Chapter 93: It's Not You

I felt like my heart was going to explode and all that would be smeared across the walls of the basement would be… fear.

My breath was stuck in my throat and I couldn't make a sound. There was a silhouette of a man standing in the shadows in front of the basement door. The light bulb overhead was failing at doing its job. It could barely illuminate the center of the room let alone the corners. 

"W-who are you?" I finally found my voice from the depths of my stomach. Beads of sweat trickled down the side of my face and an icy sensation slid down the nape of my neck. 

The man started walking towards me, his features coming to light with each step. My heart pounded loudly against my chest. This was it. This was when I saw the face of the person who kidnapped me. 

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. 

Will he kill me now? Will he torture me? Why am I here? What does he want from me?
