Chapter 43: Raid

Artemis Control Room
Naomi, Mitali, and Aiden enter the control room. Naomi stands behind Annabelle and looks at the monitor from atop her shoulder. The monitor showed the live feed of a heat-detecting camera aimed at the orphanage. Naomi gets a little shocked seeing the feed didn't show any reading at all. She asks, "What's going on here?"
"Looks like the building's abandoned."
"Yeah............…Ok. Drop us somewhere close by."
"Yes, LT. ARIA, handle the vertical thrusters."
"Understood, princess.......Decreasing thruster power input...…... .90%.....80%......70%...."
Annabelle lands the aircraft in an empty field nearby. After landing, Naomi says, "Aiden, Mitali, come with me. Princess, Fly back up and keep on overwatch. Let me know if you see anything."
"Yes, Lt."
Naomi, Mitali, and Aiden go into the garage and sit in the KIA Sportage. Naomi sits in the driving seat and says, "ARIA, mark the orphanage on the GPS."
"Location marked. The target is 1.7 Kilometers south of here."
Naomi starts Driving.

Woodrich, Washington D.C
The car stops behind the orphanage. All three of them get out of the car. Naomi gestures for them to be silent and follow her. She leads them to the front gate of the orphanage. After reaching the front door Naomi whispers through the comms, "I'll breach in a moment. Once I do, Aiden, you'll take the left side, and Mitali, you'll take the right."
Both of them reply at once, "Understood." Mitali stands to the left side of the door and Aiden stands to the right. Naomi aims her MP5 straight in front, counts down to three, and breaks the door. The moment she breaks the door she walks straight in, aiming straight all the time. Aiden walks straight to the left side aiming his pistol and Mitali walks straight to the right aiming her FMG-9.
They enter into a medium-sized rectangular dark room. Naomi returns from the aiming position and whispers, "ARIA, switch on NV(Night-vision) mode."
"Yes, Lt."
Mitali does the same. The room looked like a reception room. Naomi commands Annabelle through the comms, "Princess, relay a layout of the building to me."
"Alright....... Did it."
ARIA says, "Displaying the map on top left of the HUD."
The map showed two big rooms on the right side of the House and two on the right side. Annabelle said, "There seems to be a basement in the building. I'm noticing a drop in air pressure in the room on the far left side."
"OK. Mitali, check out the right side. Be on guard. Aiden, go with Mitali."
"Yes, Lt."
Mitali and Aiden go toward the right side. After seeing them leave, Naomi goes to the left. She cautiously clears both rooms and moves to the location Annabelle marked with high air pressure. She didn't have to look much to find a hatch on the floor. She pulls the hatch and it reveals a staircase. She aims her weapon forward and slowly descends. As she gets down and takes a look at the whole room Naomi. and Annabelle, who was viewing the helmet footage of her, yelled in sync, "What the hell was going on here?" Naomi asks on the comms, "Mitali, are you done with the other rooms?"
"Yes. But why did you yell?"
"You'll understand once you see this."
Naomi looks around for the switchboard and once she finds it, she heads towards it. She turns off NV and flicks all of the light switches and the room lights up. The room was filled with many combat training materials like dumbbells, knives, guns, targets, etc. She starts looking around and as she reaches a corner, she notices something about the floor. She says on comms, "Mitali, where are you?"
"We're in the lobby, on our way to you."
"1st go to the car and get a pickaxe and other digging tools."
"OK. I'll be there in a minute."
"Ohhh. Turn off your NV before coming down, if you don't want to be blind."
"Understood."
Naomi again says, "ARIA, you're recording all of this right?"
"Yes, lt."
Princess says, "But, really, What was going on here?"
"Looks like some sort of training area."
Naomi keeps walking to let ARIA record all of the equipment in the room. By the time she finishes, she sees Mitali and Aiden coming down the stairs with digging equipment in hand. Naomi leads them to the spot and says, "Aiden, you got muscles?"
"uhm...…..I do...…maybe?"
"Good. Start digging."
"What?......"
"Yeah. start digging. Don't worry. I'll help you too."
Naomi and Aiden start digging through the floor and after digging around 10 feet under Naomi gestures to Aiden to stop and starts moving the soil with her hand. A little while later everyone's eyes widen as they find three skeletons in that hole. Naomi orders Annabelle, "Princess, land Artemis right in front of the orphanage."
"That'll block the road."
"Doesn't matter. Do it."
"Yes, ma'am."
Annabelle lands Artemis in front of the front gate of the orphanage. The four of them then carefully pick the skeletons up and slowly move them over to the med bay of Artemis. Once they're done Medusa says, "Aiden, can you contact the CIA to take control of the orphanage."
"I'm on it." Aiden rushes out of the med bay.
"Mitali, I want the autopsy report on these skeletons ASAP. Princess, get us airborne. We're returning to Louisiana."
Annabelle and Mitali reply together, "On it, ma'am."
Naomi thinks, "How am I supposed to report this to Sohel?"

Orphanage, Vinton
Sohel and Jacob get out of their Subaru and head straight to the front gate. They disregard the guard and go straight for the office room. Stone was sitting on his chair, doing something on his laptop. As he sees Sohel and Jacob enter the room he gets up and smiles.
"Oh. What brings you back here?"
"I'm going to need you to hand over Luna to us."
"I'm afraid I can't do that. She's in our custody and I can't just hand her over without any prior notice."
Sohel hands Stone the warrant for taking in Luna and says, "It's an urgent warrant. We'll be taking her with us right now. We've reasons to believe she's involved with murders other than this one."
Stone reads the warrant and puts it down on the table. He orders someone to bring Luna on the intercom and says to Sohel, "Please wait."
A few moments later a woman and Luna enter the room. Sohel goes to her, crouches to match her height, and says, "Luna, you'll be coming with us now. OK?"
Luna silently nods. Jacob and Sohel take Luna and get back in the car. As Jacob sits in the driver seat he says, "That went easier than I expected."
"Yeah. I'd expected a little more fight."
Just at that moment, ARIA says, "Captain, you've got a call from Lt. Medusa."
Sohel replies, "Put it on the glasses speaker."
Sohel picks up the call and listens quietly for almost 15 minutes. Jacob noticed the more time passed on the call the more serious Sohel's expressions became. Sohel cuts the call before saying, "I'll be there ASAP."
He turns to Jacob and says, "To the airport. fast."
