Chapter 48: Shadow Punch
Annabelle lands Artemis in the smoke and once everyone gets out she flies back in the air. Jacob and Naomi go straight toward the enemy firing at anyone that peaks. They run and take cover behind one of the cars. Jacob gets out and starts spraying blindly towards the cars. His blind spray kills a few more enemies and blows up two cars. But as he was shooting he got hit by enemy shots on his chest and he fell down. Naomi fires a few suppressing shots and pulls Jacob back inside cover. Naomi yells at Jacob, "IDIOT. Who blindly fires at enemies without checking for enemy fires."
Sohel's voice comes through the comms, "You broken, Blast?"
Jacob replies, "Just the plates, boss."
"That's good then. You two focus on holding them off there. Once we capture Stone, they should eventually surrender."
Naomi replies, "Tell that to this idiot here."
"Blast, don't be reckless."
"Yes, boss."
Naomi and Jacob get ready. They stay behind cover and peak and shoot at the enemies at regular intervals.
On the other side, Stone gets a little scared seeing all this. He looks around and sees only two guards with him and Flynn. He orders his two men to get a dinghy ready. After they run toward the shore, Stone aims his pistol at Flynn and says, "Pick the girl up." Flynn reluctantly follows. One of the two guards comes back and informs them that the boat is ready. The three of them then reach the shore and as they get on the boat a rifle roars and both guard's bodies fall on the shore. Stone and Flynn turn around and see Sohel aiming his HK416 at Stone. Stone doesn't recognize them due to their helmets hiding their faces and asks, "Who the fuck are you?"
Sohel says, "Ghost. Flynn, my friend has already rescued your dad. You don't need to listen to Stone anymore."
Flynn's eyes start tearing. He asks, "Is...Is it true?"
"It is."
Mitali whispers through comms, "Wait, his dad was kidnapped?"
"Yeah. I've requested Shadow to rescue him. However, the rescue isn't completed yet. But I doubt Shadow would fail."
Mitali awkwardly laughs. Flynn was carrying Luna in his arms. He looks at Sohel and Stone. He then gets off the boat and starts heading towards Sohel and Mitali. Stone aims his gun at Flynn and yells, "Stop Flynn. He's lying. Do you want your dad to die?"
Flynn doesn't pay heed to Stone's dialogues and keeps walking. Stone gets ready to shoot out of desperation. But before he could shoot Sohel shoots at Stone's hand. Stone drops the gun and screams in pain. Sohel yells, "Just surrender already, Stone. You've got nowhere to run." Stone yells, "NO NO NO NO I can't fall here." He uses his left hand to start the boat and drives it towards the yacht. Flynn reaches Sohel and Mitali and hands Luna to Mitali. Luna freaks out seeing the suit as she doesn't recognize them either. She starts punching Mitali while yelling, "Let me go. Let me go." Sohel tries to calm Luna down, "Hey, hey, Luna. It's us. SNA. calm down." Seeing it isn't working, Sohel takes off his Helmet and grabs Luna. He says, "Hey, Luna. Look at me. It's me. Ghost. Calm down now, okay? I've come for you, just as I promised." Luna hugs Sohel and starts crying, "You came. You came for me. You kept your promise. I...….I was so scared."
Sohel consoles Luna, "Calm down now. It's alright." Luna lets go of Sohel and Sohel wears his helmet back on. He orders Annabelle through comms, "Princess, land the V-tol on the shore. Mitali, take Luna to medbay. Flynn, go with Mitali." Flynn says, "Let me come with you. I…..I've to redeem myself." Sohel puts a hand on Aiden's shoulder and says, "Okay. " Sohel and Flynn run towards the shore and drive towards the yacht in another boat.
Sohel and Flynn get on the yacht and get inside. They start walking through the corridors and see dead bodies lying around. Sohel says, "Damn that shadow. Did he fight all of them alone?" They run through the corridors and reach a big dimly lit room. The room looked like a bar of some sort. Sohel starts looking around. At that moment he feels something and pushes Aiden. Just the moment he pushes Aiden a bullet flies through the place he was standing. Sohel gets behind a pillar and peaks, looking for the attacker. Aiden too crawls and takes cover behind a table. Sohel gets a glimpse of someone and shoots. But he gets awed seeing the shadow dodge the bullets. Out of the shadows, a 28-30-year-old Asian man emerges and shoots at Sohel. Sohel gets behind the covers again. He breaths and peaks back but gets startled seeing the man standing right in front of him. The man kicks Sohel's hand and his rifle falls. He then throws a punch aimed at Sohel's face. Sohel dodges the punch and runs around the pillar in an attempt to get behind him. He punches the man with his left arm's full strength. The man flies back a few feet. Sohel takes out his M17 Pistol and fires 4 bullets. But he gets shocked again as the man dodges all four bullets and runs towards Sohel.
The man shoots at Sohel with a Glock-17 but Sohel blocks it with his left hand and moves away as the man tries to punch him again. Sohel aims at the man again but stops as he hears ARIA's frantic voice, "Captain, don't shoot. That man, he's Shadow." Sohel yells, "WHAT?" Shadow punches Sohel. The punch was so powerful that Sohel's helmet broke and he flew off and hit a table. Shadow gets close and turns on a torch at him. He says, "I wanted to look at the man who could land a hit at me and look at that. It's an SNA operator." He extends a hand towards Sohel and says, "I'm sorry. Didn't think I'd see a friendly here. Wait, you're one of the Bravo squad members, right?"
Sohel says, "Squad leader, Captain Ghost. Quite the first meeting."
Shadow laughs. They turn at Flynn and see him hugging an old man. Shadow says, "That's his father." Sohel says, "Flynn, return to the shore with your dad. We'll capture Stone." Flynn nods and goes back the way they came. Sohel turns at Shadow and says, "Let's go then."
