just looked at Ruby silently with deadpan expressions.

"Ok, alright." Jin spoke out as he patted Ruby's shoulders to calm her down.

"Whatever that makes you happy Rubes. Whatever your heart desires."

Ruby then sat properly again with her head down, clearly embarassed of her actions.

"Very interesting." Ozpin chuckled before he directed his attention towards Jin.

"Jin Rose, unlike your sister, I already heard much about you, and in great detail I may add."

Jin's eyes narrowed a little and he slightly stiffened at the remark, "How so?"

With that, Ozpin then waved his hands at the scroll and the video then switches to a different scenario. This time its showing a video of Jin's own activities.

But unlike Ruby who fought criminals, he was battling a pack of Grimms -Beowolves- in a forest.

Jin was punching each and every one of them as they pounced on him, their bodies exploding on impact with Grimm guts and body parts flying everywhere. He was brutally killing them with thunderous punches.

The video then switches, and now it is shown where Jin was shirtless and was wearing a pair of silver fearsome-looking gauntlets with a red lightning emblem on the back. The gauntlets would occasionally spark with red electricity for every few seconds.

He was putting holes on many Grimm's bodies with punches, some of them even exploding with Grimm guts flying everywhere. Each of his punches always carried the power of his Semblance, and it always had a loud boom because of the might it carried.

Ruby blushed upon seeing her twin brother's incredible body as she tried really hard to ignore it and focus on what he was doing.

In the video, he was in a mountainous terrain with corpses of Grimms surrounding him from all sides, with some slowly turning into black particles and disappearing with the wind.

Beowolves, Beringels, Boarbatusks, and Death Stalkers, all of them were pummeled down to the ground while Jin was still rampaging and killing the remaining Grimms with punches that carried great strength.

He either attracted all those Grimms to him, or he was hunting them down.

The video then switches again, and the final one is shown. This time, Jin was fighting a group of Beacon Academy's hunter-in-training students, they seem to be third-years.

There were four of them that attacked him together with their weapons, but Jin was blocking, dodging and countering everything thrown at him flawlessly. He was basically toying with them until he beated the crap out of them by pummeling them to the ground.

Ruby was now looking at her brother with sparkling eyes. She was in awe in how Jin was killing Grimms like livestock in the last videos, and was kicking Beacon Academy's suppose to be powerful hunter-in-training student's butts in the current video.

"Well, its a bit surprising that the headmaster of Beacon has taken an interest of me."

Jin leaned back to his seat and crossed his arms, only to look at Ozpin with coldness in his eyes.

"Interested enough for me to be stalked and spyed on at everywhere I go." Jin spoke coldly, small anger can be sensed in his voice.

He had alot of activities which he doesn't want people to know. Afterall, he did many things to become the strong man that he is right now, but some of those activities could be considered.....very bad

He definitely doesn't want his family to know about it, or else they would do something unthinkable.

Jin already knew that Ozpin knows more, he was sure that Ozpin knows some of his other bizzare activities.

But in this case, he just showed some of the appropriate or 'legal' side of his actions.

This was the first time Jin met Ozpin in his time in this world. He would really like to get along with the man, but after seeing these videos, that proved that he was being watched on secretly, he was quite pissed at him.

Glynda didn't like how Jin was talking to her boss, so she was about to speak something in beration, but Ozpin raised and gestured his hand, telling her to stop.

Ruby kept looking at her brother and then at Ozpin with a troubled face, she was getting nervous since her twin brother looked like he was about to start some trouble with the man.

'Jin looks like he's angry about him for showing his abilities that was captured on camera. Does he not like being watched secretly?'

She didn't see her twin brother getting angry on anything in her entire life, nor witness what he would do if he was furious, but she definitely didn't wanna see if he was.

The mood was getting gloomy, so Ozpin spoke up to get things right, "I assure you Mr. Rose, that this is only for research purposes about you. Nothing more and nothing less."

Jin just closed his eyes and nodded slowly, but he had different thoughts.

'Ozpin is a devious man, he is smart and he always plans things in advance. I don't know how he'll do things if I'm around in Beacon.'

'He will surely speak privately with me soon to talk about my other activities. I might as well prepare for that day.....*Sigh* I don't like scheming, I'll guess I'll just wing it when the time comes.'

"Anyway, Mr. Rose. Why would you turn down the immediate offer in applying to Beacon Academy? You could've been the youngest and one of the most powerful hunter student in this generation. So why didn't you want to join Beacon immediately?" Ozpin asked.

Ozpin could still remember it, when he read the letter of rejection. He really thought that it was a huge waste.

A young man like Jin was one of a kind, he had an unlimited potential in becoming the most powerful hunter in history and aid humanity to the incoming calamity.

"You got the offer for an entry in Beacon?!" Ruby exclaimed in a high pitched voice, clearly surprised at the sudden info.

"Yeah, I forgot to tell you about it. Sorry, Rubes." Jin apologized, but the female twin clearly knew that it wasn't sincere, so Ruby just pouted at him.

"Well, it's really simple why I didn't accept Beacon Academy's offer." Jin stated, which made everyone in the room look at him with curiousity.

"Then what's the reason?" Ozpin asked as he gazed curiously at the young man.

"It's because I didn't want to leave Ruby behind. Afterall, she is my twin sister." Jin said with a smile.

Ruby couldn't help but be surprised and be touched at his words. She felt a great warm feeling of gratefulness and affection as she looked at her brother.

"Sure, I would be with my elder sister if I join Beacon immediately, but I didn't want to leave Ruby behind in Signal. I wanted all of us to be together." Jin smiled as he patted Ruby's head, who just continued to look at him with complicated thoughts.

"Besides." Jin's warm smile then turned into a teasing smirk.

"I can't really leave you all alone since you're socially awkward and doesn't know how to handle people."

"HEY!"

Ruby lightly punched him at the shoulder before pouting at him. Jin just ruffled her hair before the duo then turned their attention back to the people in front of them.

Ozpin tilted his head, "Do either of you know who I am?"

"You're Professor Ozpin, you're the Headmaster at Beacon." Ruby answered.

Ozpin, who had seated himself, leaned forward across the table, "Do you want to come to my school?"

He clearly directed the question to the both of them. Jin was already expecting this and Ruby had the look of awe on her face.

"More than anything!" Ruby said as she then took a deep breath. Ozpin then turns to Jin.

"Well, since Ruby's coming now, then of course I'll accept the offer."

Ozpin then gave a questioning gaze to his associate. Glynda just scoffed as she rolled her eyes and looked away.

With a broad smile and eyes squinted shut, Ozpin made his decision, "Well, okay."

"YES!"

Ruby jumped in excitement and she hugged her brother in glee.

"We're gonna go together, Jin! Together!"
